I think this is one of the best videos I have ever seen in regards to somebody riding a MotoGP bike. Simon you put into words what we imagine when we see these guys flying around the track. I remember when Lori's Capirossi was riding for factory Ducati and was setting record highest top speeds at various tracks. His hands were taped up inside his gloves but he was still having problems keeping the skin in place. Definitely among the best his time to not win a championship.

Great video Simon. It's weird weeing you at this age, my mind still pictures 20 year old you: the super-fast kid from Taihape. However, having you in MotoGP doing interviews and tech talks is superb!
The best thing about Simon trying the MotoGP bikes is the little giggle that he does every time he is off the gas and knows that the bike is going to stop.. This is the giggle that defines the passion of motorcycles.. thank you simon
Really glad you got to sample the bike, Simon-was nice to live vicariously thru you. The commentary was enough to give a good flavor to the bike, it sounds like the dynamic experience is a lot like what the bike looks like when it's being raced. You comments about needing the out-lap to warm everything up really puts the emphasis for us on it truly being a Warm Up Lap rather than a 'sighting lap'. Sounds like it would suck to leave the starting line in a race without that lap to get the brakes and tires up to temperature.
Such a great guy I hope the GP network team know what an asset they have as a presenter / commentator . He always has the best insights that only a racer like him would notice. Really adds to my enjoyment of the GP.
I love how excited you got Simon, riding that bike around the track. You're the best Simon. It just reminds me of why I ride and love riding 2 wheels. Question: obviously two different types of bikes, that I'm going to ask you about. Which do you like today? The technological MotoGP bikes of today, or the raw power with not so much tech of the 500cc?
