On point sir!. You got all my favorites on your List! Thank you for promoting our food to the world.. if you happen to go back to Bacolod?. Try the Ensaladang langka.. thats one of my fave side dish.. im from Negros Occ. too. Sagay City to be exact. Stay safe always and may god guide and lead your way sir!.
Very informative, accurate and convincing! Make us proud that you appreciate and like Filipino food. Hope more tourists or foreigners would try our local food when they visit the Philippines.
your description are on point! any foreigner who doesn't have an idea of the Filipino cuisine will instantly have the ability to decide which kinds of food they might wanna try when they travel here. they're very brief and concise...vwey informative! kudos to a well put together video! thank you for showcasing Filipino food. you have represented it well to the world. good luck in your travels and always stay safe! ❤❤❤
Good luck on your travels! We are retiring to Bacolod in three years and have really enjoyed your reviews and the pleasure you get while trying new dishes. Cheers from Washington D.C
Awesome! Thank you! Hopefully you get to meet Martin when you move there. Genuinely one of the nicest people you will ever meet and he is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the Bacolod food scene
I find it funny that your description said it is not in ranking order. Then I see your favorites *ahem* sisig and ube *ahem* towards the end before the honorable mentions lol. I was surprised though that you didn’t have dinuguan because I thought it has become one of your favourites lol. This is a good list for foreigners who only knows adobo, pancit, and lumpia is the extent of Filipino food.
Nice catch there, Mhike. But I also said at the beginning of the video that I left some exotic dishes off the list for another video. This list was geared more towards visitors to the Philippines and I don't think there will be a lot of foreigners willing to try Dinuguan. As to the rankings, it really wasn't. While I do love both ube and sisig as you mentioned, if I am being 100% honest with you, from this list Humba is probably my favourite.
Oh my....I was drooling 😂. I, too, love my own ha ha! So nice of you to cherish our dishes! You should also try our "pancit" dishes and "sopas". They are good ones also 😊❤🎉
Some foreigners would say that these dishes are not that healthy because they are high in cholesterol, et cetera. But Filipinos don't eat all these dishes everyday. A lot are made on special occasions but they are readily available should you have those occasional cravings. But be as it may, should we overload ourselves with these delicious dishes and suddenly die, a lot of Filipinos would probably say, "At least when we die, we die with a beautiful smile on our faces." Oh, so good! lol
My mouth is watering from all the yummy dishes that you have featured in this video! Cannot pick just one of course! Laing and Pork BBQ are the dishes I always crave when I miss PI. Thank you for highlighting the Filipino Cuisine❤❤❤
You and I are on the same page again Sadohr.😂 My favourite did not appear in this list because I am saving it for an "exotic foods of the Philippines" video but I love all of these
Great list. One you mentioned but not oon the list is Sinigang my favorite. I will also add pinapaitan, lapaz batchoy, palabok, bibingka, sinaing, fresh lumpia, taho, and tortang talong. These are my favorites that are bot on your list
This list was very hard to narrow down. I had to choose from about 80 and I also geared this more towards people visiting the Philippines as opposed to locals or residents. Papaitan will appear in another video because I don't think most "visitors" would even be willing to try it
Wishing you the best of everything wherever you are. Thank you for showcasing our humble country to the world through your food selections. You're always a part of our daily lives with your vlogs. If we miss you, I'll just open UA-cam and browse your vlogs. Wherever you are, filipinos will always remember you, Thank you. All the best. 😢
Sinuglaw, paklay, calamares, dinuguan, bihon, sweet&sour, pochero, chicharon bulaklak, imbutido, dynamite, paksiw, fish/chicken tinola, beef steak, afritada. Some of these are popular in Visayas Region.
Chicharron Bulaklak and Dinuguan make another list that will be out next week. I had to whittle this list down from about 80 choices. It was very difficult to do and also why added 5 honourable mentions
On point sir!. You got all my favorites on your List! Thank you for promoting our food to the world.. if you happen to go back to Bacolod?. New sub here! Great delectable food selection there almost made me drool🤮😜! Quite surprised tho that u didn’t include PANCIT as u can almost see this everywhere ( maybe ur not a noodle fan FAIR ENOUGH🥴) and SINIGANG ( u did mention sinigang subcategorically🫢)! Just for curiousity n me being from Batangas, have u heard or try BULANGLANG it’s just a simple but very fresh tasting veg stew really that accompany almost any meal. Nice vlog there very well described👍more power on ur channel💪!
I love pancit but this list had to be whittled down from about 80 choices. This was what I came up with and I would imagine 80 different people could do this same list and all have different choices. I never tried Bulanglang during my year there. You have now given me something to look forward to when I return. 😁
First off, Thank you for visiting our humble country, the very much underrated Philippines! We appreciate you being here Geoff! I was waiting for this final episode on your food tour here in the Ph. You have done such an amazing job showcasing our filipino heritage through our cuisines. I hope you will find your way back to the Philippines somehow and visit us in the North. Although we may not have much to shell out as much as the South has, but It would be an honor just to have you with us, The New Age Anthony Bourdain. You are one helluva foodie my friend, you had me watching a marathon at 2 in the morning. lol.. Holler at me when you get back, ok? Now you go explore the world my friend.. Don't let the door hit you hahaha , now get the heck outta here... and "SHUT THE FRONT DOOR"!!! :)
😂 You are F'ing awesome my friend! I have one guaranteed video left (already edited and uploaded) and another that I might try and salvage still coming from the Philippines before Vietnam content starts. WHEN i make it back the the Philippines, the North and Bicol are on the agenda. I hope to see you stick around for my other food adventures. ❤
@@PureDetour We are waiting for your new vids from Vietnam Geoff.. Dont forget to use the phrase from General Douglas McArthur, "I shall return" in one of those last PH videos. hahaHave Fun and be safe! See yah!
Great list! Yep get your fill of pork and non-fish seafood here before you move on to places that consider those haram. Still lots of cover here like road trips to various regions if you find yourself here again someday
one thing that filipino meals tend to have is that they are absolutely easy to make, altho some is harder to prepare, but the ingredients is almost available anywhere. you have the trinity of ginisa: Ginger, Garlic, Onion trinity of panlasa: Soy sauce, vinegar, patis trinity of pampasarap: asin, paminta, MSG

Thank you my friend. The Philippines has become one of my favourite countries in the world, I will definitely be back. And I hope you follow along for food adventures from another country in SE Asia😁
In this case, no. Mainly because I ate everyone of these items numerous times and it is way too hard to say which is the best one. And honestly the vast majority of the dishes on here can be found throughout every province of the Philippines at numerous locations.
Good question my friend. There will be another video next week about "bizzare Filipino food". And consider that I tailored this list for people visiting the Philippines not necessarily people that are from or live there. Most "foriegners" would freak out over dinuguan.
You should have tried "pinangat" it is made from taro leaves and coconut milk and chili. For me that's my most delicious cooked vegetable in the world. Yes in the world. Better than laing. Laing is more the lazy version of pinangat.

Unfortunately no. If I am being honest, of the 80 or so I had to choose from adobo was way down that list. While it's fine and I enjoy a good adobo, I think there are so many other Filipino dishes that are outstanding that they make adobo seem kind of ordinary.
