I love how Microsoft Paint was on the cusp of being removed entirely a few years back, and now they've revamped it with layers, and AI.
It's still windoze.
ok and? its still garbage lmfao
Yeah pretty useful for quick edits
mspaint my beloved
@@MultiDarkIIThis is just the beginning tho...
they should have delayed win 11 to like next year and if it launched with all these features people would have loved win 11! Instead some people still feel bitter and don't want to upgrade to win 11 like me :(
It definitely was rushed!
thing is they dont need to make win11 (or 8 or 10). just improve win 7.
@@rizkyadiyanto7922 My man is high guys, dont worry he'll be fine
well it is weird to remove features and then add them back
maybe they were trying to simplify and didn't think people would miss those features
but at least they listened when there were complaints about it
maybe they did it on purpose to appear that way
but besides that we now have those new features
all in all win11 is just better than win10, mostly the same, looks better
not upgrading because of bitterness won't hurt them, but you hold yourself back and miss out on the new stuff
Then you better keep your computer offline if you don't want it forced on you. Or, again, switch to Linux.
I definitely DON'T want copilot integration into OS, Windows telemetry already is collecting absurd amounts of data about user behavior, this will increase that even further, I don't want a laggy assistant, I don't want or need OS I have to chat with to get somewhere, I just need an environment that runs applications I use, that is it!
how can you tell it will be laggy. telemetry is something that nowadays pretty much every app and services does when connected to internet so microdoft isn't the only special one. though there are many techniques to atleast stop google and microsoft telemetry
@@kashifsworld2792 AI is using a lot of computing power, hence it will not return instant results, or it will monitor you in the background trying to predict what you might need, that is also computing heavy, and this computing comes at the expense of electricity, that is inevitable, not to mention extremely creapy when the OS, that is supposed to be just a layer used by apps to access the hardware, is instead spying on you
and this increased traffic will consume bandwidth of the connection
both of these make total mockery of any sort of statements from them supporting sustainability or any other green agenda
yes, it might be useful to some users, developers, but the 99% other users will simply pay a larger electricity bill (or this expense will passed to other services who Microsoft will sell metadata to) resulting in an overall more expensive life in general from using this AI assisted OS
free cake is just a lure
copilot is js bing ai integrated with win 10
asked the damned thing to set me an alarm, told me instructions
I completely agree with you. The only thing that Microsoft did that I thought was good of them was killing Cortana. Now they got this shit. Microsoft need to realise that nobody wants to use their shitty apps. We use them to get to other apps. I only use Windows because all my apps are made for it. I only use edge to download other browsers. I do not want anything to do with Microsoft if it can be helped and I wish they'd get lost and just make windows functional and stable
All of these are either unnecessary changes, gimmicks, or things I already have in the first place from stock Windows 10. Changes these may be, but hardly evolutions.
The only tool people need as of now or when the time comes (when their computer automatically installs W11 itself when you're away for 5 minutes like they got away with last time) is the likes of Tiny11 or something that once again removes all the bloat, telemetry, and constant internet connection bullshit. And hell, maybe restores the functions that people had to spend years learning several times over, and not unnecessary rearrangements of things we already knew the location and utility of. People need to have actual control of their own damn OS, not to be told they do and have Microsoft keep taking things away anyway.
I dont like how they put a tool for generating AI images in a program where you're supposed to paint the image yourself
Nothing that you don't have in Gnu Linux already and without spyware.
Linux user here, can agree
HUGE!
It's literally just reenabling features from past Windows versions, AI, and layers on fucking Paint.
They need to update the hide taskbar feature, it is juddery and looks like its at 40fps. There's no blur to it when it transitions from hiding to appearing. It would be nice if it scaled with refresh rate.
15 fps**
Hmm, I have a measly nVidia 1050 on a Ryzen 5600, but the taskbar seems the same refresh rate as the screen. 60 FPS. At 4k it has a height of exactly 120 pixels and come down in about a second. It goes by two pixels and smooth. That's 60 FPS. I can't test 4k@120Hz with this GPU unfortunately. What GPU you have?
Or a good animation at least. The movement from appearing to hiding and vice versa is so painfully linear it looks like a default powerpoint animation
yes the animation is literally moving the taskbar up one pixel at a time
Windows needs a few more features to be considered fixed.
1) DON'T remove WordPad. It needs to be revamped and expanded like MSPaint. Add footnote/endnote support. Make it a real useable word processor.
2) Enable more choice. People fondly miss themes like Aero or Windows XP visuals. Let people customize their desktops as they see fit.
