Volunteering at Cheetah Experience, I got to baby sit a couple of young African Spotted and Black Leopard Cubs. Due to their young age; 12 weeks, and their vulnerability, these cats are baby sat around the clock. It was a joy, but requires a high demand of your attention, patience and training.
Aurora is a spotted leopard and she loves sitting, playing, and falling asleep on your lap. It is her choice to sit with you as we are asked NOT to pick them up unless they are in danger, like climbing to the tops of the fence. Leopards are climbers.
Aurora loved snuggling between my legs to play and take naps. I give her some soothing talk and some belly rubs to get her to fall asleep. It worked, besides the rude awakening from Nova, the black Leopard cub who pounces on her. Nova is 14 weeks old in this video.

Omg, she's so cute.
VERY! Thanks for watching.
CUTE!!!
She is absolutely beautiful and adorable. You're so lucky to babysit her, I'm jealous of you :). What a marvelous video, thank you so much for putting a smile on my face with these sweet images of this girl leopard
+breadandcircus1 Super glad you liked it. There's nothing like baby animals to brighten anyone's day. Thanks for watching.
I really love your fantastic videos, Dolph
Acceptable use of a selfie stick
Aaron Teitelbaum lmao 😂😂😭
"catatonic bliss" I see what you did there :)
When our cats are on our laps and they have *NO INTENTION* to move *_WHATSOEVER,_* especially when they're fast asleep and *_SOOO CUUUTE_* and we're basically stuck there for...the rest of our lives because the cuteness weighs too much(lol, only partially kidding there😆😻), we call that being *" CATATONIC"* 😆😻💖😻😆💖😻😊
That is one seriously blissed out little baby!
This cub stole the show. What a beautiful cub and she knows it Dolph.Like her famous namesake she would light up anyone's life and you were lucky enough to have her sleep in your lap.I like the care paid to them:and the fact that the choice is *theirs*
and this is your reward:all the hard work put in has reaped dividends with this beautiful footage and one day she'll walk proud and free knowing that her beauty brightens the savannahs and their other habitats.Incredibly beautiful.High fives to you both.
Look at those icy blue eyes!
Are you eye-balling me with those baby blues Swofford!?
Toby Gunn Hahaha!
I wish there were a way to keep them in cub form forever ever 😅
Got a Savannah cat
It's so cute I could eat her I know it sounds bad.
I would love to hold and cuddle her with lots of hugs and kisses!
She's beautiful! Those eyes! What a love! 😊
You, Mr. Volker, are one seriously fortunate man to be able to spend so much time with & bond with these glorious creatures. I've always been a fan of all types of cats, but you've turned me into huge fan of cheetahs. Aurora here is too cute!!
Glad you enjoy cats. They are special and no more so than the cheetah. I had no idea cheetahs were this way before I met them either and was very surprised and thankful. Makes me want to save them even more.
Good lord that cat has absolutely no worries in life. Why did I have to be a Human.
Life can be great for animals in captivity when properly cared for, respectfully interacted with, enriched, and loved.
@@CheetahWhisperer This. Right here. I get sick and tired of armchair biologists in the comments of videos like these who shriek and scream about people taking care of 'non-domesticated' animals, and holding The Wild™ up as some sort of paradise for animals.
This, all while conveniently forgetting that even our domesticated dog initially came from someone, thousands of years ago, likely having a scared, lonely wolf pup come up to them, and said human being unable to resist the charm of that little face, and giving that pup a new lease on life. One that these modern idiots' precious The Wild™ would have gladly seen snuffed out.
Similarly, that soft kitty curled up and purring in your lap descended from another wild cat that saw people as both a great attractor of prey, and a source of protection, once we saw they helped us out just by being themselves. Those 5 momma kitties those thousands of years back that had their kittens raised by people are probably _the_ most evolutionarily-successful individuals on the planet. They now have _millions_ of descendants working hard to give them the longest, happiest lives possible.
