Wonderful shoe guideline. I work in a studio so I wear cute sandals, loafers, Stan Smiths and sling backs all summer long. Vivaia makes a cute stretchy ballet flat (w/ arch support) that can be dressed up. 🥰
I love my “granny” style classic pumps! They were the first shoe I truly invested in: 2” nude almond toes. With summer coming I will be investing in some ballet flats & sandals, but have several pairs of pumps & heeled oxfords/ ankle boots on deck after lol.

I haven’t worn heels in years. I was cleaning out my closet and found some kitten heels. But they were all too small. So I donated all of them. I’m not sure if I will replace all of them or not. I may get either a black or nude pair. I think I could have worn them if they were a lot wider. All I ever wear are sandals. I live in the south and I only wear sandals most of the time. Or I wear sneakers. I don’t dress up, and I own boots if I need to wear a dress. Or some dressy sandals. But now I know what I should wear with whatever I have on. Which is usually shorts and a t shirt.
Such useful content..Thanks a ton..I needed to know if one should go in for noiseless shoes( they look plain...at times mumsy) or the ones which make the irritating thak thak sound( althoughthey tick all boxes in looks department)..When I see a noiseless pair, the shoes are very very comfy,have a wedge or low heels and are not so great...The elegant looking ones,are super pretty,look great but the heels make a sound as you walk( kitten heels/ stilettoes/ wedges..nearly all)..Which ones should I be going for??
That is a very interesting question-even though I notice the clicking sound I've never considered choosing shoes with or without it. I'd go for the type I like the most, clicking or now clicking - the type you like most.
Great video! I especially like your points about symmetry and about the runway being art. It really helps to know yourself, your lifestyle and your comfort threshold in selecting footwear. I'm glad I'm at the age where I know what I want to wear and what works for me. Since I can no longer wear heels due to past angle injury, I wear orthotic sandals at home, ballet flats in the spring and fall, flat sandals in the summer and flat boots in the winter. They all have rubber soles.

It is OK to have some “fun” pairs of shoes too. Shoes do not have to be boring. To me, they are jewelry for your feet.

Any tips for cocktail shoes in cold climates? You wear snow boots to get to the party; once there, you are too cold to put your sandals on!
It too cold inside as well? That's pretty cold. You could wear fancy pumps with a cocktail dress that has sleeves.
