    The nice thing is, a person doesnt need to worry about putting this stuff together at 'suspension weighted at ride height',... The arm moves in the front bushing and the rear of the arm is bolted solid. (Unless it is an adjustable arm). I'm doing non adjustable also.

      Yeah this one is non adjustable but it does still help with traction.

    This was the first thing I put in my 97 years ago when I got it. It kept breaking mounts so I got a poly mount for it and I REALLY didn't like how the stock mounting looked on the tailshaft housing of the trans... Maybe the TQ arm pulling up helped break the stock trans mounts. I put this in and Haven't had any more problems... Probably the poly mount but I feel better knowing the tailshaft housing isn't part of the suspension anymore...

      Yes I agree.And if you add a torque converter and start launching harder you can crack the tail shaft.

    Dropping the trans the way he did, does it not damage the back of the engine as it comes into contact with the firewall??

      No I didn't damage anything. I dropped it slowly. If you ever want to remove the transmission to change the torque converter you have no choice but to tilt the engine back to get access to the transmission bolts.

    Great video - love it!
    Is this in preparation for a torque arm installation?

      I assume you ment torque converter and yes if I can rent a lift I will be installing a converter.But definitely not going to do it on floor Jacks.

      Oh no - I thought you might be installing a torque arm in addition to this bracket. It looked like it was the same bracket included with the Torque Arm kit. That made me think you might have more plans for this install.
      I think it's similar, but not the same. As you mentioned in the video, the parts are different for autos and manuals.

      @GalaxyStranger01 Oh I see what you mean.No I already had a BMR torque arm but it was mounted in the stock location on the tail shaft of the transmission.This relocation bracket moves the torque arm from the tail shaft to the bracket itself which is much stronger than the tail shaft.When you add a torque converter it is recommended because harder launches can break the tail shaft.Now mind you the torque converter I am installing and the power I am making probably pose no danger to the tail shaft but still better to not take any chances.

      Yeah, great mods. Better to over-engineer it anyway.

      @GalaxyStranger01 Yeah plus to go faster now everything is expensive.Heads and intake is what I need and they are pricey.So might as well get the chassis sorted for now and eventually get the heads and intake.

    Whats the part number for that torque arm for that mount is it shorter?

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021  8 місяців тому +1

      The torque arm is a BMR TA002R and it is non adjustable and stock length.It is just a stronger replacement for the original.UMI also makes one I just bought the cheapest one at that time.The relocation mount is by UMI and that part number is UPI-2208-R.BMR also makes one but again at the time the UMI mount was cheaper at the time.