But me? I know I'm no biologist. I just love animals. And I love seeing happy, content animals, even with people. I also understand that we can give animals a better life than the wild could. That's why I'm far more in favor of people domesticating more species of animals, as the closer we live with them, the better of we'll be for it.
She must feel very safe and secure to sleep in your lap like that. I am in the wrong line of work.
Dolph hi.You told me ba few months ago that you would upload a clip of Aurora in the near future but the clip is being elusive:)It would be lovely to know how she is getting on and where she is now;whether she has a family of her own.It would be interesting to see the stages of her life;this beautiful cat.I wish the centre luck with the breeding programme;it is a race against time for the incredibly beautiful animals that suffer through no fault of their own.Thank you for all that people do;proving that,in a sometimes sad and very cruel world, there are those who restore one's faith in humanity~
binge watched your videos.
God Bless animal lovers like you, my friend!
HA! That is so cool. I hope yo enjoyed them. Will have another in 2 weeks.
Can't......resist......the......cuteness...
Man, You got the bestist job...
so cute :3 i wanna pet one so badly
I need to experience this at least once in my life😭😭
Awwwww, such an adorable baby!!!
Such a sweet little furry angel. 😍
What a beautiful girl. Really sweet as a baby.
it cant get any cuter.
I love how much you love these big cats. Thanks for the great vids !
There is a montage of animals on the endangered list;and it makes for very depressing reading because none of the actions that bring nature's children to this point is necessary;there is no excuse for the shame of this list that grows larger at an alarming rate. When you show footage like this and the indescribable happiness it brings people,it makes that list even more insane in its cruelty. It is unthinkable that we might see animals and their habitat destroyed for ever:raising awareness is more important than ever:it will be no excuse if we hear"We did our best." Oh no they didn't, otherwise nature and wildlife would be safe and that list would be consigned to history;not the innocent whose only crime was to come into contact with man. Thanks to everyone who works so hard to give wildlife a chance.`
This is so adorable!
This cute and adorable leopard cub is cute and playful like kitten.
This is probably one of the most adorable things I have seen in a long time
Cute and adorable kitty!!💚🐆👍💚!!
you are spoiling the cheetah with love :)
This is so adorable! ❤
+ImvuSNSD Very glad you enjoyed this. Animal videos are my favorite on the net. That and horror pranks. Your enjoyment makes it worth while for me that I posted it, Thanks for watching.
Dolph C. Volker I love horror pranks too! I'm suscribing for more animal videos ❤
Luck you :)
She's so adorable
lol @ "cat-atonic bliss" .. adorable.
Wow, what a gorgeous, beautiful, perfect CREATION!!!!! 😊💕Please, let's do everything in our power to stop poachers, and to preserve the habitats of all precious, amazing creatures on earth 🌎 THANK YOU ❤️
Thank you for sharing this fabulous little cat with us! She will help save her species!
beyondd cute, i just want to give her a big cuddle... i think iv seen her grown up now in another vid
Seriously, yYou have the best job in the world!
This is too cute for me to handle xD
Interesting that insight on cheetahs when you rub a female stomach how they begin to lick there paws...Like if they had a baby cheetahs....
Peace, Love, Hope, Faith and Joy
Binging on these great videos. Aurora's beauty is beyond words. I love her to pieces !!💕
felines are quite sweet. You can see why the ancient Egyptians and before admired them so much.
This is very sweet but I know the rules about endangered wildlife that they are not meant to be pets. I know your not keeping her as a pet I'm just saying that no one should take these wild cats as pets. It could do more harm than good to them as for any other wildlife species.
she's so beautiful, all i would want to do is hold her like a baby and feed her a bottle of milk, hold her sleeping and when awake i'd bring her toys over and have her play.
Wish people would not come on channel if they don’t like content ...who ever thumbed down these videos needs help
sooooo cute
What is that turquoise strap across her chest?
