@@tomassantos4381 Your very welcome. I'll eventually do another one for his 2021 and 2022 ones, just that I haven't finished his Best albums of 2021, but I'll eventually get that one done sometime around late October Early November.
I know I said this at the end of the live chat but it needs to be said again. Mark you are my favorite music critic for no reason. Your reviews I really admire and respect to where I can see an art into reviewing what music can behold. We have our own opinions but I admire that you praise all music and give them all a chance and time for I know having a UA-cam channel for 7+ years takes a lot of heart to do. What I’m trying to say is, I’m grateful that I got into your content and I’m happy that you’re doing great even from moments where you were in a dark place mentally. Sincerely thank you and can’t wait for what the 2020’s have to behold. Great video btw
I remember when I found you when In 2014 when I was 12-13. It might sound melodramatic but this feels like a sendoff to the first real decade of my life. All the things I did and didn’t listen too, and all the gold nuggets I found on my own. Goodbye 2010s, thanks for raising me! We all had wonderful ups and downs with you, and hopefully after the pandemic we’ll have plenty more with the 2020s!
I wanna disagree with you right off the bat mark as we do care about all the work you put in behind the scenes even outside of editing and such. We care very much about the work you put in and we very much appreciate everything you do to give us your opinions and thoughts and reviews :)

Jory Canfield Oh hi there! :3 My work making #28 on *anyone's* best albums of the decade list is kinda mind-blowing, but even setting aside this clear lapse in judgement, this list is great.
When you played "Distant Sky", I started crying. Just a beautiful song that wrecks me every time. Loved this list, I got a whole lot of albums to check out. And I'd like to thank you, it was your review that got me to check out Southern Family back in 2017, which lead me to be more open minded about country music, and lead me to "I Cried" by Brandy Clark, one of my favorite songs of all time. My top 15 of the decade would be: 15. Neil Cicierega- Mouth Moods 14. Against Me!- Transgender Dysphoria Blues 13. Denzel Curry- TA13OO 12. David Bowie- Blackstar 11. Purple Mountains- S/T 10. Lorde- Melodrama 9. Paramore- After Laughter 8. Car Seat Headrest- Twin Fantasy 7. Janelle Monae- The ArchAndroid 6. Tegan and Sara- Love You to Death 5. Kendrick Lamar- Good Kid, MAAD City 4. Such an ambitious undertaking. the effort, time, and care you poured into this list definitely paid off in a big way. I can definitely say you've put me onto albums and artists - especially in country music - over the years. With all that being said I guess I should post my list. I won't do 100, I don't think I managed to capture enough of the decade to go that far just yet, as it stands I'm already slanted towards certain artists and certain years, but 50 should do. 50. JPEGMAFIA - All My Heroes Are Cornballs 49. Paramore - After Laughter 48. Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour 47. Death Grips - The Money Store 46. A Tribe Called Quest - We Got It From Here... Thats a hell of a list. I don't listen to nearly as many albums as you do, but my favorites of the last decade have been Glitterbug by the Wombats, Rainbow by Kesha and Save Rock and Roll by Fall Out Boy. I can listen to those albums all the way through and not skip a single song. I love them to pieces.
