For anyone who may have missed it, I did cook and try some limpets in a beach cooking video. Can you guess how they tasted? Here’s the video. 😉👍🏻 m.ua-cam.com/video/Sj4GC-7oJMs/v-deo.html
Yes I watched that, he he they didn't go down well did they but the Wrasse you caught and I like to think that was specimen enjoyed them more than you. Still your living the Dream. good on you and the family.

Wow, that Wrasse was a monster! What a beast! Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Well done. James is so funny. You're a great dad. Thanks for the nice video
We had limpets at a village festival on Madeira. Cooked in their shells in garlic butter and with a glass of the locally brewed spirit they were amazing 😉

Thanks John & James, I too love the smell of fresh washed up seaweed, takes me right back to my early days in Cornwall. I love the location of today’s video!!! Wow what a bruiser of a wrasse! Wonderful colours John. You have now got some great marks for future fishing/snorkelling! even swimming for young James!! Love his knowledge of the anemones in the rock pools!! I would've fallen right off that wall arouond the stone house. Also, growing up where I did, I learned about layering clothing early on like James is. My dad always used to tell me, "You can take it off, but you can't put it on." meaning, if you don't have it with you, and you get cold, tough luck.
Absolutely brilliant video, what a great dad you are, James can only flourish under your guidance. I do enjoy the walks and a bit of history and also sharing the knowledge that you have. I have learned alot by watching you channel. Be safe. Many thanks and kind regards Chris
One of my earliest memories is my dad his mate and me. At Bamburgh they were fishing the rocks using limpets and pulled out an enormous wrasse. Like the one in this vid. (Ballan wrasse?) amazing. To me it was 8 foot long. Now my point is. That was over 50 years ago. So it’s great to watch you and the little un recreating my memories. (To me at least) he’s a star mate. Gonna be a proper lad. Enjoyed the trip. Atb. 👍 🎣

Like you this year is 50 yrs since a caught my first fish with my late father But i still fish that same place ..about the same time of year... Using a handline like i did back then.... Thanks Jon, great to join you and James on this little adventure.....and what a cracking wrasse, the colours never fail to impress. James is a great lad, and watching you together you can see why, you’re giving him a great life.
Cracking wrasse John, how lucky you are to live in a place where you can catch fish like that without even trying!! James is lucky too, to have adventures like that with his father, I used to take my boys everywhere with me for little adventures like that, you must cherish every moment that you have with the little fella, they grow up so quickly!! Watching this reminded me of those times I had with my kids when they were younger with great fondness, they still come fishing occasionally or we'll have a walk in the woods exploring but they have so many other distractions in life!! I didn't think I would ever describe a fishing video as heart warming, I must be going soft in my old age lol!! All the best pal & look after yourself & your precious family.
It's being cooped up in the house that's doing it to you mate. You big softie. 😉😛 Take care of yourself and your family mate and I'll see you later. 👍🏻🎣

Beautiful Day! Thank you for sharing that amazing day with us! Takes me out of the snow and dark of the cold Canadian Arctic for 26 minutes of wonder and beauty and just a different landscape to appriciate!

