It's been developed like a proper performance car - and drives like one, ready to paint a smile upon your face corner after corner. This time round, a 1.5-litre three cylinder engine replaces the old 1.6-litre 'four', but power's up to 200PS as standard and we're told the handling's sharper too. Of course, for not much more than the affordable prices Ford asks, you can buy more power. But after a drive in one of these, you probably won't want to.

Thanks for the feedback 👍 We found the ST was returning a real-world 38mpg average (versus a claim of 57.4mpg), with high-forties to the gallon within easy reach during motorway and A-road cruising.

Please answer me two more questions: How many mpg does the ST do in city? Between an ST and a Cupra Ateca, which ones did you prefer for a daily use?
£24.5K for a Ford (Fix Or Repair Daily) Fiesta 🤣. For the same money I bought a BMW 330d Xdrive auto, M-Sport shadow edition on a 18 plate with 10K miles on the clock, 258bph without any extra mapping or performance enhancing packs (4 door). O -62 in 5.1 secs. Way way better interior, full leather, 19 inch M-sport rims with blue pads. Over 40mpg in eco mode. Looks much better and is a prestigious motor. Now let me see, 🤔, which is the better value for money.
@@HoLeeChit11 the ST starts at 19k and you're comparing it to a used car. A 10000 mile ST will cost as little as 15k so that is the better value option

I got the US Version 5 door hatch when they first came out in 2014, I love this car, it’s the most fun I’ve ever had driving, and I’m 71 years young, mines all tricked out with sticky Mitchlen tires, short shift kit, 3” exhaust with an intake, beefed up motor mounts and Visual modifications, It has 68,000 miles on it and still runs strong with no engine issues at all, I was looking forward to buying this new Version for sure, and Ford was going to sell it here in the US, but pulled the plug at the last minute, so we’re not getting it here, I’m so bummed out, I was really looking forward to getting a 3 door this time around. Everyone in the US wants crossovers or SUVs or pick ups it sucks. The Fiesta Flash.
Another Yank here with a '17 and a few mods (MP215, shift kit and RMM, and some other touches). I would have preferred a 3-door, but we didn't get those, and if they were selling this car here, I would have one! I just feel lucky we even got an ST version here. It's as fun as cars with twice the power. I'll never sell it! It combines the practicality of a hatchback with the fun of a sports car.

Best review out there for the Newest Fiesta ST !! Thank you very much Sir ! Did a test drive just yesterday and placed an order for the ST3 which is gonna be delivered mid April as they told me....i'm so excited to get behind the wheel of my new fiesta when the time comes. The total cost with basically every possible option and ST3 version that i was charged is 28.400€ - ish with all taxes included and everything. As i was informed ST1 is canceled by Ford (?) and ST2 now comes more loaded but more expensive.

3 days into ST3 with Performance Pack and LED headlights ownership...coming from previous ST3 with MP215 kit. All excellent so far, much more refined to previous and seems just as responsive. Driver aid pack came as standard. Have only driven in the dark and wet so far, but can feel the diff...pulls out of corners very well. Great review!

Went to my local Ford dealership after watching this video and took one for a test drive. What a car! My new ST3 in silver fox (great colour in the flesh) is arriving early December. I previously owned a mk7 ST2 with the MP215 Mountune upgrade, but the new one feels even better and dare I say it faster?

I believe a stock Mk8 is only slightly slower than a Stage 2 Mk7 at big speeds, below 90 there's nothing in it

The best and most detailed review I’ve seen on UA-cam. I first saw the ST at the Ford stand at this years Goodwood FoS and became interested then and now got a test drive planned soon.

Excellent review, where other reviews cram as much as they can into 5-10 mins I appreciate that you have gone into depth on many different things which is informing the viewer and possible customers on all the pros and cons. I’ve actually ordered mine and it’s being built right now should be finished next week. I’ll be getting it in March sometime when it’s delivered so can’t wait now

great indepth review from someone i can watch reviewing cars in future. Only gripe was mentioning how its a mk3 and talking about the mk2etc....it's a mk8 st and the previous was the mk7.

The previous model did NOT have a poor driving position. It was lauded and got the Top gear magazine car of the year in 2013 and surprisingly, the driving position has not changed or become worse.
This video was a Great review of the new model, well done and thanks, it was extremely comprehensive.
However trashing the previous model is rather stupid because it was, and still is a great car.

Great review. This is a ST2 with that terrible blue trim on the seats. Worth going for a 3 for that reason alone. I have this colour which I initially loved, with the ford salesman saying ‘ pts the correct and only colour for the car’. 1 year on I’m not sold, never liked those alloys either, even on 18’s. everything else has been a dream, best car I’ve ever owned.

Great vid so much detail one little thing you got wrong was in the video you showed the eco shift lights not the shift lights which is a yellow little st light which come on when you got the red line

Does st line 2019 not have a sensor on their door handle even though it has start stop button?
Performance wise how does this new ST compare with the previous ST200?
In Aussie, the only Fiesta sold here is the ST Version (manual). A female relative bought one last month. Wonder what she's on.

Too bad Ford isn't making cars in the US anymore. Guess all we get is the Mustang now, which honestly isn't much of a complaint for me but I do love my 16 Fiesta ST.

Does the limited slip differential benefit MPG and lower tyre wear?
Hi Paul, thanks for the comment. The LSD shouldn't change the MPG of the car and have a minimal effect to tyre wear.

I took delivery of a mk8 fiesta st in March... does anyone else find the seats uncomfortable more acutely the seat base .. the centre is really soft and you end up sitting on the bolsters and no I'm not fat (5'8" 12 stone)

Avec Ford ne comptez sur personne une fois que vous aurez tendu le chèque signé . Nous avons commandé une Vignale, et c'est la voiture de Kol ombo qu'on nous a livré, avec des freins qui grognent sans cesse, et sans solution Ford,et en plus les pneus sur gonflés et avec des alertes de pressions différentes sur un même train de pneus.

You can actually use pretty much All The Performance & you'll be shitting yourself with a massive Smile on your face :D

I wouldnt trust reliabilty with long term ownership. Also too commonplace. Although less power, the Suzuki Swift Sport is a much better choice. It has more character, you dont see many on the roads and its pulling power is impressive from low to mid range. Cheaper as well :)
Looks like a rehashed version of the old car the design looks very dated against the new Vauxhall Corsa ,Peugeot 208 and Citroen that are coming out later this year and no all electric model offered? shame on you Ford poor effort but they know people will buy it in droves because it’s a Ford
ATE Continental Freins à disque avants ATE Continental qui équipent la Fiesta nouvelle neuve actuelle:voyez ,où plutôt écouter ce qui se passe lorsqu'on freine,en terminaison de freinage,c'est assourdissant,à croire qu'il n'y a pas de garniture et que cela frotte plaquette sans garniture contre disque sonore(c'est tout le temps de l'année,depuis le premier jour d'achat). Après +20 000kms maintenant,les crissements de tôle en terminaison de freinage sont toujours làl .Mais ceci n'est pas sans conséquence pour Ford,car à cause de ces ATE Continental,autour de moi,plus personne ne veut prendre une Ford neuve.Qui voudrait avoir,à vie,une voiture qui fait un tel bruit?!

Shill, ugly looking plain car, also sounds like a toy. Common as muck, even ford told me not to buy it as they are getting nicked due to the keyless fob, they are being expecting loads of returns. No mention of this.