damn..that was such a great list and while this has been said aplenty, you really are an amazing music critic. the way you transform art through your own experience of it...is an art in itself really. also...i can't really make my own list...cause i only got into listening to music in 2017 (that's a lot of great albums i missed) i really do love Dave's "PSYCHODRAMA" (yes even with Anthony's review)...idk, it just did something to me. and again, great list! so much to check out

pretty surreal to watch this, you're the best music critic on youtube and your passion and commitment to the art is inspiring, we love u hope you're well
Great list! I can't imagine the work this must have taken you to put together -- not just to decide on 100 albums from an entire decade and order them, but to express such nuanced explanations of what each entry means to you. I knew a whole lot less of the artists on this list than I did, but that didn't matter -- the contextual clip of music at the start and the deep, measured exploration of each one made this an engrossing watch regardless. I'll have to check out some of these artists; even the ones in genres I don't usually listen to had such obvious, undeniable talent, and the ones more within my wheelhouse seem like the perfect next entries in my music collection. Many thanks for putting this gargantuan project together, and here are some of my more specific thoughts: I was really glad to see some love for late-era Franz Ferdinand from you. They seem to have a bit of a Strokes effect, where their first two albums are considered their peak, and everything afterwards a significant drop in quality. My somewhat blasphemous opinion has long been that albums 3 & 4 are better than 1 & 2 (although even I'll admit Always Ascending wasn't that great). It's nice to see some appreciation from a critic for once, and it's especially nice to see RTRWRA get the praise, since that was the album that turned me from a fan of a few singles to a fan of the band as a whole. It's also great to see some love for El Vy, which seems to have slipped under the radar for a lot of people (myself included -- I heard about it in 2015, but didn't check it out until 2 years later, which I'm still kicking myself for). They put out such a good, vibrant album and it just got ignored, even by the bulk of Berninger's existing National fanbase, which is a huge shame. Hopefully your shoutout here will turn more people onto them. And speaking of the National, I'm always glad to see them show up in people's best-of lists, even if I don't necessarily agree on which album gets chosen. It's kinda nice, actually, that different people can get such different things out of their sound and entirely disagree on what their best is. My favourite of their 2010s output is (possibly predicably, since you already said "no, not that one") High Violet, specifically the Expanded Edition (minus the live tracks) for similar reasons to your own deluxe edition pick. It was the album that got me into the band, and the one I return to most often, though for a long time Boxer stole my top spot. Your top pick, Trouble Will Find Me, actually disappointed me on first listen and I didn't come back to it for years. I guess it just took me a while to accept it for what it was -- which is to say, not a whole lot like Boxer, High Violet, or anything else that came before it. When I did, though, I grew to like it a lot. I think it's joint 2nd place in my 2010s National rankings, alongside Sleep Well Beast, which had some really exciting highs but wasn't nearly as consistent as TWFM. I was a little surprised to hear you so dismissive of SWB (at least, that's what your tone seemed to convey), but I guess we just got different things out of it as a project. I'd have thought if you felt that way about any of their 2010s stuff, it would be IAETF rather than SWB, but perhaps that's just me expecting my own opinions to be more universal than they actually are. For me, where SWB was bold and experimental (at least, as far as the National /gets/ experimental), IAETF just felt bogged down in a lack of imagination. So many songs on there just felt redundant, and for an album so predominantly slowly-paced, the presence of multiple interludes to slow it down further didn't make a lot of sense to me. IAETF's interludes would have worked really well on an album that needed a change of pace to something slower, or to transition from one sound to another, but so often it was Slow Soft Song -> Slow Pretty Interlude -> Slow Soft Song and it just amplified the other problems I found with the album. SWB, for all its faults, had its pacing right and TWFM had consistency without sacrificing variety; it just feels like the band could've made better choices WRT tracklisting and editing the album down to just what it needed. But that's me getting off topic. I can't do a top 100 albums of the 2010s -- I probably don't even /have/ 50 2010s albums, let alone ones I'd call the best -- but I'll try a top 20 instead. Consider the order more of a suggestion than a rigid structure. 20. Approaching Nirvana -- Lapse In Time -- The soundtrack to many a Minecraft timelapse, but also much of my childhood, it's a listen that still holds up. 19. