This war cost Tanzania over 1 million dollar a day. Huge amount for an african nation at the time. Tanzania went into serious depression for the freedom of Uganda. And after they had secured the peace they just left. Not invading a sovering nation for no longer than they had to. Rispect to real heroes!
There was no freedom. Tanzanians just traumatized Ugandans.
@@peoplesperson4132 What are you talking about. They pulled out after they defeated your army. That is freedom
@@taskforceknight9336 ask Ugandans and you will know the impact the soldiers made on them the people that were raped amongst others
@@peoplesperson4132 then why didnt u side Amin's army to resist
U mean after looting raping women? ..this is the reason why ugandans dispuise kiswahili todate only the army still uses it
My Ugandan friend shared his story.
That when the Tanzanian Army arrived their Village. They immediately welcomed and embraced the soldiers right away.
Respect Tanzania ..❤️🙏
I just had to laugh about your name mr. Protein 🤣 😂
@@deogratias1111 😂😂😂😂
Tanzania forces are always to be cheered in enemy lands because we are disciplined and respectful to non fighters.
Y'es brother most honourable military in world!
My dear you were not around by that time these guys routed everything they could see thay used to put roadblocks and kill civilians for small money
Your so called discplined soldiers raped a ugandan woman before me.
Tanzania ❤️❤️
Respect and absolute protection for the ‘un armed’, whether civiliana or military, is what has earned Tanzania forces such honor for discipline all over Africa
I was a student at jinja and witnessed this war and saw amin soldiers retreat in APC and army trucks towards eastern Uganda

Hi everyone, this could be irrelevant but doing this for love. I have a cousin now 40 years who has tried searching for her father but in vein. We were told he was among the Tanzanian soldiers that came around Uganda to fight against Amin. Her mother by then was a resident of mbale district but passed on when my cousin was one year old and she was brought up by our grandmother. Before her father left for Tanzania after the war, he left some personal details but were missed placed and tracing him has been in vein. I love my cousin so much and the greatest gift I can give her in life is a reunion with her father or family. Honestly I still don't know how to go about it but am hopefully that the search will be fruitful some day. Am open to suggestions or clues of how to go about this.
I'm very sad about that
He welcomed in tanzania
atleast do you have the full names OF the Dad or grandmother or mother
or a picture OF your Cousin when she was still Young
Plus can you give us the address or any documents which were left by the father.so that we can help the process
When my dad was young he was drafted and was under training of Tanzanian army in case if Tanzania needed additional soldiers or Uganda got upper hand then people like my father were ready to defend the country.
This country has gone through horrible things. How I wish Ugandans fall on their knees and cry out to God to give them a good future, so that in Jesus' Name, they will be saved forever
Amen Only Jesus can save Uganda
Amen 🙏🙌 I am tired 😫 of seeing 😭 people dieing
That feeling coming back at home after a war
Great achievement
These aren’t Ugandan troops, they’re Ugandan exiled Amin threw away
thes guys are using/wearing equipment from like 6 wars. i see alot of ww2 shit, us/german /russian. crazy
Stand before them then let them be fired at you and we see if your keyboard mouth would exist, skink!
@@petronasken7504 what are you talking about idiot
0:19 Tanzanian soldiers looks like Wehrmacht!!
Tanzania used to be a German colony before ww1 there are still German words in the Swahili language
Completely no! They look like Soviet soldiers ! Wehrmacht look different.
They look more like Soviet soldiers or French Colonial troops.
Probably just Soviet equipment they're using.
I noticed too, the Wehrmacht, looked smarter though.
They look more like soviet soldiers
What followed that war was worser than before that war. I am a living witness.
Compliment au pays della Tanzanie bravo pour votre liberation 💖
Ciao Amin.
Look the way walking in lines this means they are well trained soldier and very discipline
I don't how to get in touch with Netflix guys. I interviewed on of the soldiers from this video. He has documented every detail from the war. Names, hours, gps coordinates and prices tactics used to conquer Amin. His story would make a great movie
Why not tell us about it instead your comment will blow up
It's not really easy to get in touch with Netflix unless you know someone who already has a relationship with them. It would be easier to get in touch with UA-cam channels that talk about history or someone that promotes African history (or history in general) to make a documentary first. I think that would be a better first step. I'm not an expert so just take it as an opinion.
There are several UA-cam channels willing to pay for the information. Look at the historical channels
We welcomed everything comes on our way .may be we inherited this habbits right from our predecessors
Wabongo noma sana
I was 15 years but these Tanzanians after the war killed Ugandans for small money because obote under the command of paulo muwanga abandoned these Tanzanians
1:20 type 59 tank
not T-55?
@@KelvinDicksoncheckthisout Tanzania got quite a few Chinese Tanks in the 70s, however type 59 is indeed just a Chinese version of T-54/55

The egos of these dicatators are so big that they start invading their neighboring country only to end with them running away and losing their power,Bloody Pol Pot really thought he could handle Vietnam.ended up living in the jungle.😅
Hmmm well equipped soldiers despite being ages ago
Its just like Vietnam invaded Kampuchea and got rid of its blood thirsty murderous tyrant Pol Pot.Good job by the Tanzanian armed forces.

The world was fed up with Idi Amin, the powers that be supplied Tanzania with all the firepower needed to take Uganda
No no that's not true, during those years Tanzania was almost isolated by powerful countries because it was a socialist country. On the other hand figures like Gaddafi helped Amin directly
Kenya avoided this war coz we can always place trade embargoes and blockades on Uganda. Tanzania was willing to do what we weren't and we commend them to this day.
Dude, the USA sent a battle ship to mombasa and jets streaked along Ugandas borders as a show of force.
not so brave when its not old female or kids are they
Yup.Ugandan army very good at terrorizing their own citizens but ran away when faced by another country's army eh?

Amin tried to invade Kenya but by then we had a strong leader the late Jomo who warned him of ruthlessness if he tried to.
@@petronasken7504 ive never heard of that...
I remember that war. The authorities of Kenya gave permision to the Tanzanian troops to enter 20 klms into their own territory, just to help them finish with that crazy dictator of Uganda, Indi Amin Dada, who was a threat for every neigbour country.
@@petronasken7504 kenya just sent APs to deal with idi amin soldiers who were about to cross into kenyan territory
