I came into the comments to hopefully be the first one to make note of the uncanny similarities, but alas, you beat me to the punch...but that's a "happy little" incidence. 😅🎨🖼🖌🌱🌿
This man is SO pure. He clearly loves these plants and I could not imagine a better suited person for the job. This whole vibe is immaculate. The music, his voice, the water in the background, the environment we’re being taken through... perfect
"We can do much more together than we can individually" Love that statement Also, could you maybe do a video featuring only Selaginella, maybe also Huperzia, etc? An in depth video on these plants would be so great. Lycopodiopsida are pretty much my favorite class of plants.
If she is summer rain oaks then Chad is spring mist ferns. This was so calming, way better than i thought it would be. Super interesting and well made.
Weird how people here in the Philippines prefer imported plants. The endemic ones we have are a lot more interesting and exotic-looking. A trip to my aunt's farm in the countryside a couple of weeks ago completely blew my mind, her plants looked unusual and alien.
Tama.
I'm crazy about botanical illustration, yet I still didn't know about Margaret Mee. Her story with the moonflower has touched me profoundly, she is my new heroine! Synchronizing herself with nature's rhythm, attempt after attempt until finally witnessing the moonflower and showing it to the world for the very first time. What a demonstration of perseverance, humility, true respect, and devotion!
Mr. Husby has such a calming voice and spirit, plus deep knowledge and love of plants, it's truly inspiring. I grew so calm while watching this video, it truly was a meditative experience.
I always enjoy tours at and from you of Fairchild. It's very relaxing to hear the waterfalls and experience the calmness of the plants. I even found some plants to place on a wishlist, knowing I'll never possess one. Chad did a great job of introducing each plant and drawing me into a captivating, serene moment of their culture. "amazing". Thanks for sharing and happy growing for you and Fairchild.
I've been a horticulturalist for over 10 years and this blew me away completely, Ive been to gardens all over Europe, Asia, here in Australia and I have to say this is AMAZING. i have to go there before i die.
This is so gorgeous. He reminds me of my 'grandpa'. We're not related by blood, but he was a close family friend with the sweetest soul ever. When I visited his home in Japan at 10 years old, he showed me this tranquil little greenhouse he and his wife set up when they first got married. It immediately felt like home. It was filled in every corner with all sorts of tropical plants you could find in Southeast Asia, hanging plants scraping my face gently as I walked through exploring every interesting leaf I could find. He broke off a leaf from his alocasia and gave it to me to press in a book. A month after we got home, we were informed that he passed away after an accident while climbing the Japanese Alps. I don't exactly remember how I reacted since then, but I found that leaf, beautifully preserved, three years ago today. I've been collecting plants since then. As an under-20 year old plant lady from the Philippines, this is my dream. To curate a beautiful greenhouse, protecting endemic and rare flora and fauna and spend most of my life exploring and educating others about the importance of preserving forests in the country. Right now I'm working towards a degree in social studies as a compromise with my parents, but hopefully I get to use this as a tool to start advocacy work with the people who have just as much passion for plants and nature. I always get told I'm such a 'grandma' for having so many plants, but I like to think it has made me a better person, much like all of the other plant folks here 😊 getting an alocasia sanderiana in a few days, maybe I'll name him after my ojiisan?
I'm Kyla from Philippines too and another young plant lady, I'm 20. Nice to meet you in this channel! Hope to collab with you someday! I'm working on my degree in Biology, skl.
LOL that scindapsus on the ceiling that wanted to escape, but then changed its mind :)))) how you suppose to fertilize those kind of plants, their roots are so far far away? is it foliar feeding?

