I was in the departure lounge at Heathrow back in 2002/3 for the 7am Aberdeen flight and Souness was sitting on his own with a coffee. I plucked up the courage and went over and said to him how much I admired his football etc. He was the most polite and approachable bloke you could imagine. I have a massive amount of respect for him. He is one of the few pundits in football who is able to put allegiance to club aside and analyze the game for what it is. A lot of popular football pundits are, let's tell the truth, mediocre, at best, and have no business being in front of a microphone.

In the last 5-10 years I dont have passion for it anymore. I only watch Liverpool. Have cancelled BT sport. I commented on why he was forced out. I was a footballer, my son was a rugby player both Union and League. As Scouse kids his team would habitually get broken bones , cause broken bones and then watch Liverpool after a shower or bath.
