I recently watched a group of women who had abortions. They were speaking with doctors who had performed abortions. Both groups felt repentant about what they had done. The details of an abortion are so gruesome..it shocks the mind, and breaks the heart and soul. It seriously is akin to the atrocities of WWII. As a society we need to do better in supporting women who feel they have no other option. We also need to make abortion illegal, only in cases on rape, incest, and life of the mother. This practice of abortion is a horror that I can only imagine is kindling God's anger.

The shift of some later-day saints to the left is beyond comprehension for me. Each politician has made their stance on abortion clear. That issue alone should make clear who we should support. There are many other issues that make the choice clear like you talked about.
I’ve been hearing from latter-day saints that they have issues with Trump’s rhetoric as the main reason they are voting for Kamala. That logic makes no sense, if anything you should just not vote for either.
At least that way you can be ideologically consistent.

Low information voters. They listen to rhetoric and skim headlines to form their political opinions, there are some in my own family and it drives me nuts, too. When you look at the platforms, you cannot support the policies of the Left and be able to honestly say you do not support or sympathize with groups or organizations that are contrary to the church doctrines.

It is one of the most weak minded arguments there is. There is always rhetoric in politics. They’re trying to get a message across. That’s called being a lazy learner. Look at history. It’s there. You can see where the proposed policies lead as they have been done before. And sorry, but the policies of the left don’t hold up in reality.

It's not Trump's rhetoric that makes me not vote for him... it's the raping. And the sexual assault, and the infidelity, and the embezzling, and the cheating, and the lying, and the disrespect for military and police, and the disdain for the poor, etc, etc, etc. He brags about breaking every single one of the 10 commandments and says he's never done anything he needs to repent of. I wholeheartedly agree. There were many witnesses in several states who testified of fraud. As a Christian and as a Latter-day Saint whose religion is based on the power of testimony, this means a lot to me. Most of these witnesses' testimonies were downplayed or ignored by the courts and media, which reminded me of how the testimonies of the saints against their persecutors in Missouri were ignored by the media and the courts. If we believe in witnesses such as the early apostles who testified of Christ's resurrection, and the witnesses of the Book of Mormon, why are there Latter-day Saints who scoff at the many witnesses who claimed they saw fraud happening in the 2020 election?

@@Omhikmat Excellent point! Also for the record, the courts refused to hear EF cases on the basis of "lack of standing" not on the basis of the evidence, which they never even looked at. From the Cornell Law School site: "Standing, or locus standi, is the capacity of a party to bring a lawsuit in court. To have standing, a party must demonstrate a sufficient connection to and harm from the law or action being challenged." Pretty lame argument from the courts, but they all fell in line. That is the difference between the democrats (voting for the person) vs repulicans (mostly voting for the policies - that effect our nation). The gospel was restored in America 🇺🇸 for a reason ! America has been called the new Jerusalem by many apostles. There is something very special ✨️ ❤️ about the land of the free and home of the brave.
This is our Zions camp, and we need to stand up for our constitutional
and freedom's. Religious freedom is being challenged all over the world. And it will come to America 🇺🇸 one day! I hear many members say that Trump has flaws and he's a horrible person and that he doesn't know God. But the truth of the matter is no one could possibly know how Trump feels about his relationship with Heavenly Father. I can't believe the prideful manner in which some members judge Trump! Alma, the younger did things that went against the gospel, and later, he returned to God! I went and saw Trump in Coachella California the crowd was incredibly large and happy to see him!
God uses imperfect people to accomplish his work! None of us are perfect, and we never will be here on earth.
🙏🏻✨️It's beyond sad hearing members bad mouth Trump, only to be in favor of KAMALA, who has been running on abortion! Killing God's children is not okay! I stay close to my friends in the church that ❤️ America and the Lord. ✨️🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸🗽🎇Have a great evening!

Just because he treats others poorly, is abrasive, is dishonest when it suits him, is willing to say just about anything for his own benefit regardless if whether it is truthful, has chastity issues, is divisive, and arrogant, doesn’t mean he can’t be a great leader for the right. Just like with our church leaders, we shouldn’t focus on who they are and the example they set in their personal lives, we should just stick to the doctrine they teach. It actually gives me hope that despite all of my weaknesses, the Lord can still use imperfect people to advance the gospel.

