I feel that on the clothes. I have some of the same clothes from high school. I also feel guilty spending money on clothes especially because part of me is like I don’t “need it” even if they are wearing out or don’t fit my style as much anymore. I’d love to rebuild my wardrobe over a year to fit my personal style better. I hope you can get away from the stress and anxiety about buying new clothes and get excited about choosing pieces you love.

Ha I can't wait til after the wardrobe is done and only need to do occasional updates every season. Glad you can relate. Guess I'm not the only one!!

I like your attitude so much! I bought this book, and struggle with how patronizing she feels sometimes, and the projections about "not being able to deal with money" because I am in a good money place, but wanted to be in a better one... I know there is some good in it, and it is just so much work for me to filter it out :/

I agree with you. She has a very defined target reader and you and I don’t fall into that target. Still there were some tidbits I was able to walk away with that were brand new to me unlike other books that just rehash the same thing in different words. I read books to find new ideas. Many times I’ll walk away with only 1-2 ideas from a 200 page book and those ideas were only 10 pages in the whole book. I find that’s the norm.

Yeah - That's accurate! The difference with most books is the other 190 pages aren't painful.... I know she is a sweet person and trying to be helpful, but I get the impression she gives the reader very little credit and I found that insulting.
What I really want is a marriage between this and traditional finance books... I plan to gradually skim the rest of this one to see if there are any good nuggets outside of relabeling budget categories... then either donate or burn.

I heard 15y ago that couples more easily discuss sex than money. I've found that to be wholly entirely true even (or especially) after 8y of marriage. Totally devastating embarrassments from money are needless. Bash that shame indeed.

Bitcoin, commodities, dividend investing, how to balance your portfolio, all those topics are interesting to me- keep up the good work, Annie!

Davy Yap has a channel that is like yours. She doesn't get many views, but she shows energy and enthusiasm like a champ.
