Hi James, having watched all your videos on the pond build from start to finish and the trials, tribulations and problems you came across, you should be very proud of what you have achieved and it’s a great looking pond and filter setup. Top man and 👍 for taking the time to share the true costs of your setup as lots of people don’t really like to say the true costs, so we’ll done to you. Proper the 🔨and thank ya mother for the 🐇🐇🐇

Evening James👍😊. £20k is a substantial amount of money but just think of the years of joy you’re going to get out of it👍😊. Koi keeping isn’t cheap but when you compare it to golf club membership and fees, premier league football club season tickets and other hobbies it compares favourably👍😊. Your pond is magnificent and a credit to your vision, effort and perseverance, you should be very proud of what you have achieved regardless of the cost👏👍🥇. Now just sit back and enjoy (and think of all the improvements you can make this season😂🤣👍). Take care buddy, best wishes for the koi season ahead👍🐟🈲😊

Doesn’t matter how much it cost. You can’t put a price on pleasure and happiness. You look at it everyday and think to yourself “I did that” and smile from ear to ear. I rebuilt mine last year and felt lost after I finished. Your pond looks the dogs danglies and you should be very proud of yourself. Well done mate.

    True that
" pull out 1 spade of soil from the ground= atleast 2 spades into the skip.
10 years ago I dug out 2 " flower boarders from our back garden.
1 man,1 shovel and 1 wheelbarrow. 60 yards each way round the back and down the side of the house to a skip on the drive.
    4 x 8 ton skips later
My poor back and nackered wheel barrow hummed 36 tons of wet soil.

I did a similar thing keeping hold of EVERY receipt that involved anything to do with my pond. It’s 1000 gallons in size with some solid filtration and equipment, filter house etc, and costed it at just over £6k. Surprising how quickly the costs mount up, some of the receipts are eye watering. Covid has definitely had a massive impact on price of materials.
Nonetheless, it’s worth every penny in my opinion, and you’ve done a cracking job mate. I’ve still got plenty of bits and pieces to do, and it will be my first full season this year. Looking forward to every minute of it!

It would have cost a lot more if you hadn't grafted and it wasn't your fault you had to fix the drains. This has been the best series on youtube and is definitely the best koi channel. You've worked hard to achieve your dream and deserve it. Imagine chilling out in the summer having a BBQ and looking at the fish, superb. You just need to add on the cost of staining the back door. :). Well done James.

I have known for a while now how much it cost 😉 but was nice to see a breakdown 👍 I would like to see something koi related to help raise money for charity especially with this cost of living crisis we are in, people need food banks more than ever. 😢

Wow… you’re like buses 😀. The value of money is in the spending not the keeping. Just a thought, be good to see a 60 minute time lapse of your entire pond build. Yes a friggin hooooj amount of editing, but would be a great watch for people. Keep up the vids, and what a helluva pond.

You have done a top job of that pond I did my new pond last year it takes over your life but well worth it hopefully we get a mint summer this year so you can sit back and injoy with a beer 🍻. What else can you spend 20k on and give you that much joy for years to come bargain 😀👍

Hi James at the time I thought you were really unfortunate when you hit that drainage problem from your house, having to put in that soakaway must have made a dent in the overall cost of the build which you could not.have foreseen, great job by the way.
