- I install the Thicc Boi weighted shift knob from Likewise on my Ford Focus RS!
WE ARE LIKEWISE
The Thicc Boi is a heavy weighted shift knob from the Australian Automotive brand, Likewise. It isn’t just a bit weighted like much of what calls itself weighted on the internet these days - it weighs in a chunky 500g!
It is made from beautifully machined steel as opposed to lighter materials like aluminium or plastic / resin.
To put it’s weight into context, the stock shift knob on the Ford Focus RS MK3 is 154g and the Mountune shifter that it is replacing weighs in lighter at 114g. So as you can see, this is definitely heavy and indeed I can say that it is very noticeable when holding it!
Not only is it a heavy weighted shift knob but it is also elongated rather than being round or an analogue of round. This has the further benefit of moving the hand position. This I will talk about in more detail in a future video but for now, just know that it feels great and really compliments the weight and completes the 3 part process that I began with the Cobb short shift plate and the the SiCo solid shifter cable bushings!
I definitely recommend this product in combination with other shifter upgrades or indeed on it’s own, even just for styling as it looks amazing!

Adam Rainey that’s great I look forward to the video. I’ve gone with the RS gear knob but not changed the gear gaiter.
Nice one :) I haven't really been tempted to change the gaiter because it has the nice blue stitching already. Back in the ST days it was just plain stitching so the Mountune gaiter made sense being all yellow and cool but yea I am happy with the standard RS gaiter :)
Is there a way of having the engraved logo facing other way so you can see it?, maybe try screwing the collar further down or up a turn or two?
Yea that would be possible but where it currently is is great for grip

Hi Max, yes indeed I did. It is unfortunate and expensive, etc but there was literally no-one offering any properly heavy weighted shift knobs closer to home that I could find at the time and certainly nothing with this level of precision craftsmanship and design flare. In the end for me it was between the larger Boomba Racing knob from USA or something from Likewise in Aus - both of which were going to incur import costs
Adam Rainey yeah kinda annoying isn’t it. They’re products are already expensive without the £40 extra on import. I’ve ordered one so really hoping it’s worth the £110 🤣

Unless you know the exact part number, you will likely need to either go to a ford dealer or to a breaker's yard

Did you not get on with the mountune shifter? Do you find the throw longer ?
All will be explained in a future video but this is better than the mountune because of the overall setup because of weight. The throw is only longer if you hold it at the tip which you don't do, it's shape is all about changing the angle of the hand, how it is gripped
