I am using an M-Audio Firewire 410 and trying to record the sound of one of the TH-U presets (the Burnshphere Solo HB) in Slate Edition stand alone into an audio track in Ableton Live but as you show here when i play it back all i hear is my electric guitar sans any effects (as if TH-U was not being played through) and so as i hit record in Ableton i see the wave form from the audio being played back and think 'great its working!) but then when i go to play the track back to listen to it its just a clean signal which is what i DO NOT want, i want to be able to record the guitar as it sounds WITH the TH-U Burnshphere Solo HB preset applied , forgive my crude explanation i am just not really experienced in this and am granted using older hardware (i.e. the Firewire 410) and ive tried recording both with and without muting the direct monitoring but each time Ableton only records the clean signal from my guitar , so to be able to hear the effects from the TH-U do you think i need to run it as a VST inside of Ableton Live? any help is appreciated
Thanks for the video! Do you have any experience with guitar processors? If so, I wonder how does the latency difference in VST/standalone (say, with 64/32 buffer) feels compared to any regular processor while playing?
Our expertise is in software, however we'd encourage you to download the free 14 day trial of TH-U and run that experiment for yourself: www.ilio.com/dl-overloud-trial
Overloud's TH-U can be used stand-alone and can also be loaded as a plug-in effect in a DAW application like Reaper and any others. If you have any questions you can contact us at www.ilio.com/contact
Thanks dude, good clear job explaining.
Thanks for watching!