3) Revamp basic utilities, such as calc.
4) Reduce reliance on the cloud. Don't try to force people to create online accounts for offline apps.
5) Create CoPilot AI as an opt-in feature only. Most people won't use it.
6) Increase privacy.
7) Add features other OSs have enjoyed for years: Improved filesystem support.
8) Pare Windows down and remove the bloat.
9 Fix Regedit. That thing is a mess.
Do this and people will love the OS again.
I highly doubt the average user even knows about Regedit. What exactly is messy about it, anyway? I find it works exactly as it's supposed to and I've never had any trouble using it.
@@CocoTheMii Not regedit specifically but the registry as a whole. Poorly-coded programs abuse it, MS makes destructive changes to it, and viruses latch onto it. It's got to be reformed for the better.
"Revamp basic utilities, such as calc."
Calc was already revamped in win10 and is in my opinion one of the best built-in calculators of any operating system.
The #1 feature I'm waiting for on Win11 (I switched to it 2 weeks ago, after a PC upgrade), is the ability to move the taskbar on the left of the screen. It's weird that you just can't do that. You can on Linux and Mac, so why not here?
start menu position will look messed up if the taskbar is at the left, don't know how ms will do that
You could do it on Win10 aswell, so it's just an annoying regressoin
Same. I refuse to upgrade from Windows 10 until this is supported.
@@maurosyoutube move it? Why couldn't a huge company like microsoft not be able to solve a simple problem
I assume you mean the vertical task bar? Because you’ve been able to have the icons on the left since launch
ms paint being actually useful is a nice change
I hope the HID lamp array standard can also be adopted by linux distros as well, that would be cool.
Oh joy, finally adding a feature that I've been using since 1996 using a different program 😋
The only way that I get any satisfaction out of Windows anymore is by modifying it with 3rd party software to change the design, features, and limiting the spying tools.
the only satisfaction I get is have some good porn only windoze.
Me too. I install the superlite version and remove as much of the branding as possible. I simply can't stand to be reminded of the bargain I made with Microsoft just so I could use other software that isn't Microsoft
W11 moment
Nic😂❤
I hope we eventually get the ability to use Open With with multiple files selected.
I would rather they don't touch paint & notepad. I regularly use those for one simple reason, performance. They open within a second & just do the job.
No splash screen showing who made the app
No loading bar
No getting started
No loading resources & plugins
Nothing.
They just do the job & that's what I want.
The reason why programs like photoshop take ages to load is because libraries and OS variables need to be loaded all at once, since lazy loading wasn't standard when these tools were designed.
Paint and notepad use little to no libraries, they just load a simple executable and that's it. Adding layers to paint won't change anything in that regard.
I wonder how long they will take to finish the dark theme
6:20 my brother in christ the volume mixer is already here in windows 10 since it's release
but this one gives option to change audio output, spatial audio selection
@@kashifsworld2792 Per app? Or not yet? So not like on KDE?
@@kashifsworld2792 Only new thing is the spatial stuff. Output switcher was already a thing in W10.
@@kashifsworld2792 It doesn't
@@kashifsworld2792 Right-click on the audio icon on the taskbar -> spatial audio.
Besides that, the audio output selection is the whole point of the audio icon on the taskbar, aswel as changing the volume.

@@nevmiku Also a lot of new features and improvements missing from Win 10
if u use w11 ur sick in the head
Great try with the volume slider looks more and more like KDE. Only can you choose a different output per app? That bottom taskbar vs on the left and the annoying way it shows even with autohide everytime you get an app notification is really annoying, fortunately I barely use Windows.
Paint the killer app lol
What next, notepad with a spellchecker 🤣
But can we rotate text in paint? :D
wait, volume mixer didn't exist in 11 before this patch? it has been in 10 since the first release.
The novelty here is the ability to individually adjust volume levels for apps from the Tray quick access menu. Also, Spacial audio options are in the same menu.
Windows 7 had volume mixer...
@@chmtech Windows Vista had volume mixer...
@@chmtech yes, that's in the first release of win10.
win7 doesn't have that btw. it was literally the only function i needed that made me switch to 10 from 7 so i remember this particular function vividly.
@@chmtech Yeah that's not a new feature either, that was in Windows 10 since day 1. Not the spacial audio options tho
Are the problems with amd chips and games getting worse performance fixed (or improved from win10)?
