The Cramps are as ageless as they are iconic. Lux was near 59 at the time of this concert. He was still as energetic, insane and vocally profound as he was in his early days. Ivy doesn't look to have aged a day at all. The Cramps filled my youthful days and ears with unbridled, unhumbled music and memories I wont soon forget. The Cramps made music with passion and that gloriously insane man in front kept rockin until the very end. RIP Mad Daddy, tear it up wherever you are.
i pissed myself with laighter at him in 1986 at londons hammersmith odeon when he sank a few bottles of straight jack daniels or southern comfort (we could see it was a bourbon bottle) while hanging from the lighting scaffolding and mooneying his ass cheeks for all to see. what a bloody great laugh. set us up beautifully for that nights fresh LSD-25
The cramps man seen em twice in Leeds back in the day...all other psychobilly bands tried to trump him..or King Kurt, etc.they were funny but lux stole the show.,.the UK p b bands were all because of him....a real preacher in the best sense...so influential... iconic and genuinely possessed of genius as a front man..best ever?....he's up with Iggy if you ask me. ..don't forget ivy...Geffory Lee couldn't....oh for the love of ivy ..she's the one
@@christopherogley1714 if there was ever a man & woman meant to be it’s Lux & Poison Ivy when they play together the vocals & guitar are literally as one & watching them interviewed they are at complete ease with each other a true love story. Their total commitment to music is beautiful
I was a 17-year-old Tijuana punk, they were my first live show In San Diego Cal, along with Peter and the Test Tube Babies. still love them at 56 years old. Respect from Mexico and yes Ivy is not Human.
His voice sounded fucking incredible for 60 years old and was identical to 1980!!! That is so rare among rock singers. Would have loved to see them at any period in their career.
Just a few months after this show I saw The Cramps at The Fillmore in San Francisco it was their annual Halloween show...at Mid night Lux Popped a bottle of wine and said "You are witnessing 30 years of the Cramps to the minute!"... The show was of course amazing. I moved to Argentina a couple months after the show...When I came back t LA I heard about Lux moving on and I felt MFN happy I had seen that last show and their anniversary. Rip does not apply to Lux... He's alive somewhere for sure. He's rocking my room right now!!!
ROCKIN BONES babe Rockin Bones & yeah he's left the spaceship somewhere & he's Rockin in the next dimension where we should all go. The fastest possible way.
Not a big fan of cover bands but have you checked out the Teenage Werewolves? - they are the pretenders to the high throne of The Cramps but they do deliver. Ask any Cramps fan. Not the original but close.
Lux never lost his guts and soul! He barely sounds any different than he did in "Songs the Lord Taught Us". It makes me even more bummed out that I never got to see one my favorite bands play live. Even though he might not have been humping the amplifiers on stage while wearing a g-string and high heels by the time I was going to shows, it would have been really awesome to see The Cramps play live........ Also, Ivy is still smokin' hot
though it was a bit of a shame they lost some of their more psychedelic/garage-punk edge from the mid-80's onwards when they introduced a bass guitar instead of two guitarists, and started to sound more like standard psychobilly. i always thought the cramps were too good for the psychobilly scene.
Even if you ignored their own outrageously killer originals, there's no denying that The Cramps were pure, unadulterated living (undead? lol!) ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY! They had the look, the sound and the energy...The Cramps ARE rock and roll! Rest in pieces Lux...even with congenital heart failure looming, you put one BADASS show!
heart problems, led to sudden death, nobody was expecting it, was a dark day just over 3 years ago, i saw them in 2006 at the fillmore in san fran, 30th aniversary show, halloween night, it was an amazing show, greatly missed, never will be another lux!!
I'm not up other names but the singer died ?😮 I have been rocking since the 80 and just came across 3 days ago. This what rock & roll is all about outstanding band ❤
The way they are covering 50s and 60s classics in their inimitable style is often better and more deep than the original songs, in my point of view. Seen the Cramps live several times and still love their music, for over 35 years... And Poison Ivy still rocks, what a wonder woman! Thanks to Belgobilly for sharing this great video. RIP Lux.
Few bands end up sounding this great until the very end. And they were destroying it and doing a show just as good if not better- then their early days. RIP Lux Interior. You gave us one hell of a show after another fucking great show. At least we have the video footage and songs. I never got to see them, but fortunately so many people got to.
To EVERYONE uploading full shows, we CRAMPED Super Fans from all over this planet thank you so much!! Not having Cramps shows to keep you going through the year is supremely painful. But having high quality full shows assuages the pain a teeny bit. Lux, we Earthlings miss you! I hope your time on Mars has been treating you well...
They look faboulous ! And Ivy so good ! Shame I didn't see this show, we love you all The cramps ! Lux ....we will see you still when playing your records ! RIP Lux.
What can I say,, listened to the cramps for years this is rockin roll,, great iconic band never got the chance to see them live,, definitely the missing piece in my jigsaw of bands that I have seen live,, Rip lux love yous xx👍
As much as I love the Cramps, have had a absolute blast every time they have rolled through town & still enjoy their debauchery of rock & roll noise I got to say that Lux looks like The Simpsons Mr. Burns vampire version of Bram Stokers Dracula spoof here. "I heard that"
Worked the stage for the Cramps in the 90's. Couldn't take my eyes of the two girls (Candy on base), even when the singer was bouncing around in panties and heels. Oh yeah, the music was great. Cramps, Ramones, B-52's and Blondie all in the same show.
97 dallas, bigbeat from badsville...they were the loudest most powerful thing I've ever heard (deep ellum live), I took a few kicks from the bouncers too, hopping over the fence in front of the stage.
The cramps .... tu écoutes , tu oublies , tu écoutes .... d'autres pis tu ré écoute .... encore et encore .... et ça te reste collé .... Merci the best énergic fuckin" group ........ Poison the Beautiful !! Rip Lux
was always amazed that the cramps, predominantly being a cover band of rockabilly, r&b, and garage-punk, that they never covered the fall's "mr pharmacist" which had the cramps (particularly early '80's style) stamp all over it.
Poison Ivy rocks as does the rest of the band. A must see video. Click on it or be square. Wish I had seen them live. But alas, just have to live with the footage. The Cramps rock!