I do have many inside but nothing like a real outside garden..... thank you for teaching us so much about plants!. God creatednthis qorld with the most variety of plants and colors.... amaizingly beautiful!
What an amazing video/tour. I've been an interior landscaper for 35 years. You become complacent when working with plant after plant every day. This video has reignited my love for plants, which is why I'm in this industry in the first place. Am sharing this with my colleagues. 😍😍😍🌿🌿🌿
it's astonishing what this man knows about plants. And the respect and love and tenderness in the way he talks about these plants, and touches them. And the plants all look so perfect, so undamaged by insects, like if they all were planted just before the video was taken. And very beautiful landscape designed (or how to call it). By far the most beautiful garden I saw so far.
This video is now one of my all time favorites. He was so peaceful, knowledgeable, and passionate. This garden is absolutely beautiful as well. Definitely a video I’ll be rewatching.
This video is so beautiful. I'm from Puerto Rico and I was really touched by the community's solidarity and work to save plants from exticntion. Just amazing.
Chad, thank you for sharing your knowledge and gift of plant storytelling. You’re a natural at this and I hope you’re giving many in-person tours to those visiting. And Summer, as always thank you deeply for the work and effort you put into creating these videos. You provide for many of us a window into a world we would otherwise never get to see, as people who love plants and have them in our homes, but don’t necessarily have a profession in botany/horticulture and access to these networks. A private tour of such a fantastic place, alongside a true expert whom I would otherwise never get a chance to hear from. It’s just magical. 🙏 💗
The way he handles the plant so gently is so cute. I could just listen to a podcast of him talking to fall asleep. I’ll have to pull this video up when I feel anxious.
Oh my goodness! This was incredibly inspiring. I am going to watch it again. How brillant.....I have reptiles at home and I am just so excited to find more ways to make them feel at home with me and plants are the answer! Thank you soooo much!

Chad voice is ASMR and meditative indeed. I just leave this video running while WFH. Helps me focus on my works. I add this video to my collection, as it is likely to aid in deep sleep too. Looks like he blends in with all of his plants and they like him.... definitely one of the best plant video I have seen so far 👍👍👍👍👍
It was like a dream, one of the sweetest dream I ever had in my life! The soothing music, claiming voice and out standing cinematic video are perfect!! I love that we have been promoted to second person rather than a third person. Thank you Summer and the team!

I was mesmerized for every single second of this, thank you so much Chad. I'm unable to leave the house currently and this has opened the world up to me :-) xx
Fascinating. He made good comments about the fact that plants do not have senescence "program" like animals do. Also about the intelligence of plants (no mobility but very adaptive and able to travel - they use winds, animals and humans) may be they are more intelligent than we are....
Mr. Husby, like Freycinetia cumingiana and the other plants you tirelessly teach us about, may you likewise 'never really age'. what about blue phalaenopsis orchid? ;) I mean the true one, not chemically induced. it has been genetically created by Masahiro Mii in Japan couple of years ago

Thoroughly enjoyed this video. The soothing music and this man’s gentle voice walking us through one of the most stunning gardens is immensely a joy to watch😌
Omg the lycopodium are to die for. I'm growing about 8 different species in my home but these look heavenly! I wish I could get a closer look and species names for all, especially the one at 8:34.
Wow what a beautiful botanical garden one can spend days, amazing plants, Chad has a very calm vibes, thank you Summer for sharing, love your channel!!!
I think we all needed a good plant tour & chill. Thank you so much, Summer, for bringing us something filled with genuine serenity during such a tumultuous time. :)
What a relaxing man to listen to. You can see how much he cares about plants by the way he handles them so gently. Some great information and snippets of the life story and how they have come to have the plant in their collection. Thankyou for taking us along Summer on this tour.
Absolutely love the story about the Solanum that was saved from extinction by a grad student taking cuttings! Don’t wait, propagate! 🌱🌱 This is why I greatly appreciate the work done at botanic gardens and by botanists/horticulturists and even us home growers 💚 Nature is uniquely precious. Also, I’d move to Florida in a heartbeat to work at Fairchild 🌼 The Ghost Orchid is simply haunting, always wanted to see one 😍 This was a beautiful episode!
I have always thought ferns were my favorite. Then you show plants that are older than ferns, unobtainable to the common .Much harder to grow! And are super rare! But those are the kind I love of course. They make me happy🥀🐸

this man could spend hours explaining every plant and each moment would fill my soul with warmth
can you please do another one off these? This must be the most relaxed, comprehensive and fluent person in the plantworld.
"There are many ways to be a plant."
This guy has so many beautiful quotes, after watching this, I want to be a plant.
Chad has such a calming, soothing voice. I love how passionate he is about his job, you can tell how much he loves it. What a guy!!
I also feel that. Without love no one can do this.
maximum irony would be if his wife is as calm as him and is named Karen. :3

I'm taking a mental health day from work and this really helped.
I'm so glad it did. :)
I didn't know someone could take a mental heath day off from work, I should have been doing that for years
Is this a official thing? “A mental health day”?
Or just a regular day off.
I want to be as calm as him :(
The Bob Ross of plants! 😊
Yeah his BP is like 90/60 mmHg