I'm looking forward to the diving videos in that area. Looks like a fun adventure awaits! (Man, I wish I was there to dive, too. Oh wait, I will be, through your videos!) Thanks again for another great video! :)
A brilliant father & son outing. You'll both remember these outings for the rest of your lives. It's amazing how the lessons learned will stick in James mind. My son is now 9, and quotes lessons learned from back when he was 4-5. Keep up the awesome DadAdventures 😎
Great bonding session with the young in John brings back memories that little lad is gonna grow up just like his daddy your teaching him young. Now that’s what you call a wrasse gonna need a bigger boat !!!!😂😂take care and stay safe to you and the family 🏴🏴🏴👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nothing like catching big wrasse and boogies in ur hair. Means the day was amazing. James is totally at home out there. Our boys would have had to be chained to my wrist. Fabulous video on a fabulous day out!
Oh for sure, a good day out has to have some bogies in hair. James is really good and sensible in that type of situation, I put it down to the fact that we have had him out there with us since he was old enough to walk. 😊
My mom and dad had me out camping and fishing etc. Since I was 2 months old! She would have never had seen dad if she didn't go along with me and my brother Danny!!! 😆 Wish they were still here.🥀
If I am spared, I will be happy to follow James's vlogs 20 years from now. He will be so knowledgeable. Unfortunately I will probably be with the fishes by then! Great stuff guys.
Thank you very much Simon, we upload as frequently as we can. I understand that some people are struggling right now and that the videos can sometimes help. 😊
More a lesson in Fathership than a Fishing Vid John. I wish my Kids were that age again. Still I've got one of the Grandkids Fishing already ;) and he's loving it :) Bless your Hearts.
Now that’s a great day walking around mate👍 I don’t know what it is, but I really love walking by the sea on that kind of rocks. We don’t have many places here like that but further up north where my fam are from, there is lots of places like that. AND we could find all sorts of stuff that had been washed up on chore.😃 I must say, James 😂 and he have found you a new hairstyling product 🤣🤣 Now that wrasse was huge mate, and what beautiful colors on it. Stunning 👍 Have a good one and take care✌️
I love it too mate. This is literally what my childhood was like, out exploring with my brothers sisters and cousins every day on the shore in the woods. Take care of yourself my friend and stay safe. 😊
Pure magic. I remember years ago I was on the foreshore waiting for the geese and whilst crouching behind a whin ( gorse) bush I was nearly smacked in the face by a barn owl and that encounter was far less than three feet. Keep the videos coming it’s all helping the people stay sane
In just under a year since I found the fish locker, hasn’t James grown a lot, he is a wonderful boy,a real credit to Hannah and yourself, I cherish the times I took my twins boys fishing , It’s kept me sane finding your channel, 🎣👍
Fun trip. You have everything in your videos, including teleportation. James is enjoying himself so much on his outing with dad. I wish more people would do this.
Hi John, great video as usual! I love that bay, and there's a great gully to snorkel/dive along where hundreds of wrasse congregate - if you can see the bulk of the big submerged rock to the left of shot at 6:36, its the gully that runs between that & the outcrop, round towards PK. Can't wait to see the snorkeling vid!
@@TheFishLocker 🙂 The horizontal(ish) cracks between deposit layers also house silly numbers of velvet swimming & brown crabs, with a lot of lobby holes lower down! I've also seen plenty of big tub Gurnard & scallops the size of soup plates all round there 😋
Great video John. I like that you pointed out the local land marks and their purpose, very interesting. Looks like the young man had a good day out ☺. Ya know I too really like the smell of fresh seaweed on the beach especially straight after a storm and the sea is still heavy making a sea spray. That smell really reminds me of my childhood. Great times 😊
@@TheFishLocker I tell ya I miss that smell so much right now. Stuck in a nationwide travel lockdown, 90 miles away from the sea when I can only travel 5km 😒. At least I have some big loughs on my doorstep for pike and perch with the trout season starting next month.
James is getting so big and mature. So much braver, you are doing good Dad! Live wrasse fishing. When you said That looks wrassy, I was saying the same. Limpets are great bait, tough and easy to find. Stay safe.
That was a nice fish John beautiful color! James is gitting to be quite the little man. Won't be long before he takes over the camera duties!😂 Great video as always. I love the scenery nice to see places through the eyes of a couple of other fisherman like you and James. I will never get a chance to see or fish. 👍👍✌️
Love this video, that looks like a nice little place and would love to see you back there in the summer John. The teleportation and risk of exploding! made me laugh.......looks like you both had a lot of fun...lovely to see. 🤯🎣🦖
Oh wow, I can’t believe it!!!! You were at the mark that I always go when I’m down coverack. It’s a lovely place to go so peaceful and a really nice place to fish. Can’t wait to be back there John. Thank you for a brilliant video and for bringing it all back to me. Cheers mate 👍👍👍👍👍
Well I feel truly spoilt two great videos one after the other. Saved this one for my night time insomnia and as always thoroughly enjoyed it. What a splendid Wrasse (Caught on the things we don't like to eat) beautiful colours and markings. James identifying the anemones before his dad did (he needs a bit more practice skimming stones) As always a great video, lovely coastal scenery thanks for posting.
James - the star of the show! You did well getting so much on video, I love taking my kids rock pooling and fishing but could not handle a camera too!! - pro dad skills 👍
Great video! Perfect antidote for “no fishing” which ,for the most part, is the situation at the New Jersey shore in Jan/Feb. I envy your extreme tides. James the cameraman topped it off. Loved it John!
Wow john what beautiful colours, it looked like u was walking on another planet . Stunning location. Looked like u was having so much fun. All the best from GY.
Hi John, Great Father and son Video, and what a fantastic Wrasse, never caught one that big before so well done, I have been lucky to have fished in many parts of the world, it is hard to find a better coloured, pretty, and hard fighting fish pound for pound that a Wrasse. Cheers Ian
What a wonderful video mate. A cracking farther son adventure. He's going to grow up to be a fantastic fisherman he's learning from the best. Brilliant as always tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Cracking video John, love that part of the coast. Fished off the beach a couple of times back in the day. Mackerel used to come close in back then, so you could put a float out with some feathers on to get some fresh bait and a couple for the table. What a lovely wrass, fin perfect and what a size. Great to see James out with you and being a young scamp, hope there was not too much bogie el in your hair. best wishes to you all mate

