- A special performance of "Scotland the Brave" by Scottish tribal pipes and drums group Clanadonia. This was part of their performances during the 2019 St Andrew's Day celebrations in Perth City centre, Scotland.
Clanadonia, led by Tu-Bardh Stormcrow Wilson, with their high energy blend of tribal rhythms, bagpipes and mayhem have thrilled audiences across the world and their music has featured in the TV series Outlander. I swear the bagpipe does something to the Scottish blood coursing through my veins. I feel it to my very core, but I can’t fully explain it.

My grandfather was Scotish & my grandmother on my mother's side was from Ireland. My father's side was Enlish & my dad was born in America. Both mom & dad are gone. I miss them dearly. But I learned ALOT from then.💖

It's amazing how the pipes and drums make the heart of a Scottish descendant who has never set foot on Scotland sing with joy.
There is certain music that just gets your blood pumping. This is one of them.
2500 bagpipe players were in the trenches with their men WWI and WWII.
The pipers played the clarion call to arms to the men of the British Expeditionary Forces and thus were usually the first ones “over the top.” They stood in full view of the German lines, playing their instrument, marching through “no-man’s land” without any sort of ammunition but their sound.
Did they get shot at?

Imagine hearing this coming from behind an army of angry Scots; pretty sure I'd be running away as fast as I possibly could.
We tended to expend energy needed for fighting on banging war drums and growling. Our English opponents were more savvy economic with it hence they routed us.

@@ginigang Nobody ever routed the Scots it is still Scotland the home of the Scots, they fought loads of battles lost some won most especially the important ones, the Romans couldn't do it neither could the Vikings or the English. The union of the crowns was formed to stop the fighting between Scotland and England. Which brought about the last battle fought on British soil the infamous battle of Bannockburn in which the newly formed British army which included three regiments Scots soldiers was used against the highland jacobites led by bonnie prince Charlie, who were classed as rebels by the newly formed British goverment.

Most of us Yanks as we are called here in the U.S.A. can trace our ancestors back to Ireland and Scotland. I am one of those Yanks and proud of my ancestors and my heritage. There has always been a close bond between the U.S. and the UK which I believe will always be there.

I’m here from Kansas United States of America’s, I love the sound of the pipes and drums. Nine years ago I got to visit Scotland and we attended the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, it was so wonderful. Thanks for an inspiring performance. I can’t help but think that the sound of a Scottish army approaching an enemy with that sound has to intimidate the enemy.
