Making Raised Rows with a Troy-Bilt Horse Tiller and Hiller/Furrower Attachment

  • In this video, a Troy-Bilt Horse rototiller with the hiller/furrower attachment is used to created raised rows for planting watermelons and cucumbers. The Troy-Bilt Horse tiller is a fantastic machine for preparing in-ground gardens. The hiller attachment will make raised rows spaced 3ft apart based on the width of the machine.

    Why would my older Horse tiller intermittently lunge forward

      @@warrenperry2455 Possibilities - Tines hitting a rock or hard soil, trying to till too deep into unbroken ground, applying down pressure on the handle bars to force the tiller to dig into hard soil… wheels coming out of gear is also a possibility, although in that case it wouldn’t stop the lunge, the tines would propel it!

    I have a horse also, it’s brutal to operate but it does such a good job, I’ve had it for around 20 years and won’t ever replace it. Great video thanks for sharing.

      They can be almost dangerous especially in tight quarters