A brilliant father & son outing. You'll both remember these outings for the rest of your lives. It's amazing how the lessons learned will stick in James mind. My son is now 9, and quotes lessons learned from back when he was 4-5. Keep up the awesome DadAdventures 😎
What's even better James is I will have these videos when I'm too old to remember. 😊
what a wonderful trip with your boy. looks like loads of fun for him, great memories made
We always have a great time Ben. Simply sharing what we love doing. 😊
If I have anything to do with James, he will grow up to be much better than I am. 😊
Lovley father and son video :) stunning wrasse and beautiful surroundings :) cheers for a fab Sunday video :)
My pleasure mate. It is a stunning spot round here, even better in the summer 😉
@@TheFishLocker may have to get Chris to chaparone me down!!!!
Wish they were still here.🥀
Great to see James enjoying himself so much... He’s such a sweet little guy and loves his Dad very much! Nice fish!
James is a little treasure isn't he. 😊💙
@@TheFishLocker he certainly is, he’s treasure! You definitely have a life long idol in him. He loved the teleporting! 😂
If I am spared, I will be happy to follow James's vlogs 20 years from now. He will be so knowledgeable. Unfortunately I will probably be with the fishes by then! Great stuff guys.
No one knows what the future has in store for us Colin. Please take care and stay safe. 😊
Letting James "re arrange" the beach made me giggle out loud, lovely video, and so soon after the last one, love them all. 👍
Thank you very much Simon, we upload as frequently as we can. I understand that some people are struggling right now and that the videos can sometimes help. 😊
Father & Son combination, had me laughing !!! Both of you having quality time together,, superb !!!
Our pleasure Paul, we are simply sharing what we love doing. 😊
More a lesson in Fathership than a Fishing Vid John.
I wish my Kids were that age again.
Still I've got one of the Grandkids Fishing already ;)
and he's loving it :)
Bless your Hearts.
Just sharing what we love doing Paul. Nothing better than time out on the shore like this. 😊
Precious times with your boy! He’s an absolutely cracking lad! Thanks for the content, enjoyable as always 🎣🎣
I have honestly been waiting since before James was born to share these things with him. 😊💙
They are absolutely silent aren't they!!
Thank you for these! Glad to see you and James back in action!
It is our pleasure Jodelina. Have a lovely day. 😊
In just under a year since I found the fish locker, hasn’t James grown a lot, he is a wonderful boy,a real credit to Hannah and yourself,
I cherish the times I took my twins boys fishing ,
It’s kept me sane finding your channel, 🎣👍
I will videos are a wonderful look back to when James was younger. I am glad you have enjoyed joining with Steve. 😊
A fantastic wrasse and James had a giggle, great fun.
Fun trip. You have everything in your videos, including teleportation. James is enjoying himself so much on his outing with dad. I wish more people would do this.
Hopefully upon seeing things like this, more people may. 😉
That is exactly the place where I was looking at. It does look really fishy. 😉👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker 🙂 The horizontal(ish) cracks between deposit layers also house silly numbers of velvet swimming & brown crabs, with a lot of lobby holes lower down! I've also seen plenty of big tub Gurnard & scallops the size of soup plates all round there 😋
That’s a lovely video again John and yes it’s a good place for snorkelling in summer and very good for spinning in the summertime
It is isn't it Adrian. 😉
Great light hearted video, the kid just had shear joy on his face the entire video.
We are so fortunate Graham. James is just a treasure. 😊
I absolutely agree with you Gary, fresh and with salt still in the air. Perfect. 😊
@@TheFishLocker I tell ya I miss that smell so much right now. Stuck in a nationwide travel lockdown, 90 miles away from the sea when I can only travel 5km 😒. At least I have some big loughs on my doorstep for pike and perch with the trout season starting next month.
Thoroughly enjoyable video of father and son bonding time.....
I am glad you enjoyed joining us mate. 😊
That's a wonderfully colored fish. Thanks for the video. It made me happy.
It is our pleasure, I am glad you enjoyed the video. Best wishes to you and your family and have a lovely evening. 😊
@@TheFishLocker thank. you have a nice day.
Lovely video mate a proper Dad and Lad bonding day ❤
It's lovely to see James loving life and enjoying himself and a cracking Wrasse for Dad! 😉🎣👍
Cheers mate. Just simply sharing what we love doing. Take care and tight lines but. 😉
Great to see such a stunning wrasse and lovely to see you and James having fun.
