Nice restoration job on that JD 😃
Awesome. That tractor sure is a beautiful sight! Please make more farming videos, loved this.
Nice old 40 you have there, have a 1950 M with all the cultivators use it every summer in the gardens
That is Awesome !👌
I love the sound of that popping John and it's doing a really good job.
Great video, and that’s a beautiful old “poppin Jonny”!
Hey, Excellent job to the lady of the house. You made straighter rows than I can.
I wish my wife Jane would be move into working up garden.
Thank you 😊
Tractor looks great and must be nice to have a wife that drives the tractor
What a beautiful tractor! And your garden bedded up really well.
Thank you!
Good video my friend. I like that JD 40.
That is a beautiful tractor. I had a similar issue of the implement wandering with my disks when I first hooked them up to my tractor, you might want to chain the 2 lower bars to the draw bar to keep the implement from straying makong the rows a little wavy. My $.02
@@southronjr1570 That sounds good to me. Thank you!
That is a really nice tractor. Great job on the restoration and the video

Thank you!
Awe, now you have to wash it.😁. Love the sound of that tractor and beautiful place you have. Glad you let your wife ride your toy and not just prep veggies. Great job my man.
Thank you Sir 😊
That's one excellent restoration job. That's same year I was born.
me also.... 9/7/1954
Wow absolutely beautiful tractor! Great job
We had a '40' for 44 years, it never needed anything but sparkplugs! Sold it when dad retired for 19 times what we paid for it! What an investment!!
oops, 10 times not 19, still awesome little tractor. Beautiful resto.
That's Awesome 👍🏽
Your 40 is a beauty! An inspiration for my 1953 40s restoration.
You have a beautifully restored tractor, and what a joy to see it working your land!
Thank you very much!
What a beautiful John Deere, I had a ‘47 JD M that I restored but it didn’t come out as nicely as yours. Great video, you should get lots of produce from a garden that size.
Thank you!
Hay Brother!
You and your wife are definitely gifted from God. I'm impressed, inspired. God's Blessings to you and your wife and family.
Thank you Brother! And may God continue to Bless you and your Family!
Great video! simple and to the point. perfect for a beginner like me.
And like me. We are leaning together 🙂Thank you!
Thank you for making your video.
That tractor is a beauty
Yes definitely want to lock those sway bars to minimize side to side movement. Also the faster you go the taller the hills. Pick out a spot to line the tractor up with, drop the hammer and don’t look back! Great video, like that sandy soil. Much easier to work than the red clay I have. That’s a good tractor driver you got there.
Thank you
Behind every successfull Man is a tiered Lady lol
Gr8 Vid
😇🙏👍
😁
that is a very nice tractor, i have the tricycle model a year older
That is Awesome 👌

WOW,that is a very nice restoration and it is being CARED for, thanks a million, and your wife also,I know she likes tractors .
Awesome tractor
Yer better half does a excellent job.
Thank you Sir!
Dandy! Just Dandy!
i know earlier your rows arent straight i noticed you dont have stabilizer bars they will keep your rows straight that way implements wont go from side to side leading off !!!😊
Love the detail you put in your video
Thank you!
Good job. I wish we lived closer, I'd ask you to recondition my IH130. Nice beds
Thank you Sir 😊
I like it
Good video. I hope your wife doesn't continue to ride the clutch, as she did the first few rows. New sub, but still have our Md-40, we bought in spring of 53.
We had a talk about the clutch. I believe that problem is solved 😄
I have a 40 also so I love to see your videos. Did you paint it yourself? It looks mint!
The paint is actually a single stage car paint John Deere color.
That thing needs 2 more listers to go behind the wheels. She needs to just turn around and plow back the other way instead of circling all the way around the patch.
Thank you
Put the listers (disks) closer together and put some sweeps behind the tractor tires and you will have v shaped rows like a tobacco field......
Thank you
Thank you for sharing! I've been looking for what implement I need to create rows... so far I've discovered a furrow plow, middle buster, bottom (which I think is the same as turn), Disk plow, chisel, levee, sub boiler, moldboard, reversible... and now a disc bedder. Does anyone know how well they work in a mostly clay-type soil?
Where do you get original parts for that beautiful tractor? My Father-in-law has the same tractor (it is a "40 U") and it is all original but unrestored. He is giving it to me and my wife as he can no longer climb up onto it. I want to restore it, but work it as you guys do yours.
You and your wife will enjoy that Tractor. As for parts. Searching On- Line.
How tight can you make the furrows without running the other one over
If I am real careful. I could draw them at least a foot plus closer together.
Where can I order or obtain the bedder attachment, what brand is yours thank you
Hopefully this will help. Here is the Part#CRBK14.
I got one just like this for this year. Should the lower arms be locked in to orevent sway?
I have the for rowing attachment also.
Maybe so, I am still learning.
@@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 The sway chains can be moved to keep it from straying side to side. There should just be bolts through the drawbar support.
