Great video bro. Just got back from Colombia for the first time and man can't wait to go back. Was in and around Medellin and your videos helped a lot. Didn't get to do everything in 6 days but a first trip gave me a great entry. Also met a lot cool people both travelers locals and expats. Much respect bro 👊🏾
I lived in Cali for about 8 months during the last couple of years and I'd have to say one of the biggest downsides were the constant power outages and water outages... but I was in El Ingenio in the south by UniValle so I don't know if it's like that in other parts of the city. Will be in Medellin for the first time in 3 weeks and looking forward to comparing the two!
Another nice, yet quick video. It looks like you have finally found your future Colombian wife. The hands/arms of the lady @2:16 look like the same in most of your Cali videos and the fact that you took her home to Seattle to your mom shows that this is serious. Congrats bruh! Hopefully one day you’ll introduce her to your subscribers. 😀
You go South because of the heat, it is not a downside it comes with the terrain. When you travel adapt and assimilate local food, not a downside. When you travel south, public transport is a downside. Salsa is part of the culture I love it.
Cali is my second home, NYCis my number 1. Found a great woman in Cali, visited quite often. Getting to know East, West, North and South. Salsa is great and my Spanish is getting better and better, poco a poco. People are friendly and weather has been great, everything is very reasonably priced. Looking for an apartment now.
I wish you'd moved to Costa Rica. You give good incite on the places that you go to and I can't find anyone to do quite the same thing for Costa Rica, where I plan to retire. But, keep up the good work and vids for Colombia. Still like to watch em (especially the ones showing the beautiful women) even if I don't plan on retiring there.
I was in Qatar in Middle East for 2 months as of few weeks ago so I know exactly what you mean by Hot and 115+ temperatures. So Hot in Cali May be a bit relative speaking. But when your there to chill and relax you certainly don’t want to be overly sweaty. That kills it for me.
@Sly It’s funny you mentioned not having game because the majority of guys traveling abroad to meet women have none. The crazy part is some either don’t know they don’t have any or don’t think they need any outside the U.S. or other westernized countries.
Been to Bogota and Medellin, dying to go to Cali cuz salsa is my shit. Feel like I gotta go cuz its the mecca for salsa lovers. How are your lessons going? Hope you chose to learn Cali style
It’s funny that good living in Colombia is not getting robbed or stabbed for a year. I’ve had some great times in various places in Colombia but because I’m not fluent in Spanish and no longer young I get bored after a couple of weeks. I’m also of Irish-German decent and that means I don’t blend in there and that can make me a target. I don’t know why anyone would choose to live in Cali because Medellin is so much better from what I can see. Thanks for the informative videos.
Been there, can confirm the food scene is unreal, top class restaurants everywhere. Never expected to find such amazing Japanese food for example in Colombia but they got world class chefs in those restaurants. The pinnacle of all this has to be Andres Carne de Res in Chia (just outside bogota), the place is gigantic with a famously massive menu thats like a book, great food, multiple kitchens and dancefloors and exotic decorations.
@@MG_Is_Here of course, but I should tell you that I only went there because its my ex's hometown, otherwise, apart from it's restaurants, I didn't think it was even half as nice as Medellín.. Its got your typical big city benefits like museums, nightlife, restaurants as mentioned before... but also the negatives such as lots of traffic and more crime areas. Also very rainy (though i'd prefer that over Cali heat). If i were going to colombia on vacation, I wouldn't spend too much of it in Bogotá since there are other cities that are more beautiful like Medellín, Cartagena, san andres, santa marta...
Your comments about Cali are dead on. I happened to be in Cali the past August and September for dental work and it was really hot. To hot do go out walking during the day. After about 10 minutes out doors I was drenched in sweat. The heat would just drain my energy. I had to go back to the apartment, take a cold shower and sit in front of the A/C. If you don't like Salsa music and/or don't have a girl friend there is not much left to do. Fortunately they like foreigners. You don't need much game to find a date. I also grew tired of only local food and the international food options were limited and sometimes not so good. Bogota has more to do and a better climate.
Wassup man I was just out in Medellin and was supposed to go to cali. I didnt but I'll be back in a couple months. How long you think you'll be livin in Colombia? Do you plan to travel Asia or something next or go home? Any thoughts on looking into real estate/setting up a business in Colombia? I think that last one could be a good video if you're in those circles and have heard about that. I'm looking to move by 2021 to medellin.
I share your feelings about international food, I live in Vancouver and we have one of the best international food on the map! Thank you for your video, so much knowledge.... Any futur videos on Buenaventura or Quibdo?
Born and raised in Vancouver, and I found Bogotá's international food scene way better than ours. In fact I don't think ours is that great apart from sea food.
MVPVGFX .. My ex gf at first, than we had our daughter. Here mostly now because of my daughter. I will head back to the states soon and come visit as much as possible.
i've lived in bogota since '07 and nothing has ever happened to me. i've even walked from from the 24hr supermarket home about 10 blocks at 3 in the morn. i would never do that in los angeles.
Very accurate. I love Cali but that’s due in large part to the fact I have a woman there. She takes me to all the great places. And there are many great places there.
I was born here, MIO is nice but the fact that it's always packed with people sucks specially if you're a university student and gotta ride it 5 days a week. Hoods are a red zone and even then you're still not safe in middle class or upper class areas, i lost my watch and phone near my house to two guys on bikes. Always remember that, crime here Is done on bikes so if someone looks shady be prepared. Always wear fresh clothes but have something warmer for the nights and try to enjoy the nightlife because there's not really a lot of stuff to do here apart from that. Be careful with wearing red or green if the cali or america soccer teams are having a game that day, hooligans go crazy over colors sometimes when it comes to soccer.
Interesting. Forgot to ask something else. Do the women in Cali appear more curvy and thicker to you than those in Medellin? I ask because a brother recently did a UA-cam video on this topic, and the women in it definitely looked way more curvy and chunky than anything I've seen on Medellin (ua-cam.com/video/rEmEWVq0_yo/v-deo.html). I love the heavier and curvier look! I've never visited Colombia so all I know is what I've seen from UA-camrs like you. And I've really appreciated your videos for they've taught me a lot.
Cali is either hot or raining always. I just left Cali back in Pereira. I know exactly what you are talking bout when I first landing of airplane that heat just came down on me.
If you haven't been robbed or stabbed yet? Crap I'm going to Cali. I got a girl there and I do plan on taking some salsa dance classes. Probably hitting the public golf course. Yeah though she constantly telling me how dangerous going to ATM there is.

