Dude there is a difference its not just a full of angry fans its Fenerbahce fans watch on yoıtube what did fenerbahce fans do to gala fans gala fans ran away like they are marathon runners
Anywhere else in Europe, with a Souness in his 20's. I don't think there'd be many in the crowd who'd have fancied taking him on, one on one. But Souness after serious illness, much older and in Turkey. They'd leave what was left of him in a pile on the pitch. That's what I don't like about Turks. They're not interested in fair and square fist fights, they're all cowardly knife merchants in my experience. They pull their knives out first, ask questions later. Much prefer Greeks, because they're not like that. They'll kick the shit out of you, then pick you up and offer you a smoke and an ouzo. Much more civilized class of supporter.
Graeme Souness stated on Sky Sports' MNF, the reason why he planted the flag was because one of Fenerbahce's vice presidents said in the newpapers, what is Galatasaray doing by signing a cripple (Souness had open heart surgery 18 months before). Running up to the half way line to hand the flag over to a player and whilst running, he'd managed to see the vice president who made the comments in the papers. And Souness thought "I show you, who is the cripple", and planted the flag at the half way line.
Souness actually did that stunt with the flag as revenge for the Fenerbahce Vice-President calling him a "cripple" when he was appointed Galatasaray manager (Souness has undergone open heart surgery a couple of years prior). I guarantee that guy wouldn't have called Souness that to his face, because if he had any knowledge of the man, he would have known Souness would have knocked him out.
My turkish friend told me "if you see Galatasaray logo in some shop or cafe, say "ibne fenerbahche" and you will get discount." Well, that is actually works😀
4 years late. Galatasaray have always held a special place in my heart because of these three people: Graeme Souness, Tugay Kerimoglu and Gheorghe Hagi (Ianis Hagi’s father). And I’m speaking after Rangers beat Galatasaray 2-1 in the Europa League Play-Offs. Although that happened, am I still going to like Galatasaray? Yes, I always will. Hadi Galatasaray, bu sene ligi kazanalım. Hindi yine senin olsun! ❤️💛❤️ 💙🤍❤️
As an Englishman who has lived in Turkey for nearly 15 years, one can only agree with the Gentleman who said if he tried it now then he would need to be taken out of the country for his own safety !! Since the introduction of pasolig into Turkey though, the Gala/Fener matches have lost their atmosphere a little . Two great teams though and one very big rivalry .
I recall Souness saying he did that because the opposition chairman had made some cheap jibe in his programme notes before the game about Souness having a "weak heart". Souness of course had previously had a triple bypass op. So when they won the game, he did this a reply/gesture to the chairman in question.
Commenting now in 2020 after Rangers beat Galatasaray in the Europa League. I have a place in my heart for Galatasaray because of 3 people; Graeme Souness, Tugay Kerimoglu and Gheorghe Hagi (Ianis Hagi’s father).
A similar event happen in Portugal where Porto won the title in Benfica Stadium and then the Benfica Admin turned off the lights and turned on the Sprinkers. About 5 years ago
1 - Identify Problem Areas with Flashlight and Glue Strips 2 - Use Caulk to close gaps to prevent further infestation 3 - Place Gel bait bait stations to effectively reduce roach population 4 - Boric acid powder for added effectiveness 5 - Pest management professional
I'm all in. Plant my team flag on the opposing team's pitch? Damn brutal. (Even deadly if you tried something like that on a national team level -- I heard someone from Albania did that vs Serbia. Yeah, don't do *that*)
Most people dont know it, but Fenerbahce also secured the league title once in the stadium of galatasaray, but the players of fenerbahce had respected the galatasaray fans/players and didnt celebrate there. I think it was the 2006/07 Season and 32-33 Week
And after all Fenerbahçe is struggling to stay in the league. We promise, as GS fans, that if they relegate and win the title in the first division, they can get the fourth star on the jersey :))

Souness vs. a stadium full of angry fans? I'd bet on Souness.

Turkish people are incredibly polite until they go to a match, then it's war.
If Graeme Souness was to fight everyone in that stadium at once, he’d still win
