The Ford Focus RS comes out of the blue corner swinging some big haymakers. With a 350PS punch from its 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine going to all four wheels via a trick torque vectoring drivetrain, it's made of the right stuff.

What a perfectly designed and crafted car. Never drove a car which makes me smile frantically as the RS before. And I drove some high HP cars from Porsche, Mercedes and BMW. The AWD makes the difference. Also I can't decline that the drift mode is a hell of fun!
The story of engine failures is long past. Since Ford changed the Cylinder Head Gasket, no more failures were reported at all.
Everybody who wants a real FUN car should at least drive the RS once. But be careful, after a proper test drive you don't want to drive an y other car!
I live in the US. Got my special edition in 2018. Yes, it hurts the pocket book but I never looked back. Where I live we have a lot of twisty roads and the car just screams, play with me. For all of it's faults. I don't care. People ask me about MPG and I say it's SPM..Smiles Per Mile. That what counts !

How many of the Focus RS came to the UK? Did i hear you say 4000?
Doesnt have an LSD as standard tho, and launch control isnt controlled by the arm on the left as he says, but activated purely from the menu. Seems he read up on alot, but have not alot of clue to what he is driving

I heard this focus RS model engine has cooling problems which later warps engibe head and starts to leak cooling.

I have a notion that all these "reviews" are nothing more than youtube commercials for the car. Very, very bias reviews. Not only this one, but most of the Focus RS reviews available on youtube. Perhaps this is related to the ludacris gifts and travels Ford gave to the journalists?
Have this in mind, not only in Focus RS videos but any car videos. There are only a handful of honest reviewers out there, the rest are disgusting sales reps for car manufacturers.
As for this car - I will probably never buy it. It has 2.3 L engine that is not built to last, so buying without warranty is a hazard. Check out Nishans video where he discuses the engine build - it seems the block walls around the 3rd cylinder are too thin to handle the heat generated. Apart from that there was the infamous head gasket issue which caused a lot of engine failures (see Freezas video for reference, as well as several other youtubers - MarkCup70, TotalFocus). In addition to this, the suspension is said to be unnecessarily hard and is best exchanged to KW suspension. Aslo sitting position is terrible and some people have a lot of problem adjusting to it. The thing that bothers me most is the interior, not only quality but also the design - imho its terrible.
I would go for something else or wait for the next generation RS. Or if you can, lease these one, dont own it.

But Ford no longer make this car ,out of production within 2 years and a very chequered history of engine issues / recall and other faults. WTF have you reviewed this out of date bag of nails. Used car market?

get real. so if you dont like it, or more likely could not afford to buy one so jealous and envious. why bother watching this video?? All you have read is a few people that have had issues, same goes for any make of car. Mines been mint and fault free 22 months and 24000 miles thanks.
@@mainman2999 Certainly not envious,as I have two cars worth more that this and better imo Hope your 5Year warranty gives you plenty of reassurance , if you have purchased it.Is yours Pre or post July 2017?
