Bit of an odd question, but would you imagine that this same technique would be able to be used to cover a roof lining? The fabric of my roof lining is sagging and pulling away from the roof mould, and I thought maybe flocking it would be a more permanent alternative to having the fabric reapplied
That looks pretty flocking good bud, impressed with the stamina too, were you practicing with a shake weight. On a more serious note the car sounds amazing
Oh the one liners in this video. It forces the Dad Jokes outta me. Something could be said about that "Flocking Motion" around the 1 minute mark. LOL but great vid overall.
I noticed you're also in Australia, did you order this kit from Flock Industries? They've got a few different size kits, how much flock did you require?
Hi great video, i ordered the flocking material but the glue was not allowed to be shipped overseas, can you tell me what glue you used for the dash? i am trying to find it in the UAE
Feels like the stuff inside some glove boxes, it has a weird synthetic feel to it. I personally wouldn't use it on a dash because it doesn't wear well but looks great when its fresh.
I have a flocked dashboard but the clever guy who done it before decided to use Grey Flock which doesn't match the car ... Is my dash salvageable is there a paint that can be applied on it now
I'm wondering can you flock rubber door seals. My 5 series has felt lined door seals from the factory, but my Alfa 156 doesn't. I wonder can I flockorize them.
How has it aged over the years? Been thinking of doing the dash in my VE SS but honestly dont want it wearing out quick and looking like shit. Could probably spray a layer of matte clear coat to help preserve and keep it intact. Looks good by the way!
For some reason I thought flocking used a system to charge the particles so the stood up when they hit the surface you are flocking. I think Maybe it was Edd China that did it that way
sinformant yeah there's a few ways to static charge the project so they stand on end, but its good to see how the finish is without the charge, as the companies make out like its a total bust without charging it...
well it actually is a bust like you see here in the video if the particles dont stand up so to speak they dont swallow the light . you see how its all shiny and reflecting the sun thats why you need a negative charge .
Thanks for posting this vid, reminded me I wanted to do this to my dash since it's cracked. Well, more for an interior color change. The all-gray interiors of older imports are just meh. Another awesome resto-mod for me!
Afaik, the two common materials are rayon and nylon. Rayon being more for things like the inside of the jewelry box and the latter being fairly durable. Supposedly, the nylon fibers are fade and weather resistant, hey hey!
I think it's not impossible to shaking tissues ( such as salt shaker ) over the surface and then ... " flocking " as you know the tissue must ionized with electricity
Is there a noticeable difference in finish between using this DIY pump and a professional powdercoat-like approach with electrostatic charge? The common opinion is that the DIY kit is only good for small parts. I wonder if it's because electrostatic makes it easier and less messy or it actually changes the structure.
That's the straightest face I've seen demonstrate how the tube works.
True but at 2:16 that was his “o” face.
Flocking yourself is a great way to save money instead of going out and having others flock you.
lmao
What the flock?
That flocking technique shows he’s been flocking for a while. An expert flocker if ever I saw one.
0:57
me: wow i might be really good at this
Wait... how do you applying the flock one more time? Just a little more... almost there.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Instructions unclear, turned myself into waka flocka flame
THAT LOOKS FLOCKING GREAT.😬
That shit must me awesome for your lungs

I’d definitely recommend replacing the fabric if done properly it will last ages, flocking really works best on hard plastics.
0:57 All guys know how to do this motion naturally! LOLX...
That looks pretty flocking good bud, impressed with the stamina too, were you practicing with a shake weight. On a more serious note the car sounds amazing
😂😂👍 My thoughts exactly
Does this work on cracked dash? And how is the feeling? Rough or suede feeling?
I can not find anywhere in the UK that sells this flocking kit
Did you use some australium to achieve that paint?
ian I tried just pouring beer all over the dash then flocking, but got punched in the balls by a kangaroo. He was angry that I was wasting beer
Where can I see more of that Impreza?
Oh the one liners in this video. It forces the Dad Jokes outta me. Something could be said about that "Flocking Motion" around the 1 minute mark. LOL but great vid overall.

