Hello, top review !
Thanks! Subscribed after watching this. A lot of us like to fly really slow - without the tripod mode of other drones this is going to be tough. Unloading that ssd is such a bummer. Weird they didn’t give some other powering option. How did you expose the dlog without zebras or waveforms? It has a histogram but that’s not really the right tool.
hey ! Thanks happy you liked the review. Regarding the exposure, I don't really use any tools I do it with experience. The only one I kinda look at from times to times is the histogram and it works very good for me.
Loved the detail in your presentation, however I watch a lot of videos and no one is talking about how to use the controllers or the difference between the two. Everyone wanted variable F stop, yet no one is talking about using it or how to use it yet. You provided the most "meat" so far, but still more needs to be presented for people to make decisions about which version to buy.
Hey Zimy - I really enjoy your work with the DJI drones. I think I bought my Air2s after seeing what you were doing with it. Curious about two things. You say that all the footage you ended up using in the review was ProRes. Is there a reason for this? I'm hearing a number of reviewers say they can't see a difference between the PR and the SD codecs, even while grading. The few actual sample PR clips I've handled look noticeably better, vs the DJI codecs which have all the tell tale signs of high levels of compression. What's you're take on this. Is there a noticeable difference with the PR? Also when comparing the SD codecs and general image quality to the Air2s (no ProRes --apples to apples). Do you really see a substantial difference in the image between the two drones?
So I only used ProRes because I had both so I'd rather use the best one. I think it offers u definitely more possibilities in the color grading process. Regarding the quality between the Mavic 3 and the Air2s I think the Mavic 3 image is better indeed. Hard to exactly say what but it look nicer, more dynamic range etc. However the Air2S still offers amazing image quality and I'll definitely keep using this drone for extreme adventures that requires the lightest backpack possible.
You can find the low light test of the Mavic 3 in this one and then on my channel you can find my full review of the Air2S which includes the low light test of the Air2s and then you can compare the images.
I am new to drones. I would like to buy a good one and not need to upgrade any time soon. How good is the automatic feature in the drone without color grading?
Zimy, really great job you made. just two Q´s: - do you think you would use the zoom footage in your videos (quality) - you said that the zoom photos will be available in raws? Thx a lot
Hi ! Thanks for your questions, so I'll definitely use the zoom footage if it gets better and not stuck in everything auto. Regarding photos in raw that's the infos I got from inside DJI but nothing certain for now.
Hello, very good job, I will use a translator, I would like to know for those of us who are starting in this world of color editing if to use LUTS in dcinelike or dlog in Davinci, we would have to do a color correction before using them? Did you use luts? If so, do you sell them? Greetings from Colombia!!!
What do you mean by quality exactly? In terms of pure quality like sharpness etc I'd say it's similar but ProRes gives you more possibilities in the color grading process
@@ZimyDaKid yea exactly what I mean! Haha I’ve been comparing prores on the iPhone and the clarity and colors are much better, was wondering if it translated with the mavic. Seems like colors would merge more in h265 vs prores. So tempted getting the cine. And those fpv sticks on the remote sounds like you get more accuracy
have you noticed any aliasing in the lower resolution shooting modes? I'm really curious as to how useable the 1080p high fps mode fairs. on Mavic 2 pro the lower resolutions suffer a lot I find.
DJI told you that they are adding support for RAW in zoom lens with firmware update? I checked with them and they said there are no such plans. Can you elaborate on the source?
So i mentioned “normally” they are going to add it which means it’s not 100% sure. My infos comes from inside the DJI and the guys that hired me for the launch.
@@ZimyDaKid so did you just casually said it or did you get that information from someone inside DJI? That might be more reliable than the customer support I talked to
@@jonatious As mentionned in my last message: I got the info from someone inside DJI but even him wasnt 100% sure this why I mentionned "normally" in my review.
what Bullshit though. Release a $5k drone and say "in future firmware will be able to shoot raw photos, and in video control the camera manually"...WTF DJI. Do your job and release the drone ready to use, with what prosumers want. Solid video! Great clips. Disappointed DJI.
Very nice review, but…… how can you post a review of the Cine model and not mention DJI's Toys "R" Us FLY app? For a $5,000 Cine drone, it would be fair to mention the lack of the most basic things: 1) manually set low battery warning level 2) set number of days until battery discharge 3)deactivate Obstacle Avoidance (for hand catching, fx. on a boat) 4) ability to use 5D knob to adjust Aperture, Shutter, EV etc. 5) Ability to adjust horisontal/vertical speed in Cine mode 6) Add Color Display mode when recording in Dlog (so the client don't have to look at a log image) 7) Ability to use continuous file names The Mavic 2 does almost of the above. But the $5,000 Mavic 3 Cine does not - and you don't even mention the use of this mind boggling terrible app? I just find it weird you don't even mention these things at all.
Well I don't mention these things at all because I absolutely don't care about these when I use my drone. To me, the important part is image quality and post production capabilities of the drone so when it comes to these details I absolutely don't care. Therefore, I focused on what I personally think is important which is creating the best images possible.
Why are no reviews being honest about how the DJI fly app and the default controller are basically taking major steps back from the Mavic 2 controller and DJI go 4 app? Thats my main issue, we lose all sorts of features and ability to customize flight in comparison to the mavic 2 pro. The controller is terrible compared to the mavic 2 pro, even terrible compared to the mavic pro
Hi ! Thanks for your message. I kinda talked quite a bit about the Air2S in this video, the similarities and the differencies and gave my personal opinion at the end regarding these two. I don't think I'll do a full comparison breakdown with side by side shots and stuff like this tho. You can check my Air2S review on my youtube channel which will give you a very good idea for you to have your own point of comparison between these two drones.

Thanks for the review. Doesn’t the f11-f2.8 aperture in the M3 gives it a step up vs. the MA2s fixed f2.8 in the world of photography? Thanks.
Yes it's definitely much easier to fly with this. The Air2s is fine you just have to be a lot more precise with the NDs and change more often

saying prores is the same as R3D raw is a little bit hyperbolic, but it's nice. That being said, the H.265 is 99% as gradable as the prores tbh
I didn't say it's the same. I said I've been able to color grade just as good and have been able to do everything I want in terms of color grading.
