My mom dropped me and a buddy off at the "Princess" theater in Oxford, Ohio, to see A Nightmare on Elm Street. We were only 11, and they wouldn't let us buy the tickets, so we had to run back outside to catch mom before she pulled out of the parking lot. Luckily, we were able to catch her, and she went in and bought our tickets, and the rest they say is history.
Growing up I LOVED Freddy. So much so that my uncle was cool enough to get me a full body, life sized poster of him from the Dream Warriors movie. So you can imagine my surprise when I got home from school one day to find my poster was gone from the outside of my bedroom door…. My mother, the only one home at the time, had no idea what happened to it. Remains a mystery to this day 🤣😂
For anyone who is really into Nightmare On Elm Street, there is a 4 hr documentary “Never Sleep Again” that covers the entire series. An absolute must watch for any Elm Street fans.
@ Thanks for this comment! I usually spend the second half of October on a horror kick, and Never Sleep Again is always on the playlist. This year life just got in the way, but you’ve inspired me to make up for what I’d missed this year.
The finger's squirting green was Freddy taunting Tina in the back alley if I remember. I even bought the BETA tapes the video store got rid off, when VHS became mainstream. Yeah, I'm old. Still have my plastic glove from my show (fair) bag in the 80's and T-shirt.
The Exorcist was the only movie that sorta scared me as a kid in the 80s or that crazy chick in Pet cemetery but Freddy was definitely my favorite out of all the 80s slashers
Great review. This was one of my first Neca figures. Freddy is my favorite slasher. As an 80's kid I watched ANOES young. I wasn't scared of him, but I thought he was creepy and cool. The missing finger hand is from a scene where hes tormenting Tina and says this is god (referring to claw glove) and cuts off his fingers. The masked face is supposed to be Tina and he wears it for a second to torment Nancy and then throws it. Now Rev Kaine from Poltergeist 2 scared the crap out me. Return of the Living Dead was a fun scary film. I hope Neca gets the license to make a Tarman figure.
Great review. Freddy was always my favorite until Ghostface came around and the only reason why Ghostface is my new favorite horror character is that Ghostface was based on actual events. But when I was a kid Freddy was the horror character for me and like you I begged my father for the really good Freddy mask and same with me my father said your going to be Freddy for the rest of your childhood for Halloween. And I must say now that I'm in my 40's I collect real Freddy gloves and I have all kinds of props as well as figures but I'm more of a collector of props. I love Neca for their figures though and the figures I do collect are Neca. My wife hates coming in my horror room cause all she sees are full scale Chucky doll's and all kinds of horror weapons and masks 😂 I'm actually waiting for a new Chucky doll to come in the mail, I should have my own channel for my props. I might open up one but awesome review. I'm a new subscriber to your channel and I love your reviews. And thank you for recommending the Elm Street band I'm gonna check them out.
Awesome Freddy Kruger figure. Freddy is my favorite horror icon. I first saw NOES 3 Dream Warriors when I was 9 years old & was hooked. I was even Freddy Kruger for Halloween that year with a Ben Cooper Freddy costume & a generic Freddy glove (couldn't get the screen accurate glove)
Freddy Krueger never scared me but now Candy Man scared the hell out of me as a kid. My family stopped at this rest stop in Illinois when I was a kid. Let me tell ya the restroom was dirty had graffiti on it the light was flickering and I swear that the Candy Man was going to grab me... I feel different now but back when I was younger Candy Man scared the hell out of me
Freddy and Jason were to me legendary horror characters but still comedic. My movie children of the corn. My grandparents lived close to an Amish community at the time I didn't know about Amish, so I would see the kids and was freaked out cause of the movie and their house was surrounded by corn. There was always a nope not going there feeling about visiting the grandparents lol
I love this review. Finally some Freddy unboxing. He's number 1 in my opinion. Back in 01 I had the 18 inch Freddy figure from Neca. Kept it in box for many years until I sold it 😢. There's a documentary that just came out a month ago on bluray called Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares. Its the Robert Englund story. I think you and your dad should check it out. Very insightful story. I think maybe your dad might change his opinion about Robert Englund. Thanks for sharing Kyle 👍
I'm a Michael Myers fan, myself. The first Halloween is the best slasher film of all time, in my opinion, and the 2018 release was a damn good sequel (Kills and Ends were disappointments). Plus, Michael has the greatest horror theme of all time.
Oh! The extra face is from the first movie, when he was chasing Nancy and pretending to be her buddy Tina. You see it right before she runs up the stairs and her feet sink into them
my boys (7 & 5) get scared if i even mention the names “pennywise” or “chucky”. they also dont enjoy some of the selections in the neca section on some visits lol!
Freddy also killed his wife and daughter. For Freddy vs Jason it was either inadvertently or intentional they turned Jason into a hero/good guy. Because when you're a child molester/killer there's no way you're not going to be the villain. Jason was just a killer. Thinking about it now Jason was a tortchured sole. A tragic figure if you will.
@patrickmcgavin2245 Okay please watch Freddy's Dead The Final Nightmare. Spoiler alert: Maggie, (Freddy's daughter) was adopted into a new family. She grew up to be a therapist at a teen center.
2:38 Is that Ace or Lemmy as a little pup? I have a McFarlane toys Freddy. He is still in the box. A really cool piece I'm not willing to part with right now. The never used the M word in the movie, they always said child killer. To be fair about the toothbrush mustache, you could call it a Charlie Chaplin mustache.
I have A Freddy Krueger Neca in my Collection the one I have is A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2 Freddy's Revenge one and i also have Ash and Jason Voorhees
brother I feel bad because with all my savings I was able to buy a shawn michaels elite it has white boots the truth is that when it arrived I didn't like it very much and I wanted to sell to buy the ultimate but when I realized it was stained with pen on the boots and they told me that lost almost all its value😿
There is no such thing as a butcher glove with knives on it. Butchers wear stainless steel mesh gloves so the knife blade (that they hold in their other hand) doesn't slip and cut their skin. Freddy Kruger made his glove in the movie lore as his own sadistic killing tool which was shown countless times throughout the series. Perhaps someone was screwing with you as a kid or your memory has combined two things together. You simply won't find such a thing existing through google searches.
Dude, you and I are roughly the same age… (43?) I had that same Freddy mask lmao! I have so many nostalgia flashbacks watching your videos. And…. I had the same experience with Crystar as well, had it, loved it, had no idea who he was! But loved his helmet accessory!
NECA's Part VII Jason Voorhees is easily my favorite NECA figure. So many accessories and his unmasked face looks incredible.
Absolutely amazing figure
Freddy is my favorite horror movie character great review for this figure
I remember the kids on the bus talking about Freddy. I used to watch a show called Freddy's Nightmares.