Could I get away with the 3 oz. bag or should I get the 1 lbs bag?
No one ever tells what the texture feels like to the touch. Is it suede like? Or hard like rhino lining
that feels like shit...its shit... terrible interior idea...
Feels like the stuff inside some glove boxes, it has a weird synthetic feel to it. I personally wouldn't use it on a dash because it doesn't wear well but looks great when its fresh.
What about dust?
Angel doesn't care. It's like they think normal people are doing this to normal dars for some kind of upgrade.. idiot...
so how does this stuff last ? does it resist heat ? is it easy to clean without damaging it ?
how many flock kits for 1 dashboard?
Can anyone tell me where to purchase the flocking materials?
I have a flocked dashboard but the clever guy who done it before decided to use Grey Flock which doesn't match the car ... Is my dash salvageable is there a paint that can be applied on it now
So flocking is like adding suede? But better?
So how do you clean dirt and dust off this? I'm sure my armor all wipes won't be good for this.
Would IT be possible to use sanding pistol instead of this pringels box?
I'm wondering can you flock rubber door seals. My 5 series has felt lined door seals from the factory, but my Alfa 156 doesn't. I wonder can I flockorize them.
Great video , how did you find it lasts , does it stay on or if you touch it does it leave a residue
Could I use a non colored adhesive or if I use black flock I have to use a black adhesive?
is flocking your dash better that doing a traditional suede one?
How does it go Not Fading in the sun and would you recommend it I want to do in my Commodore to my dash but wasn't sure and where do you buy it from
How has it aged over the years?
Been thinking of doing the dash in my VE SS but honestly dont want it wearing out quick and looking like shit.
Could probably spray a layer of matte clear coat to help preserve and keep it intact.
Looks good by the way!
Pretty nice. Where to buy that yellow item for flokcking?

sinformant ur thinkn of electro plating
How does this hold up? Is it easy to scratch or mark?
What adhesive you use?
Thanks for posting this vid, reminded me I wanted to do this to my dash since it's cracked. Well, more for an interior color change. The all-gray interiors of older imports are just meh. Another awesome resto-mod for me!
so how would you go about flocking side panel for doors?
Hey what's the glue you use?
how durable is it? whats the lifespan if properly applied?
Rintaro88 it should last for ever. It can be vacuumed. So it must be pretty durable.
cheers mate

5 days in az heat melts it all

I think it's not impossible to shaking tissues ( such as salt shaker ) over the surface and then ... " flocking "

Electrostatic stand the fiber up on end, which generally creates a more even satin finish.
A hell of a difference when do right. This is just a bodge job
Does this negatively affect air bag deployment from the dash?
who needs airbags
Walking has paid off big time for this job
I haven't tried the pump version, looks easy enough! I did a video using the electro static applicator
I might have missed it....how mant h.p. does this add?
15 virtual horsepower. The same as a new shift knob.
35 if it's red
Can you show me again how that tube works, only shirtless this time 😉
great flocking job mate
Could I do it with the dash in the car ? And just mask off stuff
I know its been a while but that sounds like a terrible idea
11747 edam Haha I now would agree, I ended up just buying a dash mat
Where can I buy the material and tools?
Cameron Lopez most craft stores should have it.
Might be late but if you’re in the US
flockit.com
Hi, is it possible to use this on door trims?
Dash material is usually the same as the door panels
0:57 I buy you that mighty hand
how do you repair small flocking defects ? sanding and apply new glue and blend new flock in??
David Lee ,I wanted to know what this would turn out to be ..
How's the cleaning process on the dashboard, to maintain it looking good?
greencivicej1 vacuum cleaner will do the trick
This man has very fuzzy lungs after this.
That's awesome, it looks like velvet
What a flocking great video
will this give velvet-like texture to the dashboard?
David Soetjipto sure will
customspraymods thanks a lot for the reply. Now I really want to do this mod on my dashboard.

Nice video mate
Wear a mask. Please be safe
What the flock?
I'd be concerned about this hindering the deployment of the passenger airbag
What the flock? Thats flocking amazing.
