Great story about how massive the Plymouth Exeter derby is - my dads mate had a massive accident a few years back whilst working and broke his legs and pelvis. He is a die hard argyle fan and goes week in week out. A few years back he was given argyle fan of the year award and he was chuffed, was brought in to the hospital he was at with a newspaper team and everything, he was really pleased with the award. However for the newspaper cover he was told to shake hands with Exeters fan of the year as a sign of peace. Told the newspapers to fck off and rejected the award. They gave it to him anyway, but without having to touch an Exeter fan.

Because of this our culture is a mix between the north east and Yorkshire (middlesbrough is in North Yorkshire). So we've got the north east rivalries and the Yorkshire rivalries e.g. Leeds. As a Bradford fan i'd say the Bradford Leeds Derby is a strong one, we're still one of the biggest clubs in the bottom half in the bottom half of the EFL League and leeds are a very passionate club, we just literally haven't played a competitive game since 2014. I think if Bradford was a more Consistent League One/Championship Calibre team it would've likely made things mean a lot more. Same issue with Rugby where Rhinos and Bulls was a huge deal but finances and relegations really separated things, so really the key issue there is just not having the consistent games As for Leeds vs Man U, I imagine that was due to the "We Lived the Dream Era" of Leeds as well as more into the First Divison days but Man U have probably never considered Leeds a real threat especially when they had the full Prem Stranglehold. But I know its a real thing as my Dad's a Leeds fan and he almost spat at me for suggesting that Leeds should make a 49ers inspired Alternate kit just because it would've had red on it (Despite the fact he's also a 49ers fan)

Rotherham-Wednesday could be a derby just like how Monza-ACM/Inter could be if Rotherham and Monza were actually competitive This is because like how Monza is a suburb of Milan, so is Rotherham. It’s just the Millers are significantly smaller than Wednesday.
You need history and hatred for a top derby, top 5: Burnley Blackburn, West Ham Millwall, Swansea Cardiff, NU Sunderland, Steel City. Honourable mentions Forest Derby & Saints Pompey
As a Liverpool fan, I have some bias, but Liverpool v united is a fearce game even as a fan living overseas. The history, the players, the intensity, I think it has it all. However, I can understand where people are coming from. At this point our main rival is probably city, both because of pep v klopp, and that they are our biggest competition. The fact that these rivalries change I can understand may rub people the wrong way, but i still think that LFC v utd and even LFC v city are brilliant rivalries. 🎉
Woking FC vs Aldershot Fc went to their derby christmas time 2022 was intense. Cops all over flares thrown on the field everything u could want in a derby. Also broke the record for the highest appearence for a national league game at the time.
Vizeh please look into the history of QPR V Brentford derby. Basically in 60's QPR tried buying Brentford and tried to put them out of business as they wanted the clubs to merge under the name QPR. Hence why the derby is hated.
It's not a huge event for most but means a little to the fans: Wycombe Wanderes Vs Oxford United. Particularly reignited a few years ago when Wycombe defeated Oxford in the league 1 playoff final to be promoted 😂
I am an American Liverpool fan but I hate United and Everton I would be a tourist still but I wouldn’t just go there to go there I would thoroughly enjoy the experience.
In the top flight NLD is the most hatred driven. Liverpool and United is the biggest only because they have more fans and both biggest clubs but their fans are quite mellow on the hatred side. Sometimes I feel Everton and Liverpool is more fierce rivalry.
Fair play for giving the the south wales derby its credit but how did you mention Newport v Cardiff and not Bristol city/ Rovers v Cardiff in the Severnside derby? But i must admit its quite casual nowadays
We've never played Brighton competitively it just isn't a derby at all, we're close enough that they host there women's games at our stadium but no rivalry. Our biggest rivalry is with Wimbledon, the reason I like our fellow playoff semi final opposition in the form of MK, is because of our mutual dislike of the Wimbledon scum.
I agree with the fact that the big 6 rivalries are for tourists but at the same time i think Arsenal vs Tottenham, and Liverpool vs Man U should be slightly higher, or there should be a tier lower for the other big 6 rivalries

Viz, I love your content man and you've actually put together a very rational tier list here, but... How could you forget about Luton V Watford though? I'll admit that it's not a top tier derby at the moment (The history behind the derby certainly is), but it is, and always will be hated. Despite both sets of supporters being connected by a short journey up and down the M1, they absolutely hate each other, and the derbies that took place in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s lead to some real venomous and violent clashes, on and off the pitch.

