- Have you ever wondered what journey your cake has to 'travel' in order to reach your festive table? Here in this video I share probably the hardest shift of the year where you get confused how many hours you actually slept during the week. In the end all worth it because that's the reason we do this job - we enjoy serving people throughout the special moments.

Nunca había visto el mini Roscón así sin agujero en el centro, si que los he probado igual que el Roscón grande pero en pequeño, para una o dos personas. Como siempre Kris, me parece que haces un esfuerzo enorme al trabajar, grabar y editar todos estos videos. ¡Saludos desde España!

Here In the States in my area I find the King Cake around Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday/Ash Wednesday and they are decorated with the colors of New Orleans and the carnival...oh🤔... next month 😀😃😄; thanks for sharing Kris; all your videos have value... Gracias...until next time...have a fun filled week

@@KrisKazlauskaite if I remember, the cake is made with yeast, there is a mystery toy inside, a little filling (what kind 🤔?), decorated with colorful sugars: purple, golden, green… the colors of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana. Your Roscón de Reyes is different, looks great & is probably delicious 😋. The toy 🧸 inside is probably what these two cakes have in common. 🥳

I noticed that your slice almonds did not have the skin on, is that normal there? I like the cleaner look, all the sliced almonds I've ever used still have the skin. Also, what kind of fruit is for the decoration?

Hey!!yes I wanted to do every single step but since it was so busy at work i didn’t get a chance to record everything, but yes will keep that in mind for December:)
Yours have skin? Here we don’t use flaked almonds with skin, in other countries in Europe perhaps yes but I am not sure, when I lived in London we used to get the same. In shops we can buy whole ones with skin, but that’s it really.

at the end of the day, you have a sense of achievement once everything you set out to do is completed. OMMMMMG, the large Roscon de Reyes with cream and candied orange looks so appetizing 🤤

Love from New Orleans. It's almost Mardi Gras here and we have the same tradition with King Cake. We put a baby inside and the one who gets the baby has to buy the next one lol I didn't know that part about fortune, though. I'm going to have to try Three Kings Cake next 😄👍

This dessert is like brioche, has an orange blossom and oranges. Very light sponge. The closest would be brioche bun really.

The French have a holiday / Xmas cake with figurine of baby Jesus hidden in it. The Italians also have a Xmas cake with I believe a bean hidden in it representing the baby Jesus.
Hi Thomas! Thanks for sharing! I heard this in France but didnt know about Italy and beans, looks like Spain took both of then as they use beans and figurine🙂 but beans i guess were in old times, now they are excited about these little kings inside Roscones.

@@KrisKazlauskaite Ya …. I asked my father .. 95 …his family and 2 oldest siblings are off the boat Italian immigrants. He says it was a fava bean representing baby Jesus and to your point it is the old world style for the non wealthy. His mother & sister still did it here in states while he was growing up