Many of these tamed Afican cats are harnessed trained so they can be safely transported to various enclosures. The one you see here is a day pen where they are baby sat when this young. Many don't like being carried so to walk them is safer. Those that are harnessed trained also get to walk in the adjacent veld and experience a world outside their daily enclosures. Everything loves a walk. Part of their enrichment for a captive animal that cannot be released. A leapards enclosure must be completely sealed as they can climb just about anything.
omg ;u;
Cute, but the constant camera movement made me sezsick
I know Hobbes is a tiger but that looks like a life-size hobbes
That baby was begging to be tummy kissed!
I know!
No matter the species, kids gonna be kids.
i wanna hug her its adorable
She must have a lot of trust for that guy to fall asleep on him like that. She's so adorable and I want her. Lucky guy.
How is Aurora Dolph? Catatonic bliss big time..she must be a lot bigger now; maybe not so much of a lap cat..maybe yes:who wouldn't want this beauty around You both look so happy here and this is baby-sitting with nirvana thrown in.She brightens any day and it would be nice to know how she is doing.Good for the centre with a golden rule of letting animals choose instead of the other way round, and it's obvious that not a single thing is left to chance..yes,they are sadly on the endangered list through man's arrogance and greed..then you see something like this that restores your faith in humanity.`
+myworldyourmusic11 I'll have a leopard video update of her and her best friend Nova in the next few posts. I did not spend a whole lot of time with them this past visit and focused my attention on the cheetahs. Aurora is beautiful now and still just as nice.... a lap cat. I have her in climbed in my arms and cuddling her. Rules are never pick them up but allow them to come to you... which actually makes the encounter worth that much more knowing they want attention. Otherwise they may bite or scratch you. It's part of that respect of the animal which is key.
Ssooo cute
She's Tame Just like Domestic Cats, This Cub is Playful, Aurora Is a Beautiful Name, I think She's a Princess.
Thx for watching this OLD vid and commenting. Aurora is STILL with her friend the black leopard. Forgot her name. Been awhile. But they are at a new better location with better open enclosure with trees.
@@CheetahWhisperer Sure Sure Welcome But Aurora Must be Grown, Ok
@@DariyonLandellHycheKrattTCl The leopards are not mine and I left this project for another, but I saw her one year and she is small... for a leopard. And probably because she did not get to suckle from her mom and that stunts growth. Not sure why she was taken from her mother.
@@CheetahWhisperer Oh I see that You have Cheetahs You Communicate with Cheetahs
@@DariyonLandellHycheKrattTCl Yeah, for sure... But I'd love to rescue a African spotted leopard. I love leopards. They are super smart and clever but much more dangerous too.
Why would ppl dislike this?
The closest I'll ever get to cuddling a big cat or cub is through you. My one ongoing fear for you, Dolph, is that when you have your own big cat sanctuary, you'll take one too many chances and get mauled. I don't want that to happen!
That's sweet to be concerned about me. Few care about me, just the animals I interact with. But you are right, I will find out how close a bond a man can have with wild cats. Probably not lions, but maybe. The cheetah is non-aggressive and a cat that is far safer to manage than any of the other big cats. But I will consistently use the formula that works... love, respect, and becoming one of them. Nothing is safer than that when interacting and forming bonds with wild animals. Even humans.
Dolph C. Volker You're a sweetheart, Dolph, and I'm glad to know you!♡
Nekomancer Good point. But I saw one of his vids that showed him playing, albeit through fence, with a lion. And I think I hadn't stripped the fat off the bone of my thoughts so was fuzzy about which big cats he might limit himself to. I haven't seen all his vlogs or read all the comments. But yours here was reassuring. Thanks!
Sue Leigh Thanks. Not being an expert here but cheetah has this "house cat" kind of traits compared to other big cats. But if he tries to play with a lion or tiger face to face then I would shit my pants off while watching. I have watched a ton of videos of tamed/trained lions or tigers but they mauled their masters/caretakers. Don't know much about Leopards but I have a 99.9{ trust on cheetahs. :)
Nekomancer It chills me to the bone how consistent the reports of maulings and killings are with those big cats. After "talking" with you, I feel reassured about Dolph and the Cheetahs!♡ Sue
I would so love to foster & care for any baby leopard, lion, bobcat, bear, etc. There is just not this type of opportunity in the US, especially NC. What type of training/education is required to have such a wonderful opportunity? She is so absolutely adorable! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Blessings.
