@@ArmandsSprogis thanks for watching and commenting 🙏🏽 I’m working on getting it sorted and will release another video , so manny kind people have offered help
PP u can only use at 2g/Tonne of water. Max safe value will be 3g/Tonne. PP is very lethal and careful usage with correct dose is necessary. Also aeration must be turn at max at all time during PP Process. Please use PP with caution.
Pp is also used to strip a koi of its mucus layer before treating for skin or gill flukes. I’ve done it myself and as long as there is loads of oxygen then the koi are ok. CT will do the same but not as well as PP imo
And it’s used for preparing koi for shows but the problem here wasn’t the PP but a so called expert using PP on someone’s pond who have no experience using the stuff and basically leaving them to it. If hobbyists are beginners or novices then the only safe way of using PP is with an ORP meter removes the guesswork
What a dear shame to hear this. Can see your a genuine person to take this on board when really it was completely out of your hands and not your fault in anyway. Very common mistake people make with over D aquariums little alone a pond that size with that value of fish...at least you've done the kind thing and re stocked it for them which I see you've done ❤
This is such a hard watch. Absolutely heartbreaking mate can see how it has affected you, pal. Top man donating the fish. Don't know you mate this is the first video of yours I have dropped on. Nobody in their right mind should ever leave an unexperienced user with PP ffs. Really sad story dude...
This is a good example of an amateur treating their own fish. With that amount of valuable fish she should have got a professional to do the job. I'm sure that she's learned her lesson if she had and it still happened she would have been able to claim off of them. A second opinion is always a good idea, you could have been the second opinion. Also I don't think that it was wise to treat the whole pond with those potentially dangerous chemicals.
Sadly my dad lost an estimate £30k worth of Koi a few years ago. He’d raised them for years from babies. Sadly over 2 nights an otter got in from a nearby stream and cleaned it out. Devastating.
Its why so many leave the hobby sadly , i lost 27 Aoki fish and 12 dainichi fish all direct imports id picked out myself and kept on throughout years of grading and selling on , it was the 2007 floods that did it to us 😢
Such a sad story i wish you and your customer the best of luck. I also think its a great thing your doing helping them get starting again by donating a few call yourself and asking anyone else if they can donate.

That is so tragic. If only she could of run it by you, just to see what you thought, before acting on advise from a stranger. I know , if only.......... Just such a terrible outcome, it's so sad. They must feel terrible. Good to put this out there though, may help many in future .
I realize you might have been more expensive, but sometimes, one needs to assess the risk of saving money. Especially when dealing with living beings. Now, she has cost herself an enormous amount of $$$ to have the pond torn down and rebuilt. Not to mention her heartbreak over losing her beloved fish. This is a hard lesson learned. Bless her heart, she must feel terrible. ❤
A very very sad watch. I would love to keep koi, but the expense puts me off. I can’t imagine losing a collection like that. Koi are wonderful One thing. Would she like to choose her own fish? That’s half the fun, but I appreciate what you are trying to do
Far too many armchair experts around that hear something, misunderstand and then regurgitate or pass on incorrectly what they think someone should do. I still consider myself very much a novice when it comes to koi even though I’ve had them for years, one thing I know is that you don’t treat with any med unless you know for sure what you’re treating for and never overdose unless you are absolute you know what the potential effects are. Ultimately the only person that lost out here was the owner, the person that gave bad advice will not be affected at all. What upsets me the most with this is when you consider the journey those fish have taken, to be good enough to avoid the cull several times while thousands of their siblings didn’t, to be chosen from those that made the grade and shipped half way around the world, to be picked by the owner from potentially hundreds of others and grow on and be cared for, only to be killed off by very bad advice and a lack of caution by the owner.

Really sad story. However, shouldn't some time be allowed for reflection, and if getting more fish is really a good idea? Those fish will have suffered an unimaginable death, plans need to be put in place to ensure something like this doesn't happen again. Animals are not goods that you can or should simply replace. I've never seen your videos before, you come across as someone who obviously cares.
Black belt in pontificating are you ? Don't you think he knows that already he's a expert and he loves the fish probably more than anyone in the UK. The lady his friend went to 2 other people and took advice instead of listening 10000000% to this guy who is not only a expert but also a family friend of 15 years I know who I would listen to . This is all on her . This guy even wants ro replace some fish to soften the blow . What a good human being
@@Roryfurlongyou have missed the point. Yes this guy does appear to know exactly what he is doing and love the fish, no question there. Question is, should this other person have any more fish in the first place? Personally, I wouldn't place any animal with someone that I know has had something like this happen to them, accident or not, me personally, I wouldnt place an animal in those circumstances. You are entitled to your opinion, and so am I. Nothing at all wrong with questioning something or disagreeing, it's how things evolve.
@davidhandley9007 I agree with the last part of this about debate fair enough . But I really don't think this lady will ever make this mistake again do you ? And the keyword here is MISTAKE we all make them . This was a terrible mistake which killed many beautiful fish and that poor lady will have to live with this . Sometimes people's pets die by accidents should they never own a pet again ?

