- Some pointers to help you get on the track of finding gold with a metal detector. This was a 2 week trip to a few old haunts. Includes digging up nuggets and explaining what to look for.
Great tips that can apply to many old diggings, thanks. Your methodical methods and knowledge works very well.
Thanks for not going " repetitively" over the "target" like most other operators do. When you get a "contact signal" once or twice you just dig it. I have a theory that a lot of detector operators become mesmerised, ( hypnotised?). A bit like the song or ad you hate but can't get out of your head. 😵. Well done , good luck to you Glenn.
Thanks! I know what you mean, it's enough to make you stop watching. I've been detecting so long now that it's just an automatic process. You only need to know where it is, it's not going to run away ;)
Hi there Glen, very informative detecting tips with no bullshit, absolutely love your calm pleasant easy going manner, looking forward to one day giving it a bash myself.. all the best for your future gold prospecting outing’s, keep gold coming but leave a little for me.. cheers
Fantastic video! Very informative and a pleasure to watch. Thank you for taking the time to share your invaluable knowledge. More like this at some stage would be highly appreciated. Cheers.
Very good job making that video Glenn. Factual, great content and no hype. The northern spot struck me as a very promising area.
Thanks Lachlan, I value feedback both positive and negative. It helps improve what we do. Unfortunately it might be another 12 months before I can get back that way. It certainly has some good potential.
Cheers Glenn, well presented and bloody informative.
Appreciated efforts indeed mate.
Best of luck to you and yours.
Very nice Glenn , thank you for sharing the knowledge you acquired in years past . mel
Excellent video Glenn...hope to see more...!
thanks glen well told information and thanks for not adding stupid music as so many do cheers mate
Nice alluvial patch keep up the great work
Like your work Glenn. Have the same equipment GPZ 7000 and SDC 2300. When I get my coaster sorted will drop in, in my travels. Only been into detecting for 18 months working some areas mid Vic when I can Get away. Finds so far is only 1.2 gram and a 1844 British half crown. Pretty heavily picked over the digs were I venture. Have done a lot of research on long range locators and have ordered one from the USA. Looking forward to testing and reviewing it. Cheers Glenn great video............
Wow that looks great mate. It's magic to see some gold coming out. If there were some good gold areas in the bundy area where I live I'd get one of those machines tomorrow. Good luck.
Awesome video Glenn! You just did what i dreamt of for a long time, and on the right spot (Queensland) Its so beautiful there. To bad i live on the other side of the planet..
Thank you!
Very informative & no waffle! Very well done Glenn, thank you. I am a new subscriber.
Thanks Keith!
That ground looks good enough to eat. The long shot at 14.00? of you digging a nugget is great. Being further away it gives a visual perspective of the lone prospector.
I've done my fair share of prospecting alone. It's so much better when you have someone to share the experience with.
Great video Tim from Victoria
Thanks for sharing your tips. The hard yakka that you done paid off.
Well presented Glenn.
thanx mate, I live in Townsville and have just brought an Equinox 800, looking forward to getting amongst it.
Best of luck!
Very informative and pleasently presented. Enjoyed it alot
Very informative Glen. Just starting so helps me considerably many thanks.
Loved it Glen, well done thanks for the tips.
Thanks for the great video mate.It was really interesting and informative.Thumbs up.
That is a bloody awesome video mate. Well done
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been detecting for close to 30 years and hopefully I can pass on a hint or two that can help others find more or the beginner their first piece.
Very informative... I've got about 15years up. I run a 5000 evo coil set-up, i detect mostly nsw and sometimes vic, never been up north but keen to get up there one day. Look forward to more of you videos. Thanks again.
Even though I live in NSW, I've not done a great deal here. I'm only an hour from Nundle, I better give it a go. I'm leaving tomorrow for W.A. and I'll be teaming up with my mate, we are going to hit some places we've never been to before. Check out his channel (Dirty Harry000) for a few other videos we did.
I live in Bathurst ...detect high rubbish areas in Hillend and surrounds with good results. Found my best patch last year...was sitting under everyones noses right next to a popular camping spot..sometimes it doesn't make sense. Best of luck in WA ...
G Day Glen thanks for an awesome realistic insight into prospecting north QLD I have family on the Gold Coast I try to visit every other year at Christmas January is raining all the time what would the best time of year be to go prospecting ? So I can plain my next visit around that time I’ll definitely come visit you on your shop too ATB Mel
Thanks for the kind words. For Queensland and most of the country, May to August without a doubt! That would be great, I look forward to a chat ;)
Very nice finds glen, great tips and I thouroughly enjoyed every minute cheers

Just subbed mate. Very informative video bud and some sweet gold too. Looking forward to your next vid.

