I'm using mine on a steel rack I made for the slide in towbar. I've had a rotator cuff repair and my lifting the bike up onto the roof days are over and I do love the Thule Upride. I plan to buy an mountain ebike and the upride will be perfect to use behind the car.
What's the Grey twist style lever for on the very front of rack? The instructions weren't so clear, and it doesn't seem to function anything when I try it. Thanks!
Just bought this rack. In theory it makes sense, but the rear silver bars just plop down leaving the bike unsecured. The 29" tire seems too big for the rear silver bar to fully extend, so you cannot ratchet it tighter.
This carrier is designed for car with the steering wheel on the left hand side which makes safe to upload and unload the bike by always being to the opposite side of the road... How does the rack mount onto cars with steering wheel on the right hand side. Thanks in advance for your answer. Sydney, Australia 👍🏻
Ready through the comments ive been put off this now, if u have a slow puncture on way home then the wheel will lower and the bike will potentially fall off, has anyone any xperience with a thule topride (fork mounted) rack, im thinking of getting that instead, anyone any experience with a topride?
Since no one answered, if you're referring to the lock in the end, from my research, all come with that. It doesn't "lock" in there, it just holds it in. To actually lock it, you would need the Thule lock core.

Its a good thing that bicycle tires never leak.

I saw a couple of videos, showing some issues with this rack. What can Thule say about ?

You can switch it.
There is a locking mechanism on the underside of the rack where you can switch the directions of the clamps.
Perfect Fat-bike holder! 😎👍

does it come with the locks or you have to buy separately?

@@xSLWRTHNUx thank you. I actually purchased this, but it didn’t work for my car, so had to return it.
@@Bonje777 dang. I'm looking to purchase this. I guess I should make sure there is a good return policy first.
@@xSLWRTHNUx not sure where you live, but REI has a good return policy. If it doesn’t work for you, you can take it back.
LOL you could cut that lock cable with a Leatherman.
All it's meant to do is keep people from just grabbing your bike at an intersection, genius
@@tylercandler4627 who the hell has their bike stolen at an intersection vs when it's unattended in a parking lot??
@@red6743 I have a bunch of friends who have had their bikes stolen at stoplights. Both roof and hitch racks
Don't buy it, I just used today and it's garbage