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard -- Paper Mache Dream Balloon -- Among King Gizzard's many style changes, this softer project more than holds its own. 18. Royal Blood -- Royal Blood -- A stunning rock debut that (unfortunately unlike its followup) is packed front to back with punchy, memorable hits. 17. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard -- Nonagon Infinity -- The neat gimmick of an infinitely looping album is only made worthwhile by the sheer quality within. 16. Franz Ferdinand -- Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action -- Possibly the band's best album, and certainly its most packed with character. 15. Sharon Van Etten -- Are We There -- An impeccable singer-songwriter album that only Van Etten could have made -- and, like her, something of an acquired taste. 14. Michael Giacchino -- Star Trek: Beyond Official Soundtrack -- It may be a franchise film soundtrack, but this is Giacchino on top form. 13. Idlewild -- Everything Ever Written -- After a 5 year hiatus, Idlewild returned with a comeback that effortlessly blended rock with Scottish folk. 12. REM -- Collapse Into Now -- REM's last album is a stunning tour-de-force that brought together everything that made them great for a brilliant, bittersweet finale. 11. BTS -- Love Yourself: Answer -- BTS's rising reputation is well-deserved, and of their 2010s output so far, LY: Answer is their best balance of quantity and quality. 10. Blur -- The Magic Whip -- Another comeback, Blur's only album since 2003 is surprisingly return to form that approaches, but doesn't quite equal their best. 09. The National -- Trouble Will Find Me -- An accomplished, focused album that refines The National's sound into a softer, somewhat colder career high. 08. ALVVAYS -- Antisocialites -- The Canadian indie group's sophomore effort goes from strength to strength with slicker, poppier production and catchy hooks. 07. The Novembers -- Rhapsody In Beauty -- Half raw, distorted rock, half slow, dreamy lullabies, it's both familiar and a change of pace for the Japanese rock outfit. 06. Foo Fighters -- Wasting Light -- The best of their 2010s output by far, a compelling, back-to-basics rock album that delivers from start to finish. 05. The Novembers -- Angels -- The Novembers' 2019 release encompasses the heart of what made them so good while sonically taking a bold step forwards. 04. My Chemical Romance -- Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys -- MCR's criminally underrated swansong drastically switched styles but stuck the landing. 03. The Novembers -- Zeitgeist -- A perfect blend of heavy, raging rock and softer, more contemplative entries; this 2013 album is the band's best so far. 02. EL VY -- Return to the Moon -- A fantastic side project I still kick myself for sleeping on, and which has become one of my most replayed albums of all time. 01. The National -- High Violet (Expanded Edition) -- Possibly my favourite album of all time, it's a rich, beautiful effort from a band at their peak. And here's an honourable mentions list for the three albums I wanted on the list, but turned out to be from 2009: 02. Green Day -- 21st Century Breakdown 03. Pink -- Funhouse 01. Franz Ferdinand -- Tonight: Franz Ferdinand
Great vid, great list, heres my personal top 10 of the decade, no repeating artists: 1. Teen Dream - Beach House 2. A I A: Dream Loss/Alien Observer - Grouper 3. Titanic Rising - Weyes Blood 4. The Powers that B - Death Grips 10. To Pimp a Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar
Spectrum Pulse 2: The Movie (Rating Strong 7/10) Not great as the first one due to pacing and dramatic payoff. It also runs too long and some albums was cut.
I’m very late to the party on this due to time constraints in my schedule and having to compensate for a very long video, but awesome job with the video nonetheless Mark. The overall production and presentation of the video itself was extremely well done and professional and while there are several albums here that I probably would never be able to get into, especially the ones in genres that are so not for me, I’m glad to see you be so passionate about everything you tackled here and I’m glad you enjoy so many of these albums as much as you do. Great job! 👍🏻
This video was incredible and totally worth the wait. I was surprised Courtney Marie Andrews' May Your Kindness Remain was not on here, but I guess it did not resonate long term as much as it did for me (I also loved her last record way more than you did).
That was the same feeling that I had with May Your Kindness Remain. I love it, but it is not an album that gets deeper from the messiness of life such as it is more of a lush soundtrack to it. Surprisingly, at least for me, I consider Old Flowers to be her best record to date, and right now it is my favorite country record of 2020
@@washingmashine921 Interesting take! Old Flowers is so achingly sad, its language actually feels personal and real, and the meditative and minimalist instrumental approach is fitting for what she is going for thematically.
@@hugopalazzo7496 what I like to imagine is that the quietness gives it more of a dreamy scenery, so the wordplay has space to travel through. It's like two people, Courtney and the listener, have a conversation in the middle of the night in the dreamy mist, where Courtney tells her heartbreak and love stories to you.
Hype hype hype! Your positive lists are always my favorites, and with the amount of quality this will have, I know this is going to be something special!
