I just found this recipe and the cookies look delicious. In my search for a Lofthouse cookie recipe, I noticed that yours is the only one that rolls out the dough and cuts with a cookie cutter. The others are drop-style. Can you please explain the difference with this recipe. Thank you so much.

I tried making them and they just turned out with the texture and taste of a pancake. And when i put the frosting on they just crumbled. What did i do wrong? I wanted the cookie to be black for halloween. Did i add too much food coloring?
Hmm that so interesting... how did you measure your flour? Did you spoon it into a measuring cup and level it off or did you scoop it straight into the measuring cup? Often times, that way you measure your flour could add extra flour to the recipe resulting in a dry and crumbly cookie. I hope that helps.

Hi :) There may be 2 things that attributed to a more dense/harder cookie. One is over baking the cooking. Every oven is slightly different so it may require a little less time. The second is too much flour. Did you properly measure by lightly spooning the flour into a measuring cup and leveling off? I hope that helps clarify :)
@@SimplyHomeCooked so the first time I put them in the oven more too long so they kinda cracked easily, but this time they were very soft with a nice crunchy layer on the top!!!!

Also instead of cutting out circles, I rolled up the dough into tiny balls, mushed them a little, and bake. They were amazing! Thank you so much!!!
