This is perfect! AI is no longer driving to the limit of the artificial racing line, they're moving to the limits of what they car is capable of. This is evident in the late break by the AI at 5:35. Welldone guys. I can't wait to try this!!!
You guys have no idea how impressive this is! This is amazing work, and we all can't wait for this update! Hats off to the hardworking ReizaStudios Team, and you have all the support of us simracers!
Sweet. When the TV style in picture view first came on, it fooled me initially thinking it was an actual TV Race comparison until I saw the cars game paint sims. With real life skins and reshading filters the graphics are pretty spot on. Amazing when you consider the price of the game how good it looks and drives.
Love the new tyre sounds, no more annoying squealing in corners! AI looks very promising, hopefully they will perform more consistently in all weather conditions, not only dry.
This proves Ian Bell was right all along--the Madness engine possesses incredible potential. It's just a shame that SMS could never extract the true potential from the engine (although, thankfully, it seems that Reiza can).
i would like an option to manually adjust the AI during a live session in some kind of "AI setting mode".. so you can fine tune entry, exist, braking, accerleration etc. whilst racing next to a AI ghost.
The FIRST and the MAIN AI issue is/was first lap AI performance where usually you can overtake 4-6 cars in first couple corners. Just by fixing that and updating other tyres to Stock Car 2024 standards you will become #1 sim for elitist RF2, AC fanboy who values FFB, VR and AI as a top priority, super thrilled for the upcoming update!
Try doing the quali session before the race, that will allow AI to get themselves sorted according to their performance for the race and they will do better in the first lap.
@@stefanomacchi1977 well... I want to race 90s F1 and RF2 or AC are literally unplayable against AI, just absolute abomination! Yet in AMS2 I can really race with AI at 100% agro and they don't just randomly hit me every single lap, also I found out why FFB was weird in AMS2, now it's amazing on default.
AI improvements look great, I'm hoping they also apply to my favourite classes (Group C, GTP, GT3, GT1) and multi-class can cope with it too! Thanks for the update
These are some high level improvements, big thumbs up. This is making me think that maybe Reiza should make the F1 games, since EA/Codemasters end their F1 game series next year according to rumors.
Amazing the a.i is massively better with the 1.6 update. I used to put the level at 100% and be faster but now I have to turn it down a bit. Yous have set the standard for a.i now. Well done 👏
So far from what it seems, the AI speed into and out of corners seems to have been improved some through this video which would be a welcome change considering the current state where the AI just has unrealistic grip in and out of the corners. It still seems like there is some fine tuning needed but if the video is anything to go by, seems like a massive improvement has already been mate. Looking forward to the update and hope it's across all cars.
Looks like it drives a lot more straight around the corners. Which is very good! The weird slip angle under power/drifty physics, especially present in high aero cars and the janky multiplayer servers were pretty much the only thing stopping me from jumping on AMS2 every day.
What an incredible progress from 1.5! The more dynamic AI will be a game changer. But it still looks like the AI is quite weak on the brakes, sometimes you finish braking 10m before the apex and still out-brake the AI car which has the inside line. Surprised to not see them take the advantage sometime to brake later and take the racing line when they are on the inside. Also I think lately this gen of F1 car got a lot more dirty air IRL as teams have learned how to push the wake outboard in the mid-sectiom, which makes the dirty air get sucked behind the centre of the car underneath the wing.

But yeah thanks to Sim Racing and I could say AMS 2, Coz all I go on now is AMS 2, lol, I have got a fair few games on steam now, And I always find my self putting AMS 2 on, So Reiza is doing a top job of creating a top shelf simulation of racing cars, AMS 2 feels the most fluid and selection of cars and tracks, Makes AMS 2 worth every penny, I can't afford any other DLC, Race Room is even beyond what I can actually afford, AMS 2 is the only Sim Racing game I got where I have got nearly every DLC, All I need is Monza and the track in Spain, I have all the DLC cars, So yes AMS 2 is even value for money, And if AMS 2 can help reduce the mental health symptoms I gets then the money spent is money well spent, If I am not taking pills for my mental health then Sim Racing got a place for people who suffers with mental health...... Amen to Reiza, I can't wait for the IMSA my self, One of the PS4 titles I used to go on was Nascar Heat, I loved the American tracks for some reason, I enjoy Watkins Glen, So glad AMS 2 already has it, Again the selection of tracks AMS 2 has alone makes AMS 2 worth the cost, And I hear there is a sale at the moment for AMS 2 content.... So yeah AMS 2 will be at the top spot with the release of 1.6, I can only imagine how many people will be on AMS 2 the day of 1.6 release......
Cool. I saw no comments on AI vs AI, where they massively struggle to overtake each other. Has this been fixed? Also, any ETA when AI will use more than one tyre compound for cars such as the F-Ultimate?
exactly my questions as well, in the video it seems the AI all take the same general line on the lead up to Ascari when they're fighting for position which isn't exactly amazing. I'd love for the cars to use any other tire compound other than soft for long distance races/according to the tire wear multiplier set but I don't think that's coming this update it seems
more in car settings for the formula ultimate! also, allow a shift button for different selections for us on controllers! Game is fantastic, btw, almost 1000 hours!
It's all great of course, but I'd love to see some AI from your team and the other teams, not just the drivers. I want to hear my radio guy telling me that due to the car ahead running a certain strategy that we should go for an undercut/overcut etc. I want the teams to watch each other and adjust accordingly to win.
i wonder if they fixed ai being op in straights. i always lose about 10 spots at nurburgring's final stretch. my car tops out while ai flies by me, even slipstreaming doesn't help
looks great, except for those 2D trees. Especially in VR - I just can't unsee those tree sprites like it's Duke Nukem in 1996. Glad some tracks are getting 3D trees, but looks like Monza is still using flat cutouts.
I can see that some of the trees closest to the track have been updated to 3d. Look at the end of the video, when he slows down; the trees at the chicane are 3d.
Please let us have 40-50-60 ai on the track! Label it experimental if it is risky to use! Bonus if you add an A.I Mistake slider like skill/aggression, so we can make the A.I make loads of mistakes like rFactor 2 had in their .json file.
I stopped playing AMS2 for the sole reason that AI cars were over-powered in that along the straight AI cars would just simply pull away from me. The only moment where I might be able to overtake an AI car was at corners. But as soon as we got onto the straight track, AI cars would magically increase speed and move away from me with ease. Hence, I stopped playing AMS2 since AI cars were just too powerful along the straight. If this new development fixes the issue of over-powered AI cars along the straight, then I shall return to AMS2. Thanks.
Is it possible to give the player more control of the AI difficulty setting with more than one slider? For example a lot of my current gripes would be solved by the ability to individually adjust straight line speed relative to breaking and cornering speeds, or wet speeds vs dry speeds, instead of having to just pick a generalized ai difficulty number. I am sure that you have been working to bring these big variances that the AI can exhibit closer, but with so many car and track combos why not let the player adjust if necessary.
