I was so surprised at how fast this movie went by. For an hour fifty min film where it's almost all dialog, as you pointed out, not once did I feel the run time. Typically I'm checking my watch at the hour mark of most movies 😅 I also love how much they leave up to interpretation, since that was a major point in the actual narrative
Yo. I loved everything about this video.. this is my first one I watched of yours and I definitely (already) subscribed.. I really appreciate how you give detail and commentary without giving away the entire plot.
Thank you for what you brought up at 3:15. I wanted to see this movie with my mom who has a very close relationship with God, I was just worried if it attacked or mocked religion. But considering it sort of challenges the idea of faith instead, that's a much more interesting concept. Great review!
I saw this tonight and I loved it!! Grant was phenomenal. It was very suspenseful, good tension, intellectually stimulating, philosophical, cerebral, creepy, and thought provoking. Third act was surprising and very well written. Very unique script and excellent dialogue that keeps you engaged. We need Hugh in more suspense, thriller, and horror.
Thank you for another great review. I’m planning on seeing it this weekend. I’ve enjoyed Hugh Grants entire filmography, but have found his recent work really interesting!
My top 5: The Omen (original) Rosemary's Baby (original) The Wicker Man (original) Midsommar IT (Original but remake was pretty good)..I saw this when I was seven and Im still scared of clowns at 46 lol
I also loved it and agree with you mostly. Honestly I didn't have any issues with the ending. It's very very open ended and yes, does get a little slashery but I was all in.
I'm going to try to see this over the weekend I'll watch this video in full after that. I'm glad horror movies are getting some talented stars in them, it makes them scarier with believable acting.
Night On Elm St ( Freddy is terrifying) SAW Part 1 ( we didn’t know the fate of those captured !) Terrifier ( Art the Clown 🤡 is relentless !!!) Texas Chain Saw Massacre The Hills Have Eyes
Demon Knight was my favorite movie as a kid. I always wished we could have gotten a demon knight series. Only HBO could have done it right. What if demons werent the only beings who wanted the key? I envisioned a series like supernatural but less made for tv, and more dark and graphic like game of thrones or the sopranos. And I also thought it would have been cool to have different demon knights throughout the run. Just kill them off when the viewer totally didnt expect it. Maybe its still possible who know.
@travisjohnson622 Everytime I'm Asked My Favorite Horror Films Demon Knight Is Always There I Used To Wanted To Get That Hand Tattoo When I Was A Kid Oh Yeah Check Out This Movie If You Haven't Saw It Bordello Of Blood (1996)
Would you compare Hugh grant to robin Williams in one hour photo? They probably couldn’t stick the landing because Hollywood wouldn’t green light the film if the girls didn’t win. Still going to see it though
Its corking mate. Saw it in Scotland last week. What a performance from Hugh Grant! And the other 2 kids. We talked about it afterwards. I agreed with him on religion. Lol. What can I say without spoilers!
*spoilers* You may have missed the point of the ending. It's left up to our interpretation. If you believe her friend can come back to life in order to fulfill what she did at the end, it's playing with the audience on the faith aspect. You have to make a leap to accept the idea that actually happened. In my eyes the ending was her dying as laid out by the prophet earlier in the film. Her Cell phone doesn't have service despite being outside and she hallucinates the butterfly which was referenced a few times earlier.
I was disappointed, I thought a movie that would spend about an hour discussing philosophy and faith would of had a more interesting ending. Or at least the villain would have an interesting motivation for his actions. This film had neither to me
The film is most definitely OVER-HYPED! The stupidity of the characters was difficult to stomach, and the storyline was absolute thrash! Keep your expectations grounded, as most of the reviews are based on fanaticism.
Why must people like you call others names or claim them to be something just because they like something you didn’t. Can people not just like a film because of the acting or storytelling? How would you like it if someone called you a name or something that you’re not because you enjoy a film or show? You don’t have to like the film and that’s fine but calling people names isn’t ok. Do better.

Just saw this last night and loved it. It's refreshing to get a film this well-crafted, smart, and unsettling.
Awesome! I agree it's well made and unsettling is definitely a word I would use to describe it!

3. Room 1408
4. Get out
5. The first (saw)
Lol. Hereditary better than all of those put together.
Great list
@@JuliusTurner-hm6ff I didn't like hereditary

I could say Williams was more sinister but both give great performances.
I'm in the minority I thought it was pretty boring and heavy dialogue I found myself zooning out for the first 20 minutes but I love your reviews.

@@alteredendeavor I have a ending video that goes over the ending more in depth ua-cam.com/video/oMREgSZsiEo/v-deo.htmlsi=zKvRJUtZ6oQMv2Vn
@MovieFiles looking forward to it!
It was good. But staggered at the third act.
Yeah the last act wasn’t as strong as the first 2
I was disappointed, I thought a movie that would spend about an hour discussing philosophy and faith would of had a more interesting ending. Or at least the villain would have an interesting motivation for his actions. This film had neither to me
💯💯💪🏿💪🏿
Lots of reviews are saying 2nd half is a major let down.
Depends. The film really slams religion, so if you’re super religious, you may not like the last half
I wouldn’t say it was a let down, but definitely not as strong as the build up.
You clearly missed the ending. There is a twist and you clearly didnt catch the twist
I made a video detailing the ending, so I didn’t miss it ua-cam.com/video/oMREgSZsiEo/v-deo.htmlsi=-KuwkjxdaXkfpWx2
Actually don’t believe the hype. It’s a 2 1/2 star movie.
Heretic is an awful, boring load of crap.
Go back to watching your jumpscare fest horror!!! LMFAO
This movie ain't nothing but Saw mixed with Hill House.