@Ryan Schilling Oh I knew about the 10s, I love his Skeleton Tree review, but Astoria was my personal favorite album on this list so I was really interested to see if it would grow over time and would consider it a personal victory to have it too the list.
@Ryan Schilling Damn, I loved God's Plan - thought the dark energy of the song was unparalleled and I loved how it transitioned into the final leg of the album. Great to see another Chvrches fan tho!
@Ryan Schilling Chvrches: 1. Bones 2. Love is Dead 3. EOE I know that one is controversial but I never clicked with the whole of EOE the same way Marianas Trench 1. Astoria 2. Masterpiece Theatre 3. Phantoms 4. Ever After 5. Fix Me The top 2 are pretty close and Phantoms and Ever After are both great, I really dislike fix me tho
It took me a while to get through this, taking note of all the albums I haven't heard of so I can add them to my list. Most of my sources didn't put nearly as many country albums as you did. I don't have much of a list for this decade, since I didn't try to start making lists until the decade was nearly out. I did try to make an all-time favorites list, but that hasn't gotten beyond sixteen albums since I'm rethinking my whole methodology. Here's the 2010s albums that made the list: 1: Kate Tempest-Let Them Eat Chaos 2: Kendrick Lamar-good kid, m.A.A.d city 3: The Phantom Band-Fears Trending 4: Kno-Death Is Silent 5: Queens of the Stone Age-...Like Clockwork 6: St. Vincent-St. Vincent 7: Lingua Ignota-Caligula 8: The Notwist-Close to the Glass 9: Billy Woods & Kenny Segal-Hiding Places 10: Dave-Psychodrama Also, Push the Sky Away WAS the Nick Cave album that made me realize he was awesome; I'd say Let Love In is my favorite album of his, though it's been a long time since I listened to his whole discography.
The fact that im so willing to spend 2 and a half hours watching your list while i postpone every movie and show from my watch list constantly. That says something lmao.
Cannot fucking believe someone else has heard of Poets of the Fall, much less that they made it to 82! I love this band and Jealous Gods is easily my favourite record of theirs.
Great stuff, amazing work, watched it from beginning to end. Props to you. Not saying this should have been on the list, but an artist that I think you would definitely enjoy listening too, given many of those that *were* on the list, is Shakey Graves. Start with "And The War Came". It's glorious. Or "Shakey Graves on Audiotree Live (2015)". Saw him a couple of times when he was in Australia and haven't stopped listening since. (also think Them Crooked Vultures was the better Josh Homme project than Like Clockwork, but that's neither here nor there)
It really speaks to the power of your #3 pick that just hearing the music in the background is enough to make me tear up. Jesus fuck, I need to listen to that album late at night, sitting alone with only the light of my computer screen. It may cause an out-of-body experience.
So given that I've followed Mark for years it is an interesting meta game to guess what artist or more specific album is coming when he is preaching each entry
eeehhhhggggnnnn... "Hand. Cannot. Erase." and "The Raven That Refused To Sing And Other Stories" are more consistent than "To The Bone." It's not bad, but not a masterpiece like his previous two. I'm loving this list though, thank you so much for your hard work!

Awesome stuff. I didn't have the time to watch this video when it was released but I got it recommended to me today and I wanted to see your list and share my favorites of the past decade. It feels weird to have a 2010s list when 2020 is almost coming to an end (THANK GOD!) but I understand how many months a video like this would take, I honestly have to respect how much determination and dedication it would take to make a video like this.