Too late Microsoft, you should have added these features and not removed features that everyone enjoyed. Also, if Microsoft did not require a stupid online Microsoft Account and Internet Connection, then I would have stayed in Windows. So far I have been enjoying Linux from the moment I first began using it this Year.
I laugh about how grunge windows is, gave up and switched to Linux years ago. The world looks much better without windoze.
same
I tried Linux mint liked it but came to realize that none of the software I used worked and none of the games I played on windows worked so went back to windows 😮
@@Moochi4 did you try wine and proton?
@ad1340yt tried proton, but Destiny 2 wouldn't work and a few others, and I'm not sure how modding games work on Linux
I still can't get over how you can't move the taskbar anywhere. I can never have a taskbar on the bottom of my screen. It's always on top, always has been for years.
I like how you warned us before the bright light came up. Well done.
If they don't ship a lifetime Office license with the OS, I wouldn't even look at it. I think it's unacceptable to buy a brand new laptop with Windows 11 preinstalled, but have an Office license for just a year.
Thankfully "MS Office" is neither the only nor the best office package.
@@Gramini It's not the only office program, but it's the best one. I use LibreOffice, because I'm on Linux, but it's inferior. From simple things like formatting text to complicated tasks like linear optimization in Excel, the user experience is worse. WPS and OnlyOffice aren't perfect either.
I like a lot of things like the new screenshot tool and the new Paint but I still can't make my taskbar small (officially) which drives me crazy.
Paint layers great!
RGB support cool!
Always online AI tool, nah I'm good!
This is going to all be a subscription service to use your PC? Left for Linux Mint!
Hopefully Mint will be supporting Wayland. I'm on a distro with KDE Plasma desktop. So, I can use Wayland.
@@dreaper5813i heard they are working on it actually
Ah someone who has seen the light through the windoze......
there is no subscription for any of this
great video. quick point about the dynamic lighting feature: it isn't microsoft's fault that no devices are supported, it's all the light-up peripheral manufacturers that will deliberately choose to keep their software and lighting protocols proprietary so we have to download their shitty programs. only once they choose to implement the open HID standard that we get the convenience of controlling everything from the nice windows settings app.
My razer keyboard works with it. But not my razer mouse.
iCue from corsairs is the worst!
4:45 That is extremely reassuring, because the PowerToys one is insanely bad. It's literally 100% for any language. It takes more time to correct the mistakes than to just type the text out with my pretty slow ~60WPM speed
Does it work with the Shift+Windows+S overlay, though?
How did you get dark mode in ms paint I need to know how you did that (plus I don’t see the layers feature)
You need to have the latest update.
Very good explanations, straight to the point and informative. Video neatly organised aswell. Earned a sub.
looks good, but what about performance, can you make some performance checks comparing windows 10 and 11, idk if i should switch or not, i feat the performance for my apps and games will go down by a lot
I’ve also been on the cusp, though I’ve heard Windows 11 is actually better than Windows 10 in performance
Please give me a link to download the wallpaper showcased in the thumbnail
Windows 11 has advertised Linux significantly better then any Linux distro can. Today I dont look back and understand that computing would be better without proprietary software.
fr
Totalmente de acuerdo.
"computing would be better without proprietary software". Software being proprietary is what gives a right for some company to charge money for it. Some of this money would be handed out to people who works really hard and long hours to make this software, allowing them to feed their families. How on hell would developers earn money if all software was free and open source? (keep in mind that a Linux distro teams earn money trough donations from Google, RedHat, Microsoft, etc because those companies will use Linux for their PROPRIETARY software infrastructure at the end, thus earning money from it. If they didn't, they would not donate :D)
You would have a lot less devs (only people who truly likes programming as a hobby), and therefore less developed computing in general. I don't get why some people think they are entitled to have every piece of software for free. Imagine ranting on the internet because BMW doesn't hand out it's cars for free to people xD. If you don't like to pay, then go and use Libre Office, GIMP, etc, just don't complain when they have bugs or way less features, because people work on those in their free time (when/if they have it) as hobby (not getting paid), instead of 40h/week while getting paid to fix bugs and add feature, like they do in companies that make proprietary software.
Not to mention that many of these features already either exist as free and open source software or they're built into very popular Linux distros. The audio mixing for example is just Pulseaudio
@@awesomesillyman Así ha sido siempre.
Honestly they should all be ashamed to release such a half-baked version of windows... Yet this happens every damn time.
The auto background removal in the new paint app reminds me of the same feature in the old paint 3D app, lol.
The new paint app does seem overall better than paint 3D.
