Thx. Nice explanation on the new tire rule. Thought they ran nitrogen in the tires. Not real happy about the '27 rules. But that remains to be seen I guess.

It’s not a new tyre rule it’s always been there, it was never enforced before and it was self policed

Has there ever been an accident related to low tire pressure that made them implement this system?

I'm not aware of it. But it seems like something Michelin has pushed for.

It’s Michelin that set the rules for their tyres, the pressure rule has always been there, it’s not new the rule was just not being enforced properly

@@macsmith6216 It hasn't always been there, just once Michelin was the sole tire supplier. Teams were reportedly violating the rules prior to 2023 so enforcement was increased.

It seems to me that with the tyre pressure rule being harshly enforced and teams running higher pressures that it is causing more front end loses than ever before. Let them run the pressure they want to.

    • @macsmith6216
      @macsmith6216 6 місяців тому

      No being harshly enforced
Just being enforced, same rule for everyone

    • @sburns2421

@@macsmith6216 It is a stupid rule because Michelin does not want their tires suffering blowouts. When it was Bridgestone vs Michelin, there were rounds when Michelin missed the mark so badly their riders had zero chance of doing well. Now that it is Michelin only they can dictate this stuff.
If there is a group of people that understand risk/reward better than motorcycle racers I would like to know who they are. They are all big boys who know what can happen with tire pressures too low.

Sounds to me like the tire manufacturer produced a poor product for MotoGP and the "safety" call is the cover.

Agree with u 100%..when a rider is touched and get offline tyre pressure changes ..usually that's what riders complain when they're hit by MM..get offline and can't get the temperature on the tyres and can't catch him again..nevertheless diggia did a great job after being sent wide by marquez..he still Gain time after that..surprised his tyres had the correct temperature after that!!!

Marc manage very well, well within the range after following no.49. What was unforseen, his tyre pressure dropped after running wide and he just missed the requirement by just a corner 0.001 psi of a single lap to make the mark of 60% or 15/26 laps.😊

The only thing that I think that makes sense is Vinales had a paycut do to Martin coming abroad. Because why would he leave an arguably better bike that he's familiar with and being a Factory rider. He's finally competitive again and now leaving. Hopefully Bez can get back to form.

I haven't heard that rumor. He's fighting at the front and then got Bez, who's definitely not at the front. For all Vinales faults, it seems like a downgrade for Aprilia.

Vinales is too inconsistent to win a championship for Aprilia, that’s the rumour that came out of Assen, it makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is leaving a Factory team with a good bike to move to Tech3, he had nowhere else to go
Bezz was runner up last year, so he’s got the pace, he just can’t get on with the 2023 Ducati the new rear Michelin is causing front end issues for Bezz, he has no feel from the front of his Ducati

Bagnaia is so good at this track. We'll see what the Aprilia is capable of next year. Hard to say until we get a top rider on it. Vinales rode pretty well this GP, but no one was touching the Ducati GP24s.

He wasn't complaining about the move. He was complaining because once he got pushed off line his tire pressure dropped and he couldn't ride fast because the left side of the tire was too cold. There was nothing he could do but take the penalty. They've already adjusted the rules once. They may do it again. But I feel like teams shouldn't be cutting it so close and it's kind of on them.