(Continuation from the previous comment, when it went from #100 to #036).... #035: I like it...Not my favorite but, I don't mind it. #034: Oh my goodness I can't believe I forgot about this person. But it's the same with Kyle Craft, just never bothered to listen to them. #033: Been months since I've seen Spectrum's review on it, and sadly, I never bothered to check him out. Oh well, some music I don't feel like listening to so. #032: Return to the moon definitely reminds me of the song "Shut Up And Dance". This one, if it ever had a mashup with the other song I mentioned, it would be fuckin' awesome. I'm definitely going to take a listen to these guys when I get the chance to. #031: Not bad of a track, although not sure about the album though. #030: It's okay, but definitely not my favorite. #029: Definitely has those early 80s vibes I tell ya. Definitely gonna check that album out for sure. #028: YES!! The moment I saw Spectrum's review on it, I had to check it out, and the "Isn't it eassssyy!!!" track, definitely got me hooked into their album. Sadly though, their other songs weren't as catchy to me as the one played in this video. Although I prefer to pitch it down by -3 to a close C# key, and to me it really sounds nicer comapred to the regular pitch of the original. #027: This one reminds me so muh cf the mid to late 2000s or even early 2000s rock band music, when that type of genre use to be popular when I was growing up in the 2000s. #026: Ohhh Man, Zac Brown Band. Heard of them years ago, just ended up forgetting about them for years. Didn't know it would end up here so, that's a plus. Love the album cover too as well, especially the mary skull face and the poacher on the end of the stick. And with the candles above her head (or is that treee branches?? I can't tell). #025: Ehhhh, it's okay. Again, metal is not my favorite. So I don't have this on the top of my own list so. #024: I like this one, I do think this is the only country artist, besides Lori McKeena, that I do like from Country. Thanks Spectrum. #023: OHH YES, the Mountain Goats. Although, I only liked one track out of the entire album. (Yes, I know, that's shit. But guess what? I'm looking for some 1960s groove music that I can easily listen to in the car. So, that's why I only took one song out of the entire album. Still have it in my Zune to this day if I ever need to listen to it.) #022: Ahhh yes, this one. Heard about it two years ago, and I do like their cover to this day. It made me look back at the original called The Highway Men, and loved that version as well. #021: Not my favorite from Lori McKenna sadly so. #020: OHHHH God This Album. Fuck This, I still dislike it to this day, even when it came out 5 years ago. Eugh!! No thank you. #019: Saw Spectrum's review on it, but I sadly didn't like it. So, never listened to him to be honest. #018: Another favorite artist that I completely forgot about for years until this video brought it back up again. #017: Not bad, I get those space jam vibes whenever I listen to this type of music. #016: I don't mind the song, but I don't care for the artists. Sorry. #015: Ehhhhhh, not my favorite sadly. #014: Not a bad one, but not a song I would listen to personally. #013: Good golly I forgot about this guy and for a good reason. While I do like the album cover, a potential for making some stained glass art, I sadly don't like the music in this album. Sorry. #012: Ehhh, it's okay, not my favorite sadly. #011: I remember the album cover, but I completely forgot this existed years ago. And probably didn't care too much about it either, find it slow and boring in my opinion. #010: I get what Spectrum Pulse is saying on here, but, this is something I would listen to in a movie soundtrack, that I would only listen to it once and never come back to it again. This type of music is just not the right mood or song to fit within the mood of creating, working, or writing/drawing content/making videos. So, just not something I would listen to in the background on VirtualDJ. #009: Forgot about this artist too. Reason: Didn't care too much about her. Again, not a country listener, more of a electro house/dance music type of person. #008: I like the concept, I don't mind the instrumental or vocals, but I would prefer not to listen to it while working on other stuff in the background or on my VirtualDJ program. Sorry. (Shrugs) #007: Another good album, and this one made me feel bad if why I have not heard of these type of artists sooner. Oh well, probably never searched for them in the first place. Then again I came to Spectrum Pulse for the billboard breakdowns, not so much his album reviews. #006: Again, not my favorite artist. While others do like it, I surely don't. Just saying. #005: Oh yes! I love these guys. Probably one of my favorite groups that remind me so much of the band "FUN". I listened to echoes of you from them, and loved them ever since. Definitely abn artist I look forward to seeing them release more music. #004: Oh my goodness, I love piano ballads, so this would definitely fit. Especially that one track playing in this video. This is the Lori Mckenna that I love, not the 2016 one sadly. 2010/2011/2012 had a lot of good music, during what was considered the club EDM era at that time (being considered to me as my favorite music time point of the entire music history). #003: I...AM...A HUGE FAN OF melancholy and sad music. This one I wish I knew it sooner. This would have fit exactly what I was going through in 2016. Definitely am going to use that album to be used as a way for me to listen to when i'm down or sad/angry/upset/or calm. Filling the silent atmosphere with the song playing in this video. #002: Forgot about this artist too, reminds me a lot of Madonna of the new era. Can't believe I forgot about her. Although, I did listen to it years ago, and sadly, I never really got behind it. Never liked it for some reason. Hopefully, being 25 and all after my birthday in December, I'll give it another listen to see if I like it or not currently. #001: (Jaw drops) o__O__o Ohh....My.....God.....This is fuckin' fantastic. Holy shit, reminds me so much of church music. Geebus Crust, how did i not hear about this. I should give it a listen at some point. I may end up liking what is played in the video. Definitely am going to check it out. I understand this was a very, very, very long comment. But I figured I might as well spend 5 to 8 hours doing this. Thanks for reading though, and I do look forward to your next one when the 2020s are over and we say hello to the 2030s. Same with the 2040s and beyond.
