The TFLGR process helped me because my first 3 streams I had no clue my mic audio wasn’t picking up so basically I was talking to myself and nobody could hear me. Glad I learned from it

I'm told a lot by my friends that I should start streaming since I'm apparently quite enjoyable to watch in a discord vc. I'm really considering it but I'm glad I found your videos.

Good morning Cody, its GrandmaPolly here again. Well I did my first strream and it was so awkward. No worries I'll heed your tips and get better. At the moment I only have 1 monitor. I will get another very soon but what I wanted to ask is .....Can i have the webcam image and chat box over my actual game as I play? I found it was choppy as I alt tabbed to chat to my friend who was watching and helping me get it going.

great question! not sure on why that would be, I'd recommend asking in the botrix discord tho to see if its a bug
Regarding a previous video, I do not recommend setting hotkeys. You can't use those keys for anything else while OBS is open. I've accidentally started a live stream several times today while doing other things. It took me a minute to figure out every time I pressed those keys a stream would start.
I'd recommend using the num pad keys or whatever keys you're not going to use - also might be worth scooping up a stream deck if that's the case haha
@@CpawsMusic Never heard of a Stream Deck before, so I looked it up. That looks like a good solution. I'll have to consider that. Thanks. The only hotkey I have set right now is to mute and unmute mic/aux 3. Probably the only thing I really need to control while I'm playing a game. I have a noisy house, so if I'm playing during the day, I unmute to say something. Speaking of which, I was confused by a previous video. We created another mic audio and set the audio settings for that. Then, we had 2 mic/aux. Wouldn't that cause an echo? I had to uncheck the track boxes for the first mic and mute it then just used the one we set up mic/aux 3.
yeah you only need 1 mic/aux if you're only using 1 mic @@MidnightStalker1
@@CpawsMusic I'm using my built-in mic on my laptop. Not the best option. I do have another cheap mic somewhere. I hope to someday be able to invest in stuff. I'm also a game developer and much of my failures has to do with having money. I've listened to my streams. Not very good quality, especially on the mic. I think mainly because it's not close enough. Sound goes in and out as if sometimes the mic can hear me and sometimes it can't.

It can definitely be pretty hard to get people talking sometimes (I sometimes even find that it's harder when I'm talking about the game) I recommend trying to switch up the topic after a bit if no one is biting and asking simple questions like 'did anyone do anything fun today'? Also sometimes people just want to lurk and I can respect that, so really you just have to try your best. Im going to be playing a little niche and that notstalgic strategy games such as cnc, rome tw, starcraft civ, then on my 2nd stream playing old fps games we loved that fizzeled out in the hope that i can get the trend going again not streamignn for money just for fun and the buzz of playing older strategy ganes and its not because if my oc my oc is liget a terminator lol could run for games of cod at once on it lol but thanks for the tips bro
