The flower growth description during the progression of the seasons throughout the year sounds so poetic. We appreciate that. Observing the tree flowers as it is prescribed here is comparable, then, to listening to different ragas depending on the hour of the day.
Hello, thank you for the useful video. I would like to ask about the flowering. I have the same tree in the garden. It is in Bulgaria where we have four seasons. This spring we had lots of blossoms on the tree. A few months later only some turned into a fruit. Can you tell me please what is the reason of loosing them? Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Thank you for your kind reply.
Even though you see hundreds of flowers on the plant only hermaphrodite or bisexual flowers will develop in to fruit. Climate, variety, nourishment and many other factors control this. Please watch our full length documentary Pomegranate cultivation. You may get answer for your problem.
Hi .requesting you to do a video on EXCLUSIVELY on pomegranate trees showing close angles and details for home gardeners so that they can practice this on there home orchard pomegranate trees. Key things to include When to do it Why to do it And what should be kept and what needs to be prunned off with detail demo. Thanks
That was my thought as well. And the workers being covered with & breathing all that poison will likely not be in the next video because they will be dead from all the spray! I will grow my own without the poison & never buy commercially grown again after watching this!
Nice information sir thanks a lot. Keep sharing such information on pomegranate. We need such tips for successful farming of it. I have also attempted a small orchard with 400 plants in a village in Solan district of HP but don't have essential knowledge about it..
Ok.. My pomegranate tree has been here at my home for 10 years I believe. My tree now in the month of June has many flowers and baby poms on it now...and I feel the limbs are being weighed down..so Its kinda droopy. Q1) Is it ok to trim still to remove the branches from sagging? Q2) or will it shock my tree? I dont have any shoots coming from the ground but this years tree is really full compared to last year. In 2017 we literally chopped all branches and shoots from the pom and last year the tree came back and the leaves and fruit were VERY healthy compared to when we first moved here. Basically in 2015 the fruit was awful! and we trimmed in 2016 and then decided in 2017 to start over with it.. So now this tree in 2019 is beautiful green, no disease and full of flowers and baby poms.. Q 3) How tall are these trees supposed to be?
You need not prune when it has flowers and fruits. Do it after harvest. However if you feel the branches are hanging and reaching ground you can tie it to a pole erected next to it. Normally trees restricted to 10 feet. Above to that is difficult to reach for harvesting etc.
Appreciate the information. Very helpful. I can't understand what he's saying at 6:26 "(something) bigger stems" about the larger branches... It would be very nice if you can tell me what that word is... it sound like "meschant bigger stems". Is it "pinch off bigger stems"?
Murtaza Baloch Pomegranate produce more than 60% male flowers and those male flowers fall in the flowering season but the hermaphrodite flowers remains and make the fruit.

+Kifayat Zehri they dont need fertile soil, soil should have good drainage, otherwise the fruits skin will show blisters or burst oppen before harvesting
i started 12 from seed about one month ago. the seedlings are about 1 inch high and bushy. lucky i could confirm on youtube what seedlings look like. at what size could they be transplanted safely? They are currently in small plastic seedling starter packs, maybe 2 inches deep. I could move to bigger pots, first. i think the longer they can stay in a pot the safer from pigs, dogs, cats, people etc to gain size. thank you. also, what kind of fertiliser do they like and at what age and how much? thank you again.
I have a 5 years old pomegranate tree which grown from seeds , hasn't given any fruits , could you please advice me what I should do in this this regards . many thanks in advance. Mohsen
Unfortunately pomegranates seeds like many fruit trees will almost always not be the same as the parent plant. You will always get inferior fruit or inedible fruit or no fruit at all from seed grown pomegranates trees. If the plant is growing in full sun and getting plenty of water it might just be you got a sterile or fruitless tree. But then I have heard of some seed grown fruit trees taking 5-10 years to fruit. Still you are better of with a rooted cutting or grafted plant or perhaps if you have access to a good fruiting tree graft a bud or stem to your currant rootstock
Same here. I have two plants and they have beautiful flowers but no fruits. However I have mostly shade, but very high temperatures. Greetings from Dubai.
It's not a given that it will always be inferior fruit. There is the off-chance that by simple luck, he gets a fruit that has more of the characteristics he's looking for. It's a very small chance so I get what you're getting at, but I'm just saying not to tell him to throw the towel in until he knows exactly what he's getting. I say the tree is already old enough, took the gamble, might as well wait and see what results of it. Trees grown from seed take longer to bear fruit that trees propagated from cuttings. You just have to wait and see.