I love spending time with him like this he's such a character. 🤣
That was a wanderful adventure John, thanks for taking us along.!!
Is my pleasure Ed, I'm glad you could join us 😊
James is getting so big and mature. So much braver, you are doing good Dad! Live wrasse fishing. When you said That looks wrassy, I was saying the same. Limpets are great bait, tough and easy to find. Stay safe.
I agree mate, limpets are a great tough Wrasse bait. 😉👍🏻🎣
That was a nice fish John beautiful color! James is gitting to be quite the little man. Won't be long before he takes over the camera duties!😂
Great video as always. I love the scenery nice to see places through the eyes of a couple of other fisherman like you and James. I will never get a chance to see or fish.
👍👍✌️
I think it's more likely that he will be in front of the camera and I will be holding it Tim. Haha. 😊
@@TheFishLocker You are probably right or you will be taking turns. Time fly's ❗
Love this video, that looks like a nice little place and would love to see you back there in the summer John.
The teleportation and risk of exploding! made me laugh.......looks like you both had a lot of fun...lovely to see. 🤯🎣🦖
It's no laughing matter David!! Exploding hot people is a serious matter!!!
@@TheFishLocker 🤣🥵💥
Absolutely beautiful video John. Father and son time at it’s best 👍🏼
Couldn't agree more. 😊
Thanks John for another excellent video mate I love it when younger is out fishing with you stay safe .George Stoke 👍🎣
It is our pleasure George. Best wishes to you and your family and stay safe. 😊
The whole stretch of coastline is just wonderful isn't it. 😊
It is John, but seeing you there at my spot is making me miss it even more 🙏🙏👍👍
Gotta love James rearranging the beach in this one!
He is a little star isn't he. 😊
Ha ha yeah Dave, I will definitely choose feeding them to Wrasse over eating them myself. Skimming stones takes practice doesn't it mate. 😉
James - the star of the show!
You did well getting so much on video, I love taking my kids rock pooling and fishing but could not handle a camera too!! - pro dad skills 👍
Ha ha, yes it is no easy feat. 😉
Boogies in the hair--A new Cornish Hair Style Trend!! LOL!! Sweet John!! DmGrk
Remember, you saw it here first. 🤣😛
Fantastic man and family.
Love the way you talking about things.
Will wach it again later.
Have a good week.
I am glad that you are enjoying our videos. 😊
Great video! Perfect antidote for “no fishing” which ,for the most part, is the situation at the New Jersey shore in Jan/Feb. I envy your extreme tides. James the cameraman topped it off. Loved it John!
James did a fantastic job didn't he Jay. 😊
Wow john what beautiful colours, it looked like u was walking on another planet . Stunning location. Looked like u was having so much fun. All the best from GY.
We do have some amazing areas of coastline here in Cornwall. I'm glad you could join his Carl. 😊
Had a lovely picnic on that beautiful little cove a few years ago 🌱🌱🌱💕
It is a stunning little spot isn't it Joyce. 😊
Great video, i really enjoyed your interaction with little James, great stuff.
He’s my best boy
Hi John, Great Father and son Video, and what a fantastic Wrasse, never caught one that big before so well done, I have been lucky to have fished in many parts of the world, it is hard to find a better coloured, pretty, and hard fighting fish pound for pound that a Wrasse. Cheers Ian
I keep telling people about Wrasse. A good specimen is hard to beat anywhere in the world. 😊
What a wonderful video mate. A cracking farther son adventure. He's going to grow up to be a fantastic fisherman he's learning from the best. Brilliant as always tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Cheers mate, it was wonderful spending time with the kids like this isn't it. 😊
💜💜💜👍👍👍👍🐟🐟🐟🐟 lovely wrasse 👍👍👍👍. Lovely day making memories with James👍👍👍
We had a wonderful day. 😊
Yes it's a fine spot down there Stephen isn't it. Best wishes mate and good health to you and the family 😊
That beach reminds me of a viking setting it's real nice. I tell you one thing you and your son look like twins he looks just like you it's great making memories with your son. God bless you and your family be safe my brother
Making memories for both of us. Best wishes and take care brother. 😊
Another great video and a cracking wrasse. That's a great wee lad of yours.

It really is the best way to travel. 😉

Always a great time hangin with you and James. Beautiful fish you caught. Nice going. Stay safe my friend. 👍🍺
You're welcome with us any time Charlie, take care and stay safe mate. 😊
Beauty of a Wrasse 👌 never thought about using limpets good idea 💡
Just think about what they're eating naturally mate. Prawns, crabs and anything living on the rocks. 😉
@@TheFishLocker Cheeper than a Fiiish Minnow also haha 🤣