I can’t imagine how much effort went into this. It’s a great list too, but let’s be honest. To pimp a butterfly was undoubtedly the best album of the last decade and possibly the best album of all time.
sick list, here's mine lmao (only top 50 bc I'm unfortunately not a music listening god like you) 50. 'Black Up' by Shabazz Palaces 49. There's only one choice of best album of the decade; To Pimp a Butterfly is one the greatest albums of album of all time, let alone the best of the decade. No album comes even close in the decade, but I loved that you placed Marianas Trench in #5, Astoria is fantastic.
I should jist type this on the Astoria review but I'll put it here cause I can't be bothered to go to the review itself I stsrted with Astoria and adored it based on marks old review I then went back and listened to their entire catalog and was able to appreciate elements of Astoria nota5 how dearly departed so.ehow hits gut pinches even deeper with the callbacks to all the songs from previous albums
Did I just miss it or did Mark not include Teens of Denial by CSH? Could’ve sworn he gave that record a 9, and I think it’s as relevant now as it was in 2016 (maybe even more so).
I’d love to see how many albums Marianas Trench can land on this list. Obviously Astoria will be on it, but I guess we’ll have to see if Ever After and Phantoms can get on it too
I cannot possibly even begin to fathom how much work goes into making a video like this.
Diamond Axe Studios Music Yeah imagine listening to 100 albums.
PrometheusTV imagine listening to hundreds and hundreds of albums this decade and having to hear them all over again and then put the ones you like the most on this list.
I've probably only listened to maybe 40-50 full albums ever.... I can't even fathom how much work this is for one project.
YeetJay Likes Music I was being sarcastic
This is coming from the guy who's imminently doing a 1000 Songs Ranked Worst to Best video
You have probably the most unique top of the decade list out there with bunch of underrated af helll albums. Amazing video, definitely was worth a wait! Can't say what's my top 100 of the decade, but my favorite album is definitely Joy As an Act of Resistance by Idles.
Dragame Алексей Al Yeah it seems like people put the same few albums at the top of the list
Said in the live chat I was hoping for some IDLES... although I’d put it in my top 10 at least, nice to see it

I'm so incredibly happy that Imaginaerum is here! It is one of my favorite albums of all time!
This is exactly what I want to see on my day off today.
All those albums are from good to great! You got taste 👌
Take a shot every time dave cobb is mentioned. Fr the mans a powerhouse
finally found the time to watch this!
life can just escape you sometimes...
damn..that was such a great list and while this has been said aplenty, you really are an amazing music critic.
the way you transform art through your own experience of it...is an art in itself really.
also...i can't really make my own list...cause i only got into listening to music in 2017 (that's a lot of great albums i missed)
i really do love Dave's "PSYCHODRAMA" (yes even with Anthony's review)...idk, it just did something to me.
and again, great list!
so much to check out

fortnute kiddo LMAO Pop 2 isn’t an album
Love to see ye at the top
pretty surreal to watch this, you're the best music critic on youtube and your passion and commitment to the art is inspiring, we love u hope you're well
I did NOT expect to see Imaginaerum on this list, let alone so incredibly high! My debatable taste in music feels somewhat validated now, lol
One thing I learned from Mark is that never use the word sentimental when you can use sentimentality.