Except paint is supposed to be lightweight, as a quick and go à-la-notepad kind of light. Paint 3D tried to be tightly integrated with the Windows MR concept, and so it wasn't really viable as a regular image editor.
Amazing! Now it's almost like my favorite OS called Windows 7 made by that software firm from New Mexico!
So they are finally improving Windows? That's crazy, because the last time that happened was with Windows 7
it was criminal of M$ to remove the ribbon interface.
Windows 11 finally feels like a complete, modern OS!
where can I get that wallpaper, thumbnail one??
It’s a frame (screenshot) from the Copilot promo material. I’m not aware that there’s a wallpaper like this currently available.
Windows 11 gets the skip from me. I'm guessing they still haven't made the taskbar able to be moved to the side.
Also, I wish Microsoft would stop releasing unfinished OS's. I don't want to be a lab rat :/
Yup! Highly doubt they will ever allow the Taskbar to be moved, at least in 11.

Wasn't there already a mixer before? I've been using it since WinXP through Win10.
@@Graminiyeah but windows 11 got rid of it. You can launch the old one but it's hidden in setting Menue I think. So you can't just click on the sound icon and select mixer.
@@sebi1999de You can right click and open mixer directly as you did before
@@sebi1999de Windows 11 has always allowed you to access the volume mixer by right-clicking the sound icon in the taskbar, just like previous versions. The actual mixer itself has seen some changes, though.
22H1 (the original release) used the same mixer as Windows 7, 22H2 moved it to the Settings app, and Moment 4 added it to Quick Settings. Right-clicking and selecting "Open sound mixer" will still open the Settings app, though.

Do you have the option to uninstall the Copilot or disable it completely in win11?
You can disable it in the settings, although I haven’t tested if it can be uninstalled. But even if it coud, I imagine it would be a hassle
I miss XP it was the best, after that it was only downhill :(
Windows 11 still has poor arm64 support. With no Linux partition support, no USB WSL2 support. One plus for WSL2, is you can set the network to bridge mode. ChromeOS and Linux has better arm support.
with this update my brightness slider stopped working. It is fixed to the max after I wake it up from sleeping. For a fresh start the slider works though.
Read the Microsoft privacy policy... Once you agree to use their services, you give them essentially unrestricted access to scan you files and review them via algorithm and eventually by human if they disagree enough with your opinions, behaviors, or ideological beliefs. As 'features' like copilot become more integrated, you will increasingly be forced to submit to their service umbrella just to use the OS. This is predatory and not about ensuring a higher quality product. Guess that predatorial culture is common to those we've entrusted with these roles.
Yes I do, and then block them ;)
When there will be no ways to block them that's when it will be too much and reason to switch.
Similarly youtube is now starting a war on adblockers. We will see who will win, and what plaform will be the next.
@@marsovac Right. Well, you enjoy dealing with MS's shenanigans that you have to 'block'. But if you ran Wireshark, I'm pretty sure it would show your system calling back to MS and their third party data collectors. You don't get to have privacy with Windows no matter how much you think you 'block' them. The only way to actually block them is by keeping Windows disconnected from the Internet. But you enjoy playing cat and mouse. I'll stick to running Linux.
at least MS have it in their EULA .. most linux and apple products just do it without people knowing at all claiming the calling home is just update monitoring.
@@kuromiLayfe Lies. There is zero telemetry or shenanigans on major GNU/Linux distributions. Even if there somehow was, it's perfectly possible to remove it or create a new distro without any crapware.

And in Windows 11 Edge refuses to close despite having turning off the continue running and startup options while in Windows 10 it did.

AI works simply (drastically over simplfied) as a process to like find the best values of trend lines for example classic y = mx + c it will work as its trained to go from (assume data is y = 2x) m = 5 to m = 1 to m =3 to m=2 perfect fit as it gets trained on points. Once the AI is trained this value (nor graph, nodes, links etc in a higher dimensional system) can be saved and so the trained model will remain working. Therfore- no internet would be required for AI background remover to work. AI is input -> GUESS -> output, once its got the GUESS algorithm its good to go.
so cool

transperency in mspaint?
MS giving us features that no one asked for whilst taking away features people found useful (and hiding them). People are moving away from Windows not because it doesn't have some new gee-whizz feature, but because they keep changing things. It now takes me longer to change a setting than it did on Win10. Try doing something useful MS, like fixing the right mouse button to bring up the actual useful commands in file manager (and why can't it handle a password encrypted zip and give you the password box).
