My pc wont boot into it. Ik the usb drive works because i used it to install windows. Ive also tried 3 other usb sticks and also had no success. Ive tried updating bios but again no success. I unplugged all sata devices to insure that it cant boot into anything else just for testing, And it tells me no bootable source available

There are people who lack other resources and give new opportunities to old junk in order to extend its useful life, it seems to me as healthy (or more) than the energy saving you propose.
@@clemargonzalez1961 once upon a time I did the same. it is not needed now. energy is the main and most important resource. it is better to send old junk for recycling and buy new energy efficient ones.
Otherwise, there is no point in the work done.

@@rokstikk It all depends on the eyes with which such a question is viewed and from the shoes in wich each region is booted. There are places in the world where computer scrap is not recycled. Disposing of such scrap is an environmental problem. Curiously, in such regions, the electricity resource is not yet in crisis (thanks to hydroelectric plants). You need to know South America or Africa (where technology is much expensive)
