    I sobbed throughout the whole second half of the book. I fell in love with Bella’s character and Aaron. Oh gosh Aaron such a cute character. Jill was also an interesting character

    I avoided this book because I thought it was more of a traditional romance type of story. But you've absolutely sparked my interest! Also, love your hair wavy like that!

      Hope you enjoy it! It surprised me with its depth. The description makes it sound like a general womens fiction. And thank you re my hair! I am trying this no heat method with a robe tie of all things XD

    I read this book in one day in the same sitting. It was a page turner for me but the ending left me with so many mixed emotions!! I think I kept reading because I wanted an extravagant romantic ending after all the heartbreak. And I just wanted to know the ending. Can’t say I’m happy with the ending. But def a book I absolutely recommend for a book club

      It always has mixed reactions! That's why it would be so great for discussion though!!! :) Glad you had a fun day of reading though. It's always nice when you can have a good one-day binge read :)

    SPOILERS! I REPEAT. SPOILERS!!!
    Im sorry if this sounds insensitive but I’m so tired of the terminal illness/cancer trope. This book had such a strong premise and I went in with such high expectations and the second it was revealed that bella was sick I knew how it was going to end. As emotional as it was and as much as I loved reading about Bella and Dannie’s friendship I wish it dove deeper. I was hoping Dannie would end up in a position where she had to finally make a choice about what it is that she wants, have some character development where she begins to discover who she is and what she wants to prioritize in life, etc. a true midlife crisis story line that lets us navigate her options with her and see where her choices take her. Instead the fiancé she keeps avoiding marriage with ends up making the choice for her and breaking off the wedding, the best friend who is with the guy she saw herself sleeping with in her time traveling dream DIES and to top it all off she doesn’t even have to decorate her own apartment. It just missed the mark for me. It was entertaining and a good read overall, I’m not mad I read it, I just really wish the author made different choices because the waking up in the future scheme truly is really intriguing!

    I was crying by the end. It took me a while to get into but I’m glad I finally did. The second half I couldn’t stop reading.

    I read this book thinking that it would have some sort of interesting way to impart known wisdoms (i.e., live in the present, something to do with accepting life etc.) Upon reading and now finishing this book, I don't feel that it had any 'lessons.' When I came to this understanding while reading the book, I tried to enjoy it for what it was developing into, a story, without the aforementioned bias. I ended up not particularly liking the book; a few reasons- The concept of 'love' and 'in love' were explored superficially/without any depth. There was a strong push towards what is 'trending and hip' (insert obligatory homosexual relationships whose characters have no point in the book, insert stereotyped arty character who is whimsical and often 'in love,' often 'heart broken' yet has the defining insight into another characters relationship). I didn't feel like there was a particularly strong relationship between Aaron and Bella (unlike how it was trying to be portrayed), or 'why' Aaron was 'in love' with her. I also didn't feel the actions of Aaron and Dannie with each other were particularly consistent with being 'in love' or 'best friends' with Bella respectively, or ever part of a 'grieving process'

      [spoiler alert] 🚨
      I totally agree with your comment, I couldn’t feel any connection with any of the characters although she tried to give so many details about their lives but there was no depth to it. Also I hated Bella and Aaron’s relationship because I kept reading to reach to the point where I can see their relationship as a good one or a good match but couldn’t. And I really couldn’t understand Dannie and how she was devastated about her best friends’ death and a few days later she sleeps with her best friends’ fiancé. I couldn’t understand that part and it made me angry 😂

      These comments are EXACTLY why I think this is a good book club pick. Like it or not, everyone will have an opinion. I also HATED the skeeviness of the sleeping together thing. But other people I talked to LOVED it lol i think it says a lot about individual worldviews and makes it fun to discuss. Same with her new one out in March

    I honesty thought this book was so boring and predictable! Every time I picked it up I actually didn’t want to continue but was too lazy to find a new book. SUPER easy reading, didn’t find it eloquent at all, was basic basic basic so I’m genuinely surprised people are raving about it as much as they are! What did I miss?!

      Same with me, Dannie stressed me so much and also Bella, but then from like page 200- i started to like the book a lot better as Dannie started changing and seeing that not anything has to be planned

    I'll have to let my wife know about this one for her mom book club. It does sound perfect for her. I feel if I read it from the guys perspective I'd be like "why don't you just stay with the guy you are engaged too ?" Haha great review

    • @outofthebex
      @outofthebex  4 роки тому +1

      THAT'S WHAT I SAID!!!! hahahahahah!!!! XD I was like really, you're gonna let ALL that go??? haha! But, I believe more in choice and hard work and dedication in romantic love rather than the idea of "the one" ...that's exactly why it would be such a great book club pick though. People have different ideas about that. The people I talked to on IG felt the opposite way. Either way, it does make you think. A nice group of gals could have a lot of fun dissecting that together in a book club :) I hope your wife enjoys it if they ever decide to give it a go!

    Found it difficult to get through the first half of this book. It seemed boring until I got to the second half then it got better. The ending was unexpected. It isn't a typical love story for real.