+donna beasley I do this strictly as a volunteer, but keep coming back. I do have a zoology degree and this is the closest I've got to use it. In South Africa, city of Bloemfontein at Cheetah Experience. I do recommend studying biology if you want to make it a career. Not a must but benefits everyone to include the animals.
Awwwwww so cute a d adorable, was laughing through this video,of how cute and funny, this little cub was, give her a kiss from me!!!!🐆🐯
Aurora was SO sweet. There was never a mean or naughty thing about her. She's full grown now and more of a leopard... hiding in wait for tourists with children (inside her enclosure... mind you). I met her again this past summer but she was not as nice to me... clawed into my shirt and gave me a nasty face. I spent the rest of my free time with the wonderful cheetahs, who are MUCH more forgiving.
I'll try and spend more time with them next volunteer visit and brave the brutal initiation these leopards give to those who have been away for awhile, and make friends again. It takes about 3 days of jumping on you, clawing, and play biting until they settle down and given up, but is still quite scarry. Then I can get some nice footage.
I could watch these all day😍
So adorable. I love leopards... and by spotted, you mean without rosettes? The wild is hard on all African wildlife. I know nature is best, but I am glad that this little girl will have a protected life.
Spotted leopard is the common name for them. THey have spots and the rosettes.
Adorable! You dedicate your holiday time to visiting this sanctuary. It's wonderful. I always love watching your videos x
:) There is no other place on earth I'd rather be than helping and interacting with these wonderful cats in need at Cheetah Experience. Thanks for watching my videos!
Blast you are very lucky person, you have a privilege to live the life rest of us only dream about. Sometimes it is quite burdensome to watch your videos because they create massive need and urge to cuddle one of the little creatures you are cuddling. Best of luck to you and your little friends.
I did this volunteering! Saved time and money to do this. Traveled to South Africa. I now go to www.runningwildconservation.org and hope to start a tiny cheetah breeding and release project there in the future. Have two breeding cheetahs and hope to grow. Hope to start maybe in 2-3 years. Volly yourself! Anywhere, not just in SA.
You have a rough job!
She’s catatonic!
She's beautiful
This is too funny and cute. she almost looks like a toddler wearing a leopard costume.
+PumpkinEskobarr :)
i can't
What a cutie!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz :D
BEAN TOESSSSSS
Too cute!!
What Is That Blue Thingy In Aurora Belly
Harness for transport and walks in the veld area. Makes it safer for them when moving from play enclosure to their house or other enclosure. They get walks and have to be tethered to avoid escaping and causing an inncident.
The Retracting claw part was amazing. I didn't know you could do that to cats
Aurora (Borealis)?! At this time of year, at this time of day, in this breeding center, localized ENTIRELY atop your lap?
+Adolf Hitler your name is pretty disturbing!!! i wonder what it must be like to live inside your head
+OLAV WILHELM I wonder what it is like to live inside YOUR head, getting offended at a persons name.
Her markings on her eyes make her look open even when closed!! She is beautiful
Lovely Aurora...baby leopard is the best😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
What strikes me the most is how humanlike the physiology of a cat's body is when seen from the right angle and posed the right way. Other than the unusual (but very pretty) face and the paws for hands, I could almost believe she was a toddler at times.
The maternal instincts of human women to these cubs can be as strong as any human to child attachment. But that may be universal and not just the humanlike qualitites of babies in general. Even wild animal mothers have been known to adopt other baby animals... even different species or even their prey.
