- In this video, I will be breaking down the BACKWARDS INSIDE 3 TURNS. These turns can be daunting but with enough practice and trust in yourself you can absolutely accomplish this! With this 3 turn, we sometimes tend to come up to the ball of the foot to complete the turn or we don't turn our hips and get a good check with the turn. We will go over step by step on how to do these backward inside 3 turns to set you up for success.
Stay tuned because next week we will be going over a fun step sequence that will combine all the forward and backward 3 turns into one sequence. Its actually one of my favorites and you will not want to miss it!

thanks! So many good tips packed in a single video!
This was very helpful! Can’t wait to get back out on the ice tomorrow and practice my forward inside 3-turns!
I would love to see a similar in-depth breakdown of rockers and counters as there aren't too many videos on that topic. Thanks Shelly, always informative and easy to understand content!
I will be planning on doing those videos!
Thank you for the video Coach Shelly.
Thanks for explaining details ! I already learned the turn but I will improve it with your amazing tips
thanks for breaking this down in so much detail here. the back insides have been feeling so unnatural compared to other turns. I look forward to trying with special attention to your tips.
Wow so far no one talks about BO3s and BI3s online as detailed as you! 🙌🏻👍🏻 I’m still struggling with lifting my toes up to turn on the back of the blades, any drills I can practice just on that? 😅
You can always start on the boards and go through the motion of the 3 turn slowly. You could also do a backwards 2 foot turn instead of the three turn to make it a little easier. It would be the same only you keep both feet on the ice as you turn
Hi Shelly, thx for tips. Maybe less on-camera talking and more video clip demo while talking.
