No problem at all and thank you for watching and asking questions. Definitely suggest them, I'm pretty happy. Answers 1. On bumpy roads they are slightly squeaky but the bike is planted. 2. At highway speeds (110 km/h) they have been just fine for me, longest highway trip though was 2 hours.
That back wheel ratchet strap is supposed to be pulling in opposition to the front of the bike. That way it's helping to keep that front ratcheting wheel clamp from coming loose. That would solve your problem of the ratchet in the back being right over the bar as well.
@@lostinacrowd I'm with ya on that and it would for sure be ideal but I can't move the ratchet system they are "locked" on where they are so it can only rotate 180° I may move to the lack of accessibility side though but for what it's worth I drove a lovely 3200 km across Canada with them set up this way and they're holding on just fine for me 🤞🏻
Quick questions: Do you find the bikes sway much? Especially the mountain bike? Are you comfortable going highway speed for long distances with this bike carrier? Thanks!
Hey Randy, the bikes are quite squeaky when taking turns in a parking lot but at regular road travel they don't sway unless you're really turning hard. As for highway travel they have be fabulous for me. Longest trip to date going 80 km/h and over was 2 hours.
I like this rack and have owned it around 6 months . However, it failed me 3 times recently (bike fell to one side, only the rear strap kept it from falling to street) while driving. Can you explain what may have gone wrong. All I can say is if you don't hear the "click" when raising bar 2 around front wheel is THAT MEANS THE BIKE IS NOT SECURE. This is the common thread fror each time mike bike flipped sideways on the rack causing mostly damage to my car roof. VERY SCARY WHILE DRIVING
Hey there, sorry you're experiencing this. I'm sure you know but set the front to appropriate wheel size, once this is done and is ready to be loaded set bike into place and the ratchet bar clicks in place. Slide the ratchet bar down until resting on the tire then use the grey ratchet for a few more clicks to ensure the front wheel is well secure. The rear wheel now needs to be fastened by the rear ratchet. I may just have to make a short for this to go over proper placement. Hope this helps and if not, let me know.
In this case maybe the Thule top ride fork mount may be a more secure option? I was debating for a while between both but just got the top ride and I have a tall SUV so I'm hoping it will also be easier to load.
The second time I used this to transport my bike it fell over thankfully towards the middle of the roof so it wasn't over the the side of the car. I guess maybe I didn't have the front wheel guide locked in to the correct size but it was kind of scary. This has me worried about transporting it on the highway at high speeds. I've used tailgate Thule bike carriers systems for years without any difficulties as that secure AF!

It should, my Commencal is a 128.5 cm which is right at the end of the track. The specifications suggest it will hold right up to 130 cm though so it should be right on.

I hear ya Aaron it's really a matter of accessibility to the ratchet that would be compromised though if it were flipped around.
@@TheRouge I think you'd flip it twice. Like other side and reverse. I've seen it on other reviews pulling the wheel away from the front.

How’d you get it to fit on the right side of the car and make the bike face forward
The mounting triangle you can flip around and the back piece just slides off and can rotate. Full how to video coming soon. Thanks for asking!

Can I put a 20inch BMX on it? Cause I have an Enduro bike and a BMX and I need a roofmount that works for both
They are rated for 20 inch wheels as well but I haven't tried one personally as of yet.

Hey Jorge, thanks for watching and asking away. As far as weight no, they are rated for up to 20 kg. Tire size no problem at all but weight not quite.
If u remove the battery Pack. Ist about 20kg. Battery Packs weight ist about 3kg

Whatever works best for you. I've had these working for me for well over 5000 km all in all and they're still "new"