Thanks for the reply. As I understand it, this is not unlikely to happen with animals that are smart enough that they normally operate primarily intellectually, using planning and reasoning, rather than being driven by instinct. So of course this would be the higher mammals. Like cats. The reason cats are found naturally across the globe is BECAUSE they're a lot like humans after all, able to adapt to differing environments because of their high intelligence, so they are intellectual and not such instinctual animals, the way they capture their prey requires planning and strategy and thinking and so ironically the intelligence they developed in order to give them the ability to do this, also gave them the ability to choose not to at times. I would be very surprised if a crocodile showed mercy to a prey animal in other words, that's an animal that doesn't have much of a mind so it operates almost 100% on instinct. And then it is of course far more likely to happen if the animal adopting the other, has ample resources (in other words, not living in the wild, starving, with every day a struggle to get food, but rather living in captivity with abundant food provided for no effort). This is why there are so many humans so greatly concerned about the well-being of other species (such as yourself), if we were all living like cavemen and every day was a struggle to survive, you can be sure we would be more selfish and less empathetic to other animals and not so apt to even think of other creatures as "cute", seeing other species as cute is a luxury that is possible because we are provided with convenient modern conveniences. Check this out: ua-cam.com/video/xqkzJoRua5U/v-deo.html There's apparently a zoo in Thailand that gets publicity by having tigers nurse piglets, so it's not only not so rare, it's not even hard.
Kittys....meyowr thanks for being there..
Hello Aurora;you beautiful and extraordinary cub..Aw! I don't know who is in nirvana here;you or the cub,but it is so nice to see you smiling here Dolph, and all kudos to those trying to get their numbers up again.Perfect harmony and it is heartwarming to see.
+myworldyourmusic11 She's a lot bigger now and has caught up to the size of her friend Nova. She is still very nice and a lap cat at 10months. I'll have a new video of her coming soon. Thanks for watching.
I thought she would be:and you can't get away from the fact that she is drop dead gorgeous:it is great hearing you laughing and so relaxed:I'm looking forward to seeing her Dolph. Did you know that the best and most effective stress reliever in the world is stroking animals/interaction of some kind? We support a charity that takes very sick children abroad to swim with dolphins..the change is incredible to see Dolph:their faces light up with smiles and all their inhibitions fall away..it is the same when they go to the sanctuary I told you about:they are wonderful people the time and compassion shown and for that period of time the worries fall away for the children and their families.I'm sure you will have seen similar incidents.Putting the world to sleep-One Animal at a time. The perfect title.Thumbs up Dolph:and good luck with the breeding programme:animals need all the help they can get.
+myworldyourmusic11 It would be a sad world indeed without animals.
Definitely.
omg... she is a total sweetie!!! she is currently in kitty world, where being as cute as can be has its moments
+Alexandra Stratan :=) so tiny and so cute. She's a lot bigger but not full grown yet. I hope to have an updated video of her some time soon.
+Dolph C. Volker cant wait to see
I would love to have this job holy crap!
Beautiful baby! You have a wonderful job! 😍😍😍
So cute !!!! I'm always amazed by your patience
Das adoraboh I loves dis
Thx!
You'd think this would be a video about a leopard cub, but it's really not. It's about a human jizzing his pants.
Dejale dormir en paz. PESADO
lol.. kinda hard to act "disturbed" when you're held down on your back by a turquoise strap across your chess. ..held down tight
Only in America. You ought to learn, that wildlife aint toys for your pleasure.
Your god sent i mean it...Something awaits for you in the kindom of the world you hope all your life....
I have a few questions. What is your career called? What kind of college classes did you take to work with all these amazing animals? And are there only places that take care of big cats, like Cheetah Experience, in Africa?
Instead of shaking the camera and zooming in and out like you had an advanced case of Cerebral palsy, let the cat do the jerking and jumping. .. it would be much less distracting and more entertaining.
Little cutie pie!!❤
:)
my,Son says OMG there are not enough words to describe how cute that is,,take care🐆🐯
Omg I want her she just too cute 😳😶😚😍😍😍
Will she stay sweet natured as she matures? Being a cat she probably needs a keyboard to lie on.
