    Thanks for making this and your walking guide. Both are very helpful and convinced me to try to walk the Rota Vincentina solo in 2024.

    I have lived in the Algarve for 15 years and you guys had really bad luck with the weather...was it really June? I am going to complete this walk in May of this year (2020) so am looking forward. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this film.

      It was May, the first two days were cloudy and rain but then it got really nice and hot.

    Gorgeous video! We're considering doing the trail from Zambujeira do Mar to Odeceixe... is there a lot of sand to trudge through on that trail or is it just a small portion of the walk?

    Thank you for making the video. I'm actually thinking of doing the trail next year. Would you recommend it for solo hikers?

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  5 років тому +2

      Hi! Yes, I think you'll be totally fine doing it alone, there are quite a few hikers on the route, it's well-marked and safe. We did see people walking alone.

    Hi, I'm doing this route in Sept and was planning to camp in sites along the way. However- I found out that there aren't campsites in every town and also they're inland too. Would you recommend not camping at all and just staying in accommodations instead? Thank you..!

    Thanks for the tips! Do you know where you can get a gas cannister in Portugal? I'm going northbound starting in Lagos.

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  Рік тому

      You can buy gas in Decathlon, some bigger supermarkets, and outdoor stores. You can check Continente or Inter Marche in Lagos

    Informative and beautiful pictures. Would it be a relief with a bicycle.

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  5 років тому

      Yes, it's possible to cycle but for the first two days you'll have to stick to the gravel road, the walking path goes over the sand dunes you can't cycle there. The road does come to the coast from time to time.

    Spectacular scenery. Is this a religious pilgrimage route?
    Thanks

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  5 років тому

      Hello, Theodore! No, it's just a hike to the cape named St.Vicente, not a pilgrimage like the Camino de Santiago.

    What month did you go and temp? We are going in January so I’m sure it will be too cold for Hike

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  5 років тому +1

      The Fishermen's Trail goes through the south of Portugal it's never really cold here and it doesn't rain that much which means the route can be walked all year around. You might get lucky, but in January be prepared to get some rain. We do discuss the weather in our article .

    Did you find many people that could speak English? I've read that's it's best to learn a little Portuguese but I doubt I will speak it fluently before we leave.

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  5 років тому +2

      We didn't have any problem with English, at every hostel/hotel we stayed on the Fishermen's Trail people could speak good English. I can speak some Portuguese but it wasn't necessary unlike in Spain in Portugal quite a lot of people can speak good English.

      @@StingyNomads Thanks for the fast response!! Great to hear that English is relatively well understood! You trip looks beautiful! We are not certain we are going yet but are seriously considering it! Thanks again!
