Thanks for sharing your experience. I don't know much about sound either but trying to learn. Years ago i bought a few mikes for AV work - probably none great. I never got to treat my indoor surfaces, although recently bought a couple of producer sound blankets based on 'theory'. Have yet to test properly indoors. On mikes, after lots of reading I splurged on a Sennheiser MKH 416. It sounds great outdoors with a Rycote mount and fur cover. It sounded pretty good too in my lounge indoors, but I'm wary about indoor use based on a variety of YT vids rather than direct experience. I know I still have a lot to learn and in particular need to do a lot more practice and testing to consolidate my reasonable grasp of theory and turn it into practical skill aka experience. Ideally I'd like to get a quality indoor hyper cardioid for static booming. Octavia comes highly recommended for price, but if I can run to it then a compact Sennheiser MKH 8050 would be on my list of 'interesting - if you can afford it' mikes.
Love the oktava 012 hypercard mic! Make sure you get the wind cover somewhere. I have both the tip and the long full body wind cover. The long cover is better for plosives. Hope this helps someone. (Yes I boom it indoors for lecture recording). Works well with the EVO4.
@@matheussp13 I actually record with the gain set to 6 and I make sure to move the mic as close as possible just out of frame. Maybe a thumb and pinky's length. That's something I probably should have mentioned in the video.

Yeah the Sennheiser MKH 416 is killer (at least from what I've seen). I hope to one day get my hands on one of them to try it out.

Nice video, very informative. What type of recorder you're using ? It has good preamps
Thank you for the kind words Matheus! I use the Zoom H5.
@@PaulinoAuyon that's good to know. I have a zoom h5 as well. I wonder if it gets too noisy at gain 6 or more. Would you mind trying?

@@PaulinoAuyon no worries, now they will know reading your comment. Thx for the answer btw
