Always liked Pauline Collins..love her soothing voice. I never heard of The Ambassador. As an American growing up in NY, my dad introduced me to nostalgia movies, reading, classical music, history and Masterpiece Theatre on PBS out of Boston where they play British performances. Have loved English and UK older performers ever since.
So nice to see a show which is well written and easy-to-follow. Felt like I was really engaged in the story. Appreciated the minimum of violence. I hope you can post more of these episodes. Thanks.
So glad to stumble on a show that I find stands on higher ground despite the difficult circumstance a human being in power & responsibilities to her country & people as a whole, she has to maintain her honesty & morality in it all. Thank you for uploading this movie.
@@dianakidd4219 It’s actually all the multiple choice test questions we have in the States. Which is why my folks sent my late brother and me to the UK for our schooling. Yikes, those school tests were so much longer and harder than anything stateside. But it paid off.
@@dianakidd4219 Not surprised. It’s scary bad in USA now. And did you notice: colleges are starting to do away with SAT and Achievement tests? The average British O Level and certainly their A levels (equivalent to our grades 9 through 12 here in USA) is far superior to our High Schools.
@@ccasey1904 I know a superintendent of schools in Alabama. They lowered the test scores three times so kids could get into college, you’re right. They’ve done away with test scores to get into college now. I’ve talked to recent graduates. It’s startling how illiterate some are. The dumbing down of America started in the 80’s, and has worked well. The lesbian who’s the head of the teachers union only cares about shoving propaganda on kids. When the senate reads school books back for grade school kids to the head of teachers union, she tries to defend it. It’s straight up porn. How to give oral sex, how to do anal sex, and this is grade school kids. Stealing their childhood.
Excellent score. Pauline Collins is a treat, probably now the most formidable British actress; she is so focused with her eyes, always looking intently while listening. Sadly, some of the actors were unintelligble.
Great show,I hope more episodes are on the way. I saw Pauline Collins in the movie,Shirley Valentine, fantastic performance! Looking forward to seeing more of her in future episodes. 🇨🇦❤️🏴
Thank you for sharing this series! Have enjoyed Pauline Collins in a fav movie called ‘Quartet’ & Denis Lawson in another fav TV series, ‘New Tricks’. They are part of why I enjoy British acting so much.
Thanks so very much for this. It's one of my fave series ever. Hope you have the rest of it? Pauline Colllins is so great in this. Very underrated actress IMO.
OMG! I found season 1!!!! I found season 2 first, but no problem, this "starved for decent British drama" 🇨🇦ian, will very happily watch the seasons in reverse! It is a shame that the actual Ambassador found this programme too much to compete w, & that's why there's merely 2 seasons of this show, but again, I'm happy just to have found tneed two seasons! Thanks for the upload! It's VERY much apprediated!...✌🤘🇨🇦
Its been a long time since I have seen Pauline Collins in a good drama. Please post the rest of the series and if you can't do this, please let us know and not leave us dangling! Thank you.
Saw this years ago, wanted to see it again, but nowhere to be found. And, voila! Thanks In case you are taking suggestions and it would be possible/safe for this channel, there is the 1996 miniseries, "The Politician's Wife," Juliet Stevenson, that is another brilliant but impossible to find show.
Memories of an oil platform I was working on in Loch Kishorn, had its mooring cables stroked by a submarine. Initially denied of course. Fortunately, the concrete platform (Ninian Central) was significantly more stable than a trawler.
I first saw 'Innocence' from this series. Excellent! A man spends 7 years in jail for wrongful conviction of murdering his wife. He is released....and the drama begins! Enjoy!
The Ambassador (TV Series 1998-1999) imdb 7.1 Harriet Smith (Pauline Collins), the new British ambassador to Ireland, desperately wants to make her mark in this historically-difficult posting and try to put her husband's tragic murder behind her. She wants to be just and fair in her dealings with the Irish government and try to make the relationship between the two governments less adversarial in nature. The situation is made considerably worse for her and her trusted assistant John Stone (Denis Lawson) by her son Nate, who refuses to accept the consequences of her new ambassadorial role and still blames her for his father's death. S1.E1 ∙ Innocent Passage - imdb 7.0 The new British Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, Harriet Smith, arrives in Dublin to discover that the Irish government is accusing the British of sinking one of their ships in the Irish Sea. Smith partners with MI6 agent John Stone to uncover the truth.
When I went to your Real Drama site today on YT to look for more episodes of The Ambassador, I found the following message: "3 unavailable videos are hidden". Does this mean these are blocked for all viewers or just those viewing from outside USA? When I contacted via email REAL DRAMA this is the incomprehensible response I got: Wed, Sep 20 at 11:56 AM Thanks for contacting Little Dot Studios. Based on a couple of real incidents when a trawler was dragged under off the coast of Scotland, admitted by the British navy, the second off Dublin, believed to have been a Russian submarine.
Even then, how did an unknown person manage to walk in without being thrown to the floor with at least 10 MP5s pointing at him while he was being cuffed?
Normally, I love all British drama. I cannot, however stomach anyone’s bratty, spoiled kids, even if they are make believe. I have to pass on this one.
I don’t know this series or the actress. I’m British but never seen or heard of her. I was hoping for a Dame Judi character in James Bond but unfortunately I’m not getting it. She just doesn’t have the same quality and strength as other mature female actresses. I’m feeling more Women’s Institute flower arranging than international states woman. She seems nice though.

excellent well done congratulations to Pauline Collins.,and all the team.
Thank you looks like the start of a very good series .
You know, British TV is so much better than American TV. More please when you get a chance.❤
The average IQ in America is 98. I’d say the average American can’t follow this. I love the British , Scotland and Irish shows.

A professor looked at high school books from the 60’s in America. He said they were better than a college education now.

Pauline Collins, always excellent.
Pauline Collins masterfull casting, she is awesome.
Thank you. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Refreshing to see the female lead win without the usual (1980's) plot of femme fatale used charms. Nice one BBC, hope for us all yet.
Loved her in Shirley Valentine 👏🏼👏🏼

Really great, thank you!!
Great show!! Pauline Collins amazing!!! Thanks!
Great ! Hope we get to see the whole series. Thank you.
Pauline Collins was amazing in this drama, i remember it so well 😍
Quite a solid show, perfect sunday evening viewing. The odd action set piece breaks the drama nicely.
❤ Pauline Collins is perfect in this role. Oooh, I just ❤ Denis Lawson ❣
Pauline Collins is so underrated. This was a great series.
"underrated " is so overused

You may like to look up "Forever Green" in which she starred with her husband. I am a big Collins fan. PP: Pauline is 83 now. 😎😎
I loved Shirley Valentine, and Educating Rita. Such wonderful stories of women finding a ''second act'' in life!
So far I've seen 4 episodes of this epic series.

Good thing it was only an egg that hit the ambassador and not something more dangerous 😮😮

Absolutely brilliant but the ads was such a p*** take that I just couldn't watch It