Incredible presentation! I can't wait to check out all these albums. You're the only music critic I trust 100%
Many thanks for putting this gargantuan project together, and here are some of my more specific thoughts:
I was really glad to see some love for late-era Franz Ferdinand from you.
And here's an honourable mentions list for the three albums I wanted on the list, but turned out to be from 2009:
02. Green Day -- 21st Century Breakdown
03. Pink -- Funhouse
01. Franz Ferdinand -- Tonight: Franz Ferdinand
Great vid, great list, heres my personal top 10 of the decade, no repeating artists:
1. Teen Dream - Beach House
2. A I A: Dream Loss/Alien Observer - Grouper
3. Titanic Rising - Weyes Blood
4. Chuck Person's Eccojams Vol.1 - Chuck Person
5. HAQQ - Liturgy
6. Love and Affection for Stupid Little Bitches - Black Dresses
7. Public Strain - Women
8. Emotion - Carly Rae Jepsen
9. The Powers that B - Death Grips
10. To Pimp a Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar
sooooo excited!!!...this is gonna be fun
The Unforgiving was a surprise, to be sure. A great moment of nostalgia, and a criminally underrated album.
Spoiler alert: there's gonna be more country albums than on Fantano list
Ahahah yeah😁
That's the reason why I follow many yt music critics, each is usually really deep and reliable on a subset of genres
You don’t even know it.
I'm only rolling through the top 40 of your list, and I'm finding some albums that I'm really looking forward to hearing.
Was not expecting Astoria to be the highest 9/10 review on this list. No arguments here.
I love you honeybear at 13! When you got to the top 20 I thought u might’ve left it off. Favorite album of 2010s
Bro got that AVGN fit
I'm honestly shocked the turnpike troubadours didn't show up on here somewhere
Hype hype hype! Your positive lists are always my favorites, and with the amount of quality this will have, I know this is going to be something special!
I was rooting for Astoria at #1 but this list was amazing. Cannot imagine the amount of work this must have taken.
@Ryan Schilling Oh I knew about the 10s, I love his Skeleton Tree review, but Astoria was my personal favorite album on this list so I was really interested to see if it would grow over time and would consider it a personal victory to have it too the list.
@Ryan Schilling I personally much prefer Bones over EOE but Chvrches are just a stunning band so I can't say I disagree
@Ryan Schilling Damn, I loved God's Plan - thought the dark energy of the song was unparalleled and I loved how it transitioned into the final leg of the album. Great to see another Chvrches fan tho!
@Ryan Schilling
Chvrches:
1. Bones
2. Love is Dead
3. EOE
I know that one is controversial but I never clicked with the whole of EOE the same way
Marianas Trench
1. Astoria
2. Masterpiece Theatre
3. Phantoms
4. Ever After
5. Fix Me
The top 2 are pretty close and Phantoms and Ever After are both great, I really dislike fix me tho
Even though they're both awesome, I prefer Ever After to Astoria. I just find it more consistent
Thank you for making this! I was so excited to watch, I’ve loved your commentary for years :)
Love the work that goes into vids like this
It took me a while to get through this, taking note of all the albums I haven't heard of so I can add them to my list. Here's the 2010s albums that made the list:
1: Kate Tempest-Let Them Eat Chaos
2: Kendrick Lamar-good kid, m.A.A.d city
3: The Phantom Band-Fears Trending
4: Kno-Death Is Silent
5: Queens of the Stone Age-...Like Clockwork
6: St. Vincent-St. Vincent
7: Lingua Ignota-Caligula
8: The Notwist-Close to the Glass
9: Billy Woods & Kenny Segal-Hiding Places
10: Dave-Psychodrama
Also, Push the Sky Away WAS the Nick Cave album that made me realize he was awesome; I'd say Let Love In is my favorite album of his, though it's been a long time since I listened to his whole discography.
