This is sad it the same way today where black people go to there church and white go to there church. I have traveled to many churches it's still the same l. This was in 1935. Now it 2024. Nothing changed.
There are us white folk that was raised up by beautiful black women ~ my babysitter was a black women who was my momma more then my mother. She was everything to me. My Daddy drove the trolley cars after the War in Washington DC . He worked two shifts . Got up at 3:00 in the morning came home at 11:15 and napped for a couple hours then when back to work. My mother was a Secretary for a lumber company. We spent a lot of Time down South , in the country .. we milked our own cows put up our own vegetables, had chickens , hogs , sheep , a few horses , plenty of cats and plenty of dogs always showing up on the farm . Churned our own butter , made our own cream. Had the best well water for miles and miles around. She took care of me from the time I was six weeks old .., then I got married at 17 had kids by 20 and she came to live with us ~ . She was the most loving woman , taught me everything I know. Skin color doesn’t tell me who a person is. Their actions and words do. She lived to be 109 years of age. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her. She was one of 9 sisters. She had given birth to a little girl who tragically got pneumonia and passed when she was only 3 months old . This was just before she started taking care of me. I was her daughter and she was my momma. Nothing in this life will ever change that. I am so grateful for her love. My childhood wasn’t the greatest and she made it full of love and trust. I learned all about how to cook too! And I mean really cook.