I really like your vid mate, I watched this vid when it 1st came out and thought I'd subscribed back then🥶🥶 I just spoke to a group member re Clermont detecting and I suggested your vid.......lol thinking I was subscribed Hhhaaa so after an hour of searching BANG I'm on lol.
Nice content mate⛏⛏⚒🇦🇺
At least you found it again. Thanks for subscribing and I hope you all get something helpful from it!
Great video mate...thanks...might get there one day soon...
Hi Glenn thanks for sharing your knowledge, I am new to detecting so every tip is useful! I am looking forward to swinging my detector around the Thanes Creek area in a few weeks.....and maybe my first nugget :). Would you recommend any particular book for the QLD areas?
Nice to see you back at the Gilberton 'area'.
It's lovely to watch an Aussie prospector who doesn't sound like an illiterate yobbo, for a nice change. Well done, Glenn!
LOL Thank You Megsy! I've been prospecting for gold and gemstones for close to 30 years. The filming side is relatively new to me, so I'm glad I come across this way.
Just getting into prospecting and after seeing how hard the ground is, I need to buy a bigger pick before I head out there
Get yourself a quality pick. Nothing worse than having equipment failure out in the field.
@@BargyandWills thanks mate will do, do you think I should get one of those picks with a magnet on the handle?
I carry a magnet in my back pocket. You can check out the video on the gear I carry. If you are detecting in the eastern states they are a must for saving valuable time.
Awesome video mate !
Great video mate and nice looking gold
Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing
Cheers Gerard.
Nice work chief! Just the audio was a bit low, hope to be able to drop into the sometime soon, cheers..
Good video Glen , very interesting and informative, Cheers Peter T
I am new to your channel, great video sometimes you have to work a little for the bigger pieces those GP7 are a great metal detector they really get down deep.
Thank you! At the moment the 7000 is the best there is.
Thanks for the tips mate
Great information thank you
Cheers Bruce
You're most welcome!
Cheers Glenn, great vid :)
Any chance you can speak a lot louder mate. Need the volume on HIGH just to barely hear you, then an ad comes on and busts my eardrums
Sorry about that. I didn't have sound equipment with me.
Can't THANK YOU ENOUGH" newbie here"
Hope it helps you get some colour!
good work i can understand something now
Смотрю. Очень интересно. Тоже хочу в Сибири занятся поиском. Рядом со мной много бывших и действующих приисков .
What detector are you running mate
Minelab GPZ-7000.
From two mile to Sandy. I'll say no more.
Well done old son!!
HI Glen, just wondering i have been looking at detectors being new to detecting what do you think is a good detector in that mid range, in pricing as well i see a lot on the XP.0RX what are your thoughts. cheers
I can only talk on Australian soils. I would not buy anything other than a Minelab and I'd be looking at a second hand gpx 4500.
Thanks for your thought's on that Glen. Cheers
@@BargyandWills Hi mate,i bought M/LAB 4500 HAD A HOUSE MOVE and a few other things happening so keen to get out and use it, maybe around Warwick.
@@dingydate Never looked around there but I've seen plenty of nuggets found from around there by others. There has been a new area open up this week at Clermont, just up the raod for you, could be worth a look if you get the chance. My favourite coils for my 4500 is the nugget finder 16" or 12 " for small stuff. I used the 16" 99% of the time. Good luck and let us know how you go.
@@BargyandWills I HAVE A Mate that is paying to be on a claim north west of Clermont, he has been finding a little gold , its a pay to be there spot. Back to the coils mate i like the look of the EVO 17x13 it might have to be an extra, one of these days. the 16 x12 has found a lot of gold as well. ok cheers mate thanks for the tips, hope things are going well at the shop. Chris
What type of dectors are you using?
Just subscribed Cool channel.

GRREAT VID"THANKS!!
It was a shame the audio was so low ,had to shut this vid down as it was very fustrating straining to hear every word .
Sorry for that, I don't have the quality gear required. I'm also not the most tech savvy, but I'm getting there and hope to improve.
@@BargyandWills all good Glen🌝👍👍👍
What settings are you using
Fully cranked!
@@BargyandWills
Thanks for getting back. Newbie with the 7000 here. Just trying to learn all I can. Not sure what “cranked” means. But I will continue my pursuit. Happy nug hunting
Glen do you have a e-mail address for the shop Glen? Chris
Try side longo if u wa na tLk ao far away
Было бы хорошо если был бы письменный перевод.
Mate, the audio is shocking. I have it up full to hear you and because of that, I may stop watching sorry.
Hi Glenn, I,m a new subscriber!! You are speaking TOO SOFTLY, and its too hard to Understand You!! You need to start speaking ALOT LOUDER, or there NO USE for me to Stay a Subscriber!! NamVetLesTreasureSeeker.
Sorry Lester, I knew this was going to be a problem. As we do more the better we'll get.
Man cant hear ya
We can't hear you, to far away.
CAN'T HEAR A BLOODY THING THIS GUY IS SAYING, WHAT SORT OF VIDEO IS THIS... CLICK CLICK... SO MUCH FOR TIPS
I know the sound isn't the best but others are hearing it ok. I'm not a movie maker with thousands of dollars of recording equipment, I do what I can. What device are you watching this on please, so I can try to improve the sound for future videos? Sorry it's not the best!