The fact that im so willing to spend 2 and a half hours watching your list while i postpone every movie and show from my watch list constantly. That says something lmao.
You should review Lambo Season by Yung Lambo, it's a really surreal album that just hits different
Cannot fucking believe someone else has heard of Poets of the Fall, much less that they made it to 82! I love this band and Jealous Gods is easily my favourite record of theirs.
I was shocked to see Daughters and Swans so low, but fantastic video nonetheless
Sorry person in the replies, but TPAB is my favourite album ever.
Agree on those, definitely much higher on my list, but at least TPAB wasn't his number one. #Mostoverratedalbumever
You know listing The Click as 1-100 hardly counts as a list Mark!
So given that I've followed Mark for years it is an interesting meta game to guess what artist or more specific album is coming when he is preaching each entry
Can't wait, I think chime by dessa will take the top spot, but we'll see.
Damn, almost
I'm not that surprised, but I am surprised melodrama didn't make the list proper
@@jchmusic7587 probably too uneven for him
eeehhhhggggnnnn... "Hand. Cannot. Erase." and "The Raven That Refused To Sing And Other Stories" are more consistent than "To The Bone." It's not bad, but not a masterpiece like his previous two.
I'm loving this list though, thank you so much for your hard work!
Thank you for making me want to listen to so much more music.
Ian Noe is definitely one of my favorite country artists. I can’t wait to hear his music moving onto the future.
This is basically spectrum pulse the movie and I love it
This was about as long as your livestream videos Mark
Kaleidoscope Dream is such a fantastic album and I’m glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves!

How many times did he mention Dave Cobb?
I swear to god if The Click and Tangled Up aren’t on here...
1:49:30 certainly hits different after Weathervanes... he really did have it in him.
I called his number 1 pick!!!! Not that hard to predict TBH though.
It feels weird to have a 2010s list when 2020 is almost coming to an end (THANK GOD!) but I understand how many months a video like this would take, I honestly have to respect how much determination and dedication it would take to make a video like this.
Mark finally spoke about Kesha's virality on Tik Tok this year.
React to lambo season by yung lambo
Still have it in my Zune to this day if I ever need to listen to it.)
#022: Ahhh yes, this one.
Sorry. (Shrugs)
#007: Another good album, and this one made me feel bad if why I have not heard of these type of artists sooner.
We need a longform video about poptimism (featuring RS) one day :D
Can’t wait too see it!
Omg, it's here! The hype is real ladies and gentlemen!

Mark & I hardly agree on anything, but when we do it’s like he’s reading my mind verbatim
Next video. The Top 100 Best Albums of ALL-TIME
Im really curious on your thoughts about cinematic EDM music, especially faux Tales since his album Hiraeth is my album of the decade 👌
Mark we get you like them but stop putting AJR in every one of yours videos. 🙄
There's only one choice of best album of the decade; To Pimp a Butterfly is one the greatest albums of album of all time, let alone the best of the decade. No album comes even close in the decade, but I loved that you placed Marianas Trench in #5, Astoria is fantastic.
Those samples are so useful. This should be the norm
You should run the mainstream country chart.
Like, just sitting there and placing songs up and down as you please.
It’d be beneficia.
I should jist type this on the Astoria review but I'll put it here cause I can't be bothered to go to the review itself
I stsrted with Astoria and adored it based on marks old review
I then went back and listened to their entire catalog and was able to appreciate elements of Astoria nota5 how dearly departed so.ehow hits gut pinches even deeper with the callbacks to all the songs from previous albums
Did I just miss it or did Mark not include Teens of Denial by CSH? Could’ve sworn he gave that record a 9, and I think it’s as relevant now as it was in 2016 (maybe even more so).
He gave it an 8
Dragame Алексей Al Ah, my memory just fails me then.
I would have to give mine to To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick or The Now Now by Gorillaz
I'm here for voltorb
I’d love to see how many albums Marianas Trench can land on this list. Obviously Astoria will be on it, but I guess we’ll have to see if Ever After and Phantoms can get on it too
Respect for Algiers. Also, #cobbforever.
