Today i found out that i have this gollum plant (i dod not know the name of it, i bought it in a sale for like 2$) i might try to propagate it, its so resilient
This was a fabulous video on these plants, I’ve recently brought a good specimen of the Gollum and I’ll be following your advice. We are days away from our summer now .... I’ll search out your other videos . I have liked and subscribed from Australia. Cheers Marg
An excellent video and information about caring for this two beautiful jade plants. I enjoyed viewing until the 14:08 end and gave you a big thumbs up. Thank you for sharing my friend.
Not sure if you mention this later in the vid, but I've had a strange, but apparently common issue when propagating a hobbit jade from leaf cuttings. The resulting plants all had leaves like a regular jade plant. I have only been able to propagate a new plant that has the tubular leaves by doing stem cuttings. Every time I've grown one from a detached leaf, it grows with standard leaves.
Also, ooooof, that outdoor beauty you show when talking about blooming and mention maturity! Look at that thick trunk. Hot dang, that's amazing looking.
@@moodyblooms I will watch them all and get back to you ::) I have fake/mini jade (elephant bush), crassula ovata "golem jade" and crassula ovata "hammels sunset" but I would like to learn about and find more, I think they are a beautiful succulent ::)

I bought a really small gollum jade & I've never had one. I'm really curious to kno when they will get a trunk & do I need to do anything to make that happen by cutting, etc... Thanks in advance for any help. 🙂
Please answer this ,id ❤to know,Okay I have 2 of these gollum jade, one is green and one is a lighter green with gorgeous Ted tips, why does one have red and one dosent. And my little one with the red tips has something very odd where there is four little tiny green cups with the red tinge in the middle of them and they are growing completely separate from the main plant connected by a little tiny root? How I wish I could show you a picture have you ever seen this before
Definitely safe! It is my favorite way to propagate. The only way you would get root rot in water is if you did not let the ends callous over before putting it in water.
It could be a few different things..water (over/under), pets, too much sun, etc. Did you happen to watch the video? Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
🎶verry nice and intereseting 🥰👌 I have subscribed to your wonderful channel, I want to see in the future more important and good content too, much success♥️
Excellent. Can you share me the video of Crassula ovata branch propagation in soil mixture, I want to know whether during propagation process the pot should be kept in direct sunlight , once I put the cutting in soil mixture should I water thoroughly then and during the successful rooting till 7 week what will be the. Watering schedule. Share me your video of branch propagation of Crassula ovata. Thank you. Deb, Calcutta.
Cuttings should not be in direct sun as they will not have sufficient roots to be in full sun. They will like bright indirect sun. I let the ends callous over for 3-5 days before putting in soil. I wait to water until they have roots. After that I water once every 10 days or so. I will add a specific propagation video for Jade soon.

I really enjoyed your informative video! I was given a Gollum Jade which came from living in a green house its entire life to my house under a grow light. I overwatered it! Half of the roots rotted. I took it out of its pot and planted it in a root appropriate sized pot. Will it regrow its roots or should I start all over and propagate it?
@@moodyblooms Well I didn't think it was doing well, so I took it out of the pot to check on its roots... here a big fat worm was in the soil and I'm wondering if this is what killed it. I didn't think I ever over watered it as I do have a green thumb. I think the worm ate the root system. SO I let it sit out for a week and just replanted it in a clay pot. Didn't water it. Hope I get some roots. Thanks for asking! 😀
Those are all such cute little plants...my daughter's got some similar ones, but not sure if they're the same. Almost every other day, I'm pulling the stickees out of her fingers. Lol!

I live in London UK and would like to propagate my small indoor gollam as the stems have grown too long and heavy from the leaves halfway down the stem. What season is best to propagate or can it be done at any time of the year???
I am in Southern CA so I propagate year round. Spring or summer is better for cooler climates. If you don't think it will remain upright until then, then I'd def cut.
My Gollum has grown into a bonsai tree but it’s heavier on one side and leaning. Should I prop it up? Try to propagate it and make it smaller? It’s not leggy, just leaning.
You could definitely prop it up. I like to use larger rocks so it looks more natural. Another option would be to make a large chop on the stem propagate, but then you would lose the bonsai look (if that is what you are going for).
