3.4 m/kWh is pretty good going. Not getting anywhere near that in my Q4 at the moment😬 Mostly short journeys at low temperatures but struggling to get 3.0 m/kWh average😱
@@enyaq_gorm no, I didn’t spec that. Didn’t think I’d need it as it’s mostly short journeys I do and I charge near my house. I went for the 77kWh battery so that I can do my average week’s driving on one charge if I need to👍🏻 Roll on the better weather 😂

So how much dis the trip cost you & how many miles did you cover in total, just to show people the pence per mile fuel cost I’ve a Tesla but I’ve convinced my parents to get an enyaq. But most people always ask me how much it cost per mile (I use my model Y as a taxi so get asked it a lot, that & how much does it cost me to ‘fill it up’ & the other is ‘how long does it take to charge’)

You didn't say how long it took you to get there, when did you set up your journey and how many times you had to charge and how long it took you to charge each time and how many hours you've spent altogether to get there to Milton Keynes? So your information isn't actually a encouraging one.
I stopped for the time I needed to eat or go to the toilet, so makes no difference whether I was driving petrol, diesel or electric. Time was slightly longer than taking the train but only by about 20 minutes. Stopped once for the toilet, once for lunch. That's all
I set up the route on my phone just by adding the post code of the destination into google maps on the car screen and then did the same on ABRP on my phone, took as long as it takes to type in a post code, I told it to plan at 1 minute 54 in the video. Like I said at the end, the total time the ignition was on was 6 hours 45 minutes (takes 6 hours by train) but that included both driving and sitting with the ignition on (eg when filming some of the clips for the video) The first stop was 14 minutes (that was how long it took me to go to the toilet and back), I don't know how long the second stop took because I was so busy chatting to the other driver that I forgot to stop the charge but on other trips it is normally around 20 minutes or so that I spend there at Wigan. But as I say the time taken at each stop is usually determined by the time taken to go to the toilet or to buy and eat some food.
Looking at buying my first EV and this one is high on the list , one worry is if I leave an EV at Heathrow for 2 months while abroad will it start on return ?
Can't see why it would not. The 12 volt battery in a car is what determines that. The type of fuel doesn't really matter so long as the 12v battery is ok

@@jonny5514 oh you are worried about that traction battery? No, the only cars that suffer what's called "vampire drain" are tesla. If you leave gnù other car standing then much like a petrol tank, your fuel will still be there when you come back.
Great video and this isn't aimed at you pal but more at EV cars. What a load of faffing about having to spend valuable time to plan a journey even before you you think about driving, and you cant even trust the cars infotainment system to get you to a suitable EV station,(diesel car ....set sat nav away you go...) then spending 15 to 30 mins several times charging only for a range of less than 250 miles (diesel car 3 mins to fill up rage 550 miles in my BMW away you go.)
Well now.... I only show the planning for the purpose of the videos. In real life I just tell the car where I'm going. The sat nav has now been updated so I can totally trust the car to get me to refuelling points. I also have a diesel. Recently we drove to France (it's a camper so we don't take the Škoda as you can't sleep in it for 2 weeks). On that trip we actually stopped more often not less. Typically in the ev we stop for food/rest/toilets. The car fills up while we do something. On our recent trip we had to stop at Gretna for the toilet, Knutsford for lunch (van just didn't refuel itself while we had lunch despite that taking an hour), then we got the fuel light on and stopped at Winchester. Van had claimed 550 miles of range but it only did just over 400. We had to divert to tesco, took 15 minutes by the time we paid etc. Then we had to stop for dinner. The pub had chargers so on the EV we could have filled up while we ate. Same on the way home from France, we had to make special stops to refuel. And there was a 20 minute queue for diesel in Birmingham 😱 Looking at Google maps timeline, the longest leg the humans were able to do was 190 miles or three hours 24 minutes between Knutsford services and tesco filling station in Winchester. I still think it's more efficient to let the vehicle fill itself while you're doing something than to stand there pouring liquid in before you then go for scoff etc.
@@petermckinnon386 oh the enyaq wins by a mile. Edinburgh to Milton Keynes is usually about £20. That last diesel trip I filled up with £50 at the start and then £85 at Winchester
@@petermckinnon386 to get the mpg equivalent multiply what I get in the video by 4. Typically I average between 160 and 200 mpg in normal use. On the motorway it's more like 140 mpg
@@enyaq_gorm I've got the opportunity to have the big battery version of the Enyaq. Working out the mileage I've done in a Corolla selfcharging hybrid for the last 3 years (45k) is £5k in petrol. Assuming 3.2 miles/kwh and charging at home on Octopus EV tariff, that would have been £1050. Obviously you cant skirt public charging for long, and it's getting expensive. I assume you charge at home mostly? What do you pay for a kwh on the move?

Honestly can't remember what I was paying back then. The prices were nice and low. On ionity I was paying something like 28p per kWh

How fast were you driving on highway? My enyaq 60 spends 22-25 kwh/100km if I drive 100kmh.
Speed limit is 70 mph but obviously that depends on traffic too.
What is the consumption at 120km/h, normal motorway speeds??

Those are normal motorway speeds, any faster and you're risking your licence. S with every car ever made the faster you go the more fuel you use
