Well done. I have done a couple of Caminos and am looking at other options for a distance walk. Great to have your viewpoint.

@@michaelpowell2717 thanks so much - we enjoyed this trail for its raw feeling and incredible incredible ocean views. I have only walked German and Spanish sections of the Camino but want to try to Portuguese way someday soon. What was your most interesting part of Camino?

@cravetheplanet I walked from St Jean pied de Port to Sant'd'Comp in '18 and the Via de la Plata in '19. I started the Portuguese at Lisbon last year and I am itching to get back. Every Camino has its own character, I found 'The French' very social, and the VDLP more challenging for head and body. Interested in the Fisherman's Trail.

did this trail for 6 days 2 years ago in July.....the sand in my shoes was so so so extremely annoying .....emptying your shoes every 100 meters from the sand becomes unbearable and so I walked many kilometers with sand-filled crammed shoes and sore feet. From the 3th day I did the remaining 4 days of the trail (+/- 70 Km in total ) in pool slippers, and this was a revelation....to my surprise it was so comfortable. It would have never crossed my mind to hike in pool slippers but since then I now always hike in pool slippers (in summer)....the free feeling at your feet is incredible (PS : lost a big toe toe nail thanks to the first 2 days)

      Pool slippers - like a “slide” ?

    • @marcod.r.3299

@@cravetheplanet yes, haha, exactly slide pool slippers....you should try it, it´s honestly amazing. Just make sure they are 1 piece, so the top (on the back of the foot) is not glued to the side of the slipper but the slipper is made of one piece.....July was certainly not too hot, there is always a lot of wind there, it is not like, say, the interior of southern spain where you melt away and the sun is unbearable in summer

@@marcod.r.3299 oh wow, good to hear. the luggage guys were like stay away in july and aug....but also, the interior of spain sounds like hades too. there's not a lot of shade on the trail...i guess if you're adapted to heat you can do anything! i had a friend run in death valley for 100 miles...but he's intense. lol. Good to hear, i always bring slides...for the hotels. but i kept trying to flat foot it with a floppy forefoot in order not to dig into sand so much. it kinda of worked, but not really. my la sportivas did reallywell though. my bigger "boots" were dreadful.
it seems the sand gets harder and harder every year ;-) age....