A very sad story & i can here that its upset you too after all your hard work. I cannot for the life of me understand why the customer would take advice from someone else when youve been the one looking after the pond. Theres a valuable lesson to be learnt here & its one that i here often. People are quick to take advice from people who dont necessarily know they are doing. For start, if your customer hasnt got any experience with the usage of PP then that person should not be recommending that as an option regardless of whether they have experience themselves. PP in my opinion can only be considered effective & safe to use when used with an ORP meter & safeguarded with the use of Hydrogen peroxide if any of the fish show any signs of distress. I can appreciate that people try to help in a bad situation with Koi ponds but they need to remember that its not there pond to destroy nor put in any kind of risk by advising unsafe usage of harsh treatments. This is a hobby that can cost a lot of money, which if your starting off, you will find out.
Anyway, the point I am getting too. That woman who has lost all here fish. No matter how much money she has in the bank. How sad is this?
I feel so sorry for her. She put trust in a person who maybe knew all the names of the Koi but knew F k all when it came down to it.
She should prosecute him if possible as she put her trust in him as he obviously had convinced her ,he knew what he was talking about.
She should name that person so something like this doesn't happen again.
So sorry you lost all you fish
Good vid ill subscribe
I have Peter's books too. He was brilliant.
This client who lost her koi can't prosecute someone for giving advice. there's no proof either way his advice was correct or not.
@@louisasmiles It's a dam shame mate . Glad I came across you on here . I will keep watching . Cheers
Oh man, so sorry to hear this. Your video just poped up in my feed and I love fishing and Koi. So upsetting to hear this :( Many lessons here. Hope they get pond back filled with Koi.
Wow only just come across your channel & sub’d ! Love koi absolutely stunning looking fish.

Really appreciate the response I’ve had 🙏🏽
@koiservices6694 that's fantastic mate. Subbed to the channel and all. So keep us updated on this one please 🙏
Gutting lessons learned sadly
I lost a few of mine to a heron the other month
I Feel for your client just shows how easy it is to mess up
Sadly my dad lost an estimate £30k worth of Koi a few years ago. He’d raised them for years from babies. Sadly over 2 nights an otter got in from a nearby stream and cleaned it out. Devastating.
That sucks, I saw a article where 1 otter ate 30 kois… I didn’t even know that otters ate koi that’s crazy
What a shame
Its why so many leave the hobby sadly , i lost 27 Aoki fish and 12 dainichi fish all direct imports id picked out myself and kept on throughout years of grading and selling on , it was the 2007 floods that did it to us 😢
Too many chefs.

You are a good man and so sorry to hear about the Koi and feel for the couple who lost all the KOI.
A very very sad watch. I would love to keep koi, but the expense puts me off. I can’t imagine losing a collection like that. Koi are wonderful
One thing. Would she like to choose her own fish? That’s half the fun, but I appreciate what you are trying to do
Wow, what a nightmare my heart goes out to her. She must feel terrible. Our fish are our babies.😢
Wow, when you showed me or us the pond, my chin hit the ground and it’s still there😳
sorry for your loss. how do the koi get these parasites?
Very interesting video that was.the man obviously knows his stuff.
Try Gloucestershire koi rescue bud , usually has loads of koi to rehome , gutted for you ,best of luck
We also lost all of our koi around 50+ it’s devastating we have around 30+ small fish left we don’t understand why this happened 😢
These are beautiful creatures, they all look like they have individual personalities. I know nothing about these fish, why are they so expensive?
@@kellywalker4494 hi Kelly 👋🏽 thanks for watching and commenting 🙏🏽 honestly Koi are like Dogs , and you are right they all have different personalities , and they are quite intelligent too . Like dogs , there are breeders who breed koi , the cost goes up as the quality , same as doggies .

You can use PP as a topical treatment with a wet swab without completely saturating the koi with PP.
I put them in a small quarantine pool and treat that I put each fish in for five mins
Prayers for the fish!

There's a pecking order, the A Koi is the leader and down the line, number four is to be sacrificed if attacked.... He's the D Koi...

Devastating...