I’m glad for the tips and the advice, even though I never considered moving to Cali... but I’ll definitely visit Cali one day. Be safe out there bro!
If I go to Cali international food is the last thing I’d worry about,Colombian food is one of my favorites!!!

About to spend a week in Cali coming from The States, thanks for the tips in all your videos!

Yes the east side of Cali is real hood I drove through during the day.🥺 There is a good Japanese restaurant in Granada named Miyabi.
I’m going to Cali as soon as this corona shit is over.. I’m staying in comuna 13 it’s east side.. el vergel barrio
I didn't realize you are form Seattle. I grew up in Federal Way. Great info thanks for the vid.
I lived in Renton Washington for 5 years and I moved back home in the Bronx New York 5 months ago. Do you still live in federal way?

Sly fam, maybe you already mentioned this in another video but how do you sustain yourself? Investments? Online work?
Stay safe my brother it’s pretty crazy out there right now
I was just about to comment this
What's been going on in Cali?
Definitely have agree on the bullet points. Heat, where to and not to go, food choices, salsa and no game. Thanks for the tips!
LOL!! "I wouldn't stab noboby over it...". Get your salsa game up brother!
The Popeye stabber finally got arrested today.

Cali definitely on my list of cities to visit when I go back.
Cali got that ass juice weather
"Ass juice weather"

Hey Sly, it sounds like you need to visit Bogota if you want an international food scene. They say it is the food capital of Colombia.
Been there, can confirm the food scene is unreal, top class restaurants everywhere. Good informative video. I think if you don't have no game every city would suck lol
Or money
Another great video. Your videos are so good that they feel too short. You leave the viewer with the feeling of wanting to see more.
In July and August it’s very humid too I would say this
Cartagena 12
Cali 10
Medellin 8
Agree Cartagena is more humid than Cali.
Facts!!! When I stayed in Cartagena it felt like I was getting cooked alive. I had to take 3 cold showers a day to make myself comfortable.

Medellin is super safe compared to Cali. Bah!
thx buddy
Great video
Hey Sly, give us an update on the protests going on in Colombia. I understand there is a curfew in Cali.
Stay safe it’s really crazy there right now
What's crazy out there right now?
@ least someone with the same Experience

Hey Sly..I'm in Bellevue...Where about in Seattle do you stay?
Thanks Sky for another awesome video. For a first time visitor to Columbia which city would you suggest?
I just did a video on Popeyes chicken sandwich from the area where Popeyes started. New Orleans!

Colombia, Columbia.

Very nice video, as usual. Am I correct in saying that it sounds like if you're a single man, Medellin may have more to offer than Cali?
