    So what do you think of my list? Do you agree or do you think I'm insane? lol
    I want everybody to understand that I had to come up with 15 dishes from a list of about 80. This was very difficult to do

    I find it funny that your description said it is not in ranking order. Then I see your favorites *ahem* sisig and ube *ahem* towards the end before the honorable mentions lol. I was surprised though that you didn’t have dinuguan because I thought it has become one of your favourites lol. This is a good list for foreigners who only knows adobo, pancit, and lumpia is the extent of Filipino food.

    • @PureDetour
      @PureDetour  9 місяців тому +5

      Nice catch there, Mhike. But I also said at the beginning of the video that I left some exotic dishes off the list for another video. This list was geared more towards visitors to the Philippines and I don't think there will be a lot of foreigners willing to try Dinuguan.
      As to the rankings, it really wasn't. While I do love both ube and sisig as you mentioned, if I am being 100% honest with you, from this list Humba is probably my favourite.

    Some foreigners would say that these dishes are not that healthy because they are high in cholesterol, et cetera. But Filipinos don't eat all these dishes everyday. A lot are made on special occasions but they are readily available should you have those occasional cravings. But be as it may, should we overload ourselves with these delicious dishes and suddenly die, a lot of Filipinos would probably say, "At least when we die, we die with a beautiful smile on our faces." Oh, so good! lol

Quite surprised tho that u didn’t include PANCIT as u can almost see this everywhere ( maybe ur not a noodle fan FAIR ENOUGH🥴) and SINIGANG ( u did mention sinigang subcategorically🫢)! Just for curiousity n me being from Batangas, have u heard or try BULANGLANG it’s just a simple but very fresh tasting veg stew really that accompany almost any meal. Nice vlog there very well described👍more power on ur channel💪!

      Unfortunately no. If I am being honest, of the 80 or so I had to choose from adobo was way down that list. While it's fine and I enjoy a good adobo, I think there are so many other Filipino dishes that are outstanding that they make adobo seem kind of ordinary.

      It was time to move on, Jessica. I normally only stay in any given country for 3 months tops. I stayed an entire year in the Philippines. Off to the next country. I hope you follow along for adventures from another country in SE Asia😁

      DIdn't forget them my friend. Chicharron Bulaklak will make iti into another video. As to Palabok, this list was whittled down form about 80 for the sake of time. While I love palabok, I personally liked these more