Ivy is truly the Queen of Rock and Roll!

LFG Iguanas!
I feel sorry for following generations who will never see the Cramps live as I did a couple of times. Cherished memories.
Never got to see them below my radar became a mod don't stop me loving them though DIFFERENT xxxx
too right
I only saw them a few times and still feel robbed that I can’t again
Screw this Virus.
I'd rather have The CRAMPS!

@@PuNkJuNk63 No rush we will get there... I have written many times about what my first night in the great beyond will be like...
Does any current band come close to this intensity and blistering energy ? Nope. I feel honoured to have seen them in the 90s.
Linda Gail Lewis has a killer version of The Way I Walk on the new Cramps tribute CD. And since she is related to The Killer, she plays a mean piano.
Not a big fan of cover bands but have you checked out the Teenage Werewolves? - they are the pretenders to the high throne of The Cramps but they do deliver. Ask any Cramps fan. Not the original but close.
Iggy Pop's bands are pretty electrifying. I don't know if he has a band now. The Cramps, I've never heard before. They are righteous.
The Reverend Horton Heat.
Poison Evy is the QUEEN she's never died !!! God Save THE QUEEN !!

HannibalOrJustRex There are lots of ways to be wonderfully sexily weird.
HannibalOrJustRex ive seen Cramps twice, UBC van 86, a date with elvis. Masonic Temple Tor ont 84? i dont remember exactly but it was very very good
Barry McCall What a Blast both times although the feedback was terrible, great, at UBC 86 Worlds Fair, Nice, a very very great time i was 22

LUX;) one of the greatest front men ever.
***** I fucking "LOVE" this band.
"Morrissey" himself started a fan club for "The Cramps" FYI:)
***** Can't stand what?
Siiri Cressey Morten probably can't stand this stupid generation and their shit music.
Mikey Macabre Shit pop, you mean?
I was there, fantastic moment. And we even got treated to Bauhaus after this. I miss the Lokerse Feesten.

I was there... How marvelous they were! Wasn't aware of the fact that it was the last time we meet...
I miss Lux so bad it hurts. Glad i got to see them a couple years before he left us, but i'm still hungry for more. Love you Lux, Ivy & crew.

Lux; honestly the most interesting front man in history. twas one of the greats
Rest in peace lux thank you for the out of the ordinary music.

Absolutely outstanding! Cramps with Lux and Poison Ivy are one of America's true Rock N' Roll bands! Epic!
The great Bill Bateman on drums and Chopper Franklin on bass!

You can really tell that Ivy improved greatly as a guitar player here from when they were big the 80's.
As much as I love the Cramps, have had a absolute blast every time they have rolled through town & still enjoy their debauchery of rock & roll noise I got to say that Lux looks like The Simpsons Mr. Burns vampire version of Bram Stokers Dracula spoof here. "I heard that"

Damn, that really, really hit the spot! thanks a million for the upload.