Oh yeah... Now you're getting into my wheelhouse!
Yeah, that head sculpture is perfect.

Love this figure. I had the orignal release too with the extended arms 😊
good unboxing and review, brother.

Awesome figure an review!🎉
I'm starting a miscellaneous shelf and this is the freddy I went with. I was going to do one Jason, but ended up getting 2
my boys (7 & 5) get scared if i even mention the names “pennywise” or “chucky”. they also dont enjoy some of the selections in the neca section on some visits lol!
The-original-Nightmare-on-Elm-St-and-part-3-and-FreddyvsJason-are-def-the-best-Freddy-movies

Evil Dead is still scary to this day.
I have the 2014 version of this... is the 2022 reissue any different/better?
I've had that freddy for years

Correction he only killed his wife as portraid during a flashback in Freddy's Dead.
@@ForEternia he did kill his daughter too. Because she witnessed him killing her mom.
@patrickmcgavin2245 Okay please watch Freddy's Dead The Final Nightmare. Spoiler alert: Maggie, (Freddy's daughter) was adopted into a new family. She grew up to be a therapist at a teen center.
@@ForEternia I didn't watch final nightmare. In the flashback scene it alluded Freddy killed his daughter. That's what I believed all these years.
@@patrickmcgavin2245 My point exactly. You don't know what you're talking about if you didn't watch the movie. 🤦♂️
