- The new MacBook Pro 16-inch is here and Apple has addressed many customer concerns. The 2019 Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch features a new keyboard moving away from butterfly switches (MacBook Pro 15, MacBook Pro 13, MacBook Air) back to a traditional scissor switch keyboard. This is my 2019 MacBook Pro 16-inch unboxing.

Apples MacBooks range from 899.99 to 3k. It depends. Some are even cheaper than 899 on Ebay used and new, and as late as 2018 ones.

I gotta say the 16” has a really satisfying keyboard. It’s not 100% like a traditional scissor switch. It’s like if the butterfly and the scissor switch had a baby and I’m really digging it (and that’s from a guy that loved the butterfly switches and the iPad folio keyboard)

That transition at 6:21 from macbook stereo audio to real lewis was pretty unnoticeable

I love the advancements on these newer MBPs. No doubt, it's a gorgeous, powerful, state-of-the-art machine. However, my Mid-2012 MBP with my 2 SSDs (I removed the CD/DVD drive and put in a HDD Caddy to allow a second internal SSD, so I have a total of 768GB internal memory between my two Samsung 850 PRO SSDs), along with my 16GB upgraded RAM, and the computer's overall rock-solid reliability, makes it difficult to want to spend 3000+ USD (I say that much because AppleCare and accessories are a thing, plus the upgrades on the Graphics card that I would spring for) on a new MacBook when my beefed-up Mid-2012 MBP is still basically wonderful and capable. However, my battery does need to be replaced (not expensive or difficult, I've just opened this thing up so many times and I don't want to anymore lol), and looking at this 800p Non-Retina display does get old. So the temptation is definitely there. It would definitely suck not having a light-up Apple logo on the lid of the machine, but every time I see the screen on one of these new bad boys, I swoon. Thoughts?

As an owner of the new 16 inch MacBook (have been using it for a month now) I can confirm - keyboard performs better as butterfly but is really loud and tbh feels quite a bit cheaper (Dell like) in comparison with older MacBook Pro's (Mid 2015) scissor-type keyboard.
If you use them in person, you would know he is right!

I love my 2015 Macbook for the fact it has a normal keyboard and actual ports, I wish the new ones would at least have 2 usb and an SD card slot. OR ship them with the dongles.

I bought the latest 13" laptop with 512GB of storage 16GB Ram 8th Gen core i7 for $3k. Not the best for gaming but very snappy, powerful and has an amazing battery life.

I think the lack of port versatility turns me off about the new MacBook versions.. i really dont see myself upgrading until they fix this issue which is fine because I’ve been using my 2017 MacBook Air 13inch and it’s great that i have the sd card slot still.

We are testing two new 16-inch MacBook's before doing a rollout across our organization. Under low loads (25% cpu utilization), fan noise will get annoyingly loud. We're not doing any GPU related and more routine work such as: using web applications, debugging web pages, Microsoft Teams conferencing (audio/video) with a handful of people, Photos downloading from iCloud, Mac Mail downloading a new mailbox from Exchange.
We DID NOT notice this on our 2015 MacBooks and this might prevent us from continuing the 16-inch MacBook rollout in our organization.
Interested to hear others experiences.