I was too young to vote in 2015, when my Trump ran against Clinton, but in the 2020 elections, when I was able to vote, my dad told me to vote for Trump instead of Biden.
I didn't understand, seeing as how we were Mexican-Americans and the Democratic Party is usually the ones who help us. But my dad explained to me that during the times Trump was president, he and the President of Mexico had a great partnership and that Mexico was better for it, but it wasn't because Trump was a good person, so was the President of Mexico.
My dad told me that while Obama was president for 8 years, Mexico had several problems. The cartel had risen up thanks to several policies that Obama made, and it became dangerous to be in certain cities in Mexico. For example, when I went to Culiacan, Sinaloa, to visit my grandma during summer breaks, I would often see trunks of armed military patrolling the streets. Yet, it was relatively safe because they were there, but eventually, my family had to stop going there. . .until 2017.
Trump has my vote. He may be brash, but his policies and actions speak louder than his words. He has helped this nation and others as well. And not only that, in 2018, Trump even visited my small town by the Mexican border in 2018, to oversee the border patrol and even the military base we have here.
He may not be infallible, but he sure is doing his best.

What have conservative policies done for Mississippi, Alabama, Oaklahoma, West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Arizona, and Tenessee? They all accept much more in government money than they give back, and still have lower quality of life than most states run with more liberal policies.

@@NoTimeForWargames An excellent point, and I'm glad you bring up those states. But you're making my point more clear. Yes, those states struggle a lot. Yet, they are very good places to live. Over the past 5 years, mass migration out of Democrat run states have seen citizens fleeing to those Republican states you mention. And where is the crime, poverty, etc. all centered in those states? It's centered in their largest cities; cities run by guess who, Democrats. Yes, Democrats have strongholds in those places. Even Texas is a good example. A well run prosperous state, but it has more debt than California. Why? Because its two largest Democrat populations suck the resources of the state dry!

I hope that people can see the underlying views just like you expressed. Thank you. I was hoping we would have another choice between presidents, especially when it was just Trump and Biden. But when Kamala Harris came into the picture, I was even more shocked how she got into the position that she got into and I hope with all my heart that America will vote and stand against, the things that are taking place under blind eyes. Trump helped our veterans receive medical care whenever they needed it! So they don't have to wait to see a doctor! He lowered insulin cost to $60 dollars a month! He also supports our constitutional freedoms and our religious freedom! He also improved our military. These are a few things he did!

Jacob‘s point is that there’s a difference between saying things and actually doing things and putting policy in place. I think he was trying to make his point clear that there are personalities that rub us wrong, but that shouldn’t keep us from looking at what they’re actually doing. I get it. No one wants to vote for someone that comes across as prideful or crude but I also don’t want to vote for someone that’s going to kill a few more hundred thousands in war and kill our economy and, promote things like abortion. As commented already, the worship secularism. They say follow the prophet only when his words align with their beliefs. @@PeggyWest1127 In the case of COVID, the prophet said: "To provide personal protection from such severe infections, we urge individuals to be vaccinated. Available vaccines have proven to be both safe and effective." In the church's public positions on abortion, they have laid out strict and specific guidelines for church members. To what extent should non-members be obligated by law to follow the same standards as members? The church has stated, "As states work to enact laws related to abortion, Church members may appropriately choose to participate in efforts to protect life and to preserve religious liberty."
With regard to “protecting life,” there are a number of ways a church member could choose to protect the lives of unborn children, including ways outside of government force.
With regard to “preserving religious liberty” I think it's possible for an LDS member in good conscience to judge that this also includes preserving the rights of people who do not profess our religion not to be forced by the government to make the same decisions as we would make.
And if the prophet wanted the members to vote for a specific person, or NOT to vote for a specific person, to support a specific policy or NOT support a specific policy… surely he is free to say so, as he did with COVID? What is stopping him?

If a person is thoughtful (and the title of this channel is "Thoughful Faith"), they are open to seeing grey areas. Trump has some good and some bad to him; Jacob is endorsing him because he believes the bad is acceptable in a package that comes with the good.

"We urge you to spend the time needed to become informed about the issues and candidates you will be considering. Some principles compatible with the gospel may be found in various political parties, and members should seek candidates who best embody those principles. Members should also study candidates carefully and vote for those who have demonstrated integrity, compassion, and service to others, regardless of party affiliation. Merely voting a straight ticket or voting based on “tradition” without careful study of candidates and their positions on important issues is a threat to democracy and inconsistent with revealed standards (see Doctrine and Covenants 98:10). I'm sorry, but just like the presidential elections in 2016 and 2020, I cannot stomach either of the two major candidates. Living in Utah, I know full well the electoral votes from my state will easily be going to Trump, and that is one of several reasons why, for the third presidential election in a row, I will be voting third party. Yes, I know, as I've been told a thousand times before from people on both the left and the right - a vote for a third-party candidate is really a half-a-vote for the opposition. My counter to that is, if the winner of the presidential election won based on the popular vote, that would probably be true, but the reality is, the electoral college is what truly determines the winner of the presidential election. Therefore, as a Latter-day Saint resident of Utah, I can vote third-party for President and my conscience will be clear.
The left's woke agenda, which includes its relentless categorizing of people as either "oppressors" or "the oppressed" is a good enough reason for me to stay away from Kamala Harris. However, I have many issues with Trump that go way beyond the careless things he has said over the years, or his specific views on the major issues facing our country.