@@JohnBall-cd4cg yeah it was more in the 90’s when we were in league two. It’s why I don’t think leeds and Manchester United aren’t rivals bet most of the current Man U fans couldn’t even point to leeds on a map
For me the top 5 derbies would be:
West Han United Vs Millwall
Aston Villa Vs Birmingham City
Sheffield United Vs Sheffield Wed
Cardiff City Vs Swansea City
Blackburn Rovers Vs Burnley
Being a Swansea City fan the South Wales Derby means more to me than any game. It really is one of those rear derbies that is based on pure hatred on both sides.
I'm also pretty sure it's the only bubble match in the whole of the UK.
When we travel to Cardiff we usually arrive a good 2 hours before KO. Where all we can do is enter the stadium and stay on the concourse. I'm 99% sure it's the same for Cardiff fans when they travel down to Swansea.
Agreed Preston and Blackpool absolutely despise each other like every other derby despises each other,
Hi Liam question is it possible for you to talk about Ipswich Town rise via their back to back promotions I could see you of some sort talking about it
1:43 it is burton Albion 😂 could be port vale or derby
Rotherham-Wednesday could be a derby just like how Monza-ACM/Inter could be if Rotherham and Monza were actually competitive
This is because like how Monza is a suburb of Milan, so is Rotherham. It’s just the Millers are significantly smaller than Wednesday.
Lezgooooo Vizeehhh, finally getting recognition as the resident Burnley fan🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Finally? 🤔🤔🤨
Not mentioned the a500 derby vale vs crewe as we not faced stoke in a while
My top 5 are
1: NLD
2: Tyne and wear
3: Docks
4: Chelsea spurs
5: Pompey Southampton
You need history and hatred for a top derby, top 5: Burnley Blackburn, West Ham Millwall, Swansea Cardiff, NU Sunderland, Steel City. Honourable mentions Forest Derby & Saints Pompey
Oh yeah also West Brom Wolves and AV Birmingham, there's a few when you think about it
As a Liverpool fan, I have some bias, but Liverpool v united is a fearce game even as a fan living overseas.
Just been to Brentford v Fulham. I wanted to obliterate my eyes with fire. The ones in Championship were amazing I miss championship
Proper bias against big 6 here. Respect it.
Vizeh please look into the history of QPR V Brentford derby. Basically in 60's QPR tried buying Brentford and tried to put them out of business as they wanted the clubs to merge under the name QPR. Hence why the derby is hated.
Next: ranking the best 698 London derbies, from C to Z
1.North London Derby
2.Wimbeldon vs MK Dons
3.Old firm derby
4.North West derby (Liv-Mun)
5.Manchester derby
Change my mind
Look mate, I dont watch lower league football but this is the most fuck lower league football list ive seen.
Old Firm is Scottish, and you clearly know fuck all about it, number 1 in Britain by an absolute mile
Walk into Swansea with a Cardiff top, you've genuinely got like a 40% of being beaten up and a 100% chance of being heckled and berated
Whee is swindon vs Oxford? Why is my Derby left out of this 😡
Finally someone saying the steel city derby is on top tier
Can't wait for next season. 6 points off the pigs UTO 💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍
@@gazbrucia1654Nah mate ur getting battered
@@jacobjermy3596 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍
No Swindon, Oxford? I don’t think people realise that it’s a derby match, like we really hate each other.
It's not a huge event for most but means a little to the fans: Wycombe Wanderes Vs Oxford United. Particularly reignited a few years ago when Wycombe defeated Oxford in the league 1 playoff final to be promoted 😂
Qpr v Chelsea is the definitive west London derby
I am an American Liverpool fan but I hate United and Everton I would be a tourist still but I wouldn’t just go there to go there I would thoroughly enjoy the experience.
Love how Tranmere just got axed 🤣
In the top flight NLD is the most hatred driven. Liverpool and United is the biggest only because they have more fans and both biggest clubs but their fans are quite mellow on the hatred side. Sometimes I feel Everton and Liverpool is more fierce rivalry.
The Brian clough trophy is definitely not a friendship trophy. Us and f@rest hate each other. Winning that trophy means everythinh
As a Leicester fan Forest is THE ONE when talking about rivals it goes 1.forest 2.derby bit of a drop 3.Coventry
For us Derby is way ahead of Leicester in terms of rivalry so the Forest Leicester games will never be a proper derby game
Old firm sweeps the floor
Bro got a haircut between me clicking the thumbnail and the video starting 😂
Charlton only representation is AFC Wimbledon?! Charlton vs Millwall is a meet derby and Charlton vs Crystal Palace
1. Birmingham vs Villa
2. Wolves vs WBA
3. Birmingham vs Coventry
4. Luton vs Watford
5. Wimbledon vs MK Dons
SOTC
Brum Cov?! nah.
It's nice to see you not dismiss palace vs brighton considering how many fights I've witnessed at this fixture its nice for you to acknowledge its deffo a heated... rivalry (not Derby tbh though)😊
You forgot palace v millwall that’s proper rivalry back in the day I would say that’s more then with Brighton
Oh! Isn't West Ham vs Millwall a fiestier affair?
Steel City Derby is elite 🙌🏾😎
Viz, I love your content man and you've actually put together a very rational tier list here, but... How could you forget about Luton V Watford though? I'll admit that it's not a top tier derby at the moment (The history behind the derby certainly is), but it is, and always will be hated. Despite both sets of supporters being connected by a short journey up and down the M1, they absolutely hate each other, and the derbies that took place in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s lead to some real venomous and violent clashes, on and off the pitch.
It’s disgraceful how millwall vs Chelsea ain’t on here
Not a big derby because its down in the lower leagues and they don't often play each other. However shrewsbury vs Wrexham welsh border derby has a lot of history to it. Both teams are in league one next season...
Burnley v Blackburn, armed police. Not seen anything compare to that - anyone know if others have had the same ?
As a liverpool fan, I must say Merseyside is much better than Northwest.