Wow. Perhaps a well meaning analysis, but missing so much detail. Afghanistan: the decision to hand Afghanistan over to the Taliban occurred in 2019, yes many people were shocked that the Biden administration honoured that decision, but listening to US politics it hard to see how he really had a choice. Same solution he had planned for Russia, tell Ukraine to submit. Might over right. Russia also was prepping the invasion in 2019, leading up to Christmas people were trying to convince themselves they wouldn't actually do it. Meanwhile Trump had spent 4 years undermining the UN (and Europe) which was set up specifically to deter such actions. China, wel to be fair, that's been building since before Trump got into office, although I suspect your news headlines don't share a lot about that. Never mind the insider information about Trumps desired actions and when they had to talk him out of using nukes. Looking at it from a global perspective the world was another more on edge from Trumps actions on the global stage. And yes peace is important, and the fact that despite the efforts to deflect we are still looking down the barrel of ww3 is terrifying. But it also matters what side your on. Going back to Russia launching the invasion in early 2020, was that related to the election? Quite probably although likely not in the way you have perceived it. For example look at the group fitting the description of a secret combination / cabal ... Q-Anon. The trail to the centre of manipulations showed influence from Trumps right hand men... Steve Bannon anyone? Oh, and I'm sorry but I can see nothing peaceful about January 6th, nor all the strategies to incite mobs against minorities eg recently the Haitians (legal immigrants fyi) As well as a strong Russian control in the centre group. Meanwhile abortion, Trumps stance has changed repeatedly over the last 25yrs, before which he supported abortion, because it's politically expedient. This year he's suddenly come out claiming to be Christian, he's sold gold bibles for profit, he was unable to quote a single scripture, or even the general meaning of a scripture, but you know sometimes I can freeze, but then, he straight up declared that he had never repented to God, saw no need to do so. Blasphemy is serious in my book, and blaspheme for political gain is nothing I can countenance, reading Alma, certainly drives that point home. Personally, I care more about reducing abortion than punishment, and stat's suggest it's one or the other, not both. Immigration is a tricky one, and a lot more complex than you have suggested, and we have always been exhorted to care for the vulnerable.and the wayfarer. "For these were the sins of your sister Sodom, failure to show hospitality to the stranger". Ultimately it is a good video to see your perspective, it just seems to be cherry picking the information.

As a convert member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints I do remember that every member of the Church is at a different level or place with their intelligence level, understandings and comprehensions. That being said as members of the Lords Church we know and understand the Plan Of Happiness, the Plan Of Salvation presented in the here and now and prior to birth. I would say that we have been clearly taught, educated and instructed in the understanding of Free Angency and what that is. One simple truth we have been taught by the Prophets is this, that free agency isn’t free and free agency doesn’t mean you do what ever you want and there’s great examples and lessons that teach this in an understandable and intelligent way. Abortion except in cases of incest and rape and imminent harm or death to the mother may be considered by the Lord at Judgement Day as murder, He is the final judge, however unto us it is considered murder. As an independent voter I do find corruption in both parties however one political platform does want to make abortion easily access and inappropriate use of public funds. Without getting into lengthy details Mrs Harris does support abortion. So if you find yourself conflicted because you like Harris personality and do not care for President Trumps then skip that vote, better to do this then put yourself into potential conflict with the Lord at the Last day. Blessings

You got it Jacob, can't add much to that! Here in the UK we once had the Magna Carta it was the first document to put into writing the principle that the king and his government was not above the law. It sought to prevent the king from exploiting his power. The Democrats are currently exploiting their power. Under this document we had the right to bare arms incase a king over step his mark and became a tyrant! No longer can we use that document as a right. It is no longer legal. That's what will happen with the constitution of the USA if you leave this current government in power. Joseph Smith once said that the constitution would hang by a silken thread, I do believe we are living in that day one wrong decision and it's gone forever! Character and morals in our elected leaders matter. Their words and actions matter. Abiding by the law matters. Especially with respect to the POTUS. Are either candidates perfect? No, of course not. Will either candidate’s policies align perfectly with our beliefs? No, of course not. Should we impose our beliefs on a diverse and free people who may think and believe and exercise their God given agency differently than we do and judge them for it? No, of course not. I think between the two major candidates there is a stark and clear contrast between them and their records, character, values, messaging, motivations for running, plans and vision for our country. No matter the outcome of the election or which policies of the winning candidate get enacted, we need to keep in mind our articles of faith (especially 11, 12) and not get caught up in the civil and political unrest and banter that is already here with more surely on the horizon.
